On Tuesday afternoon an emergency meeting of all Pattaya Police Volunteers took place at Pattaya Police Station as the search for two men, who stole items and then abducted a 23 year old woman, and were wearing uniforms commonly worn by Pattaya Police Volunteers, continues.
Police Colonel Sukthat, the Pattaya Police Chief and Police Senior Sergeant Major Songtum, who is responsible for the Volunteer Unit, led the meeting attended by a majority of the serving Pattaya Police Volunteers.
The victims of the recent case, Khun Pongsuk aged 26 and his girlfriend, Khun Gitaya aged 23, were also at the meeting, and were shown pictures of each of the 300 Volunteers who currently work for Pattaya Police. They confirmed that none of them were a likeness of the two men involved in the case.
During the meeting, pictures of the two men who are suspected of being involved in the case emerged and were identified as Khun Oran aged 24 and Khun Ae aged 25. Arrest warrants have now been issued for them but it was not confirmed if they were serving Police Volunteers or not.

Police also found a large number of children's clothes and instant noodles.
Meanwhile, national police spokesman Lt-General Prawut Thawornsiri yesterday dismissed reports that five police generals are facing transfer over suspected roles in Rohingya trafficking.
So far, 67 officers from different police units and precincts in the South, where several instances of human trafficking were uncovered, have been either transferred or moved to inactive posts pending investigation. The ranks range from non-commissioned officers to colonel.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday reiterated his instructions, first issued on May 6, for civilian authorities, police and the military to do a complete scan of the South within the 10-day deadline.
Prayut issued the reminder at yesterday's cabinet meeting, deputy government spokesman Maj-General Sansern Kaewkamnerd said.
The PM also said that any official, police and military personnel found to have a hand in the trafficking would automatically be transferred away.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Money Laun-dering Office yesterday ordered the seizure of Bt75 million worth of assets belonging to members of a trafficking gang led by Phadungsak Bunphinij.

Train wrecks are not only in Thailand.
Amtrak Train Derails in Philadelphia, Killing at Least 5 and Injuring Dozens
At least five people were killed and dozens more injured when an Amtrak train carrying 243 people derailed on Tuesday in Philadelphia, shutting down service in the Northeast region, the authorities said. The train was headed from Washington to New York when it derailed around 9:30 p.m., officials said during a news conference late Tuesday. Forty-nine people, including six people in critical condition, were taken to area hospitals. The cause of the crash was initially not known. -
Not sure if the suspects are Tourist Police or Volunteer Police
Police are currently searching for two Police Volunteers, who are suspected of theft and abduction in Soi Khopia, South Pattaya in the early hours of Monday.
The alleged crime was reported to Police late on Monday Night by Khun Pongsuk aged 26 and his girlfriend, Khun Gitaya aged 23, who both work in Bars on Walking Street.
Khun Pongsuk had finished work on Monday Morning and stopped at a food stall to purchase fried chicken for his girlfriend when he encountered the two uniformed Police Volunteers, as he drove back with the food to his rented room. The Police Volunteers ordered him to stop but he decided to continue driving to his apartment.
As he parked and jumped off his bike he was ordered to stop by the Police Volunteers, who threatened to shoot him if his did not. At this point he was detained by the two Volunteers and escorted to his room where his Girlfriend was waiting. She was in-shock when she opened the door to the room and was confronted by the two aggressive Police Volunteers who ordered the couple to hand over an IPhone 4 and all the cash they had, which totaled 400 Baht.
They ordered Khun Pongsuk to remain in the room while they took his Girlfriend away, claiming she would be taken to Pattaya Police Station for a drug test. When she was driven away the woman claimed the two Police Volunteers asked for sex in exchange for her release, an offer she declined immediately.
The Volunteers stopped their bike outside of a Mobile Phone Shop on Pattaya Third Road and, using Khun Gitaya’s Thai ID card, they pawned the phone for 3,300 Baht. At this point she begged them to release her and give her 100 Baht for a taxi home. The Volunteers agreed and left on their bike, leaving the woman on the street.
Police obtained CCTV from the mobile phone shop which showed one of the wanted men. Both remain at-large for now but Police are confident of a quick arrest in this case.

Social Security,
Wages above $118,000 are exempt from Social Security contributions. One way to fix Social Security is to stop subsidizing the rich with this exemption.

The way it is No one can say what they are really thinking about the bars..
You're right Billy, when I speak to guys in person I often hear much different things about bars than I read on forums.
Most guys don't want problems on their holiday so they find it easier not to say things that will upset barowners and their friends.
Unless the bar has no one to defend it like Hi Boss.
Let's say a guy criticizes Hi Boss.
Because nobody here is mates with the owner, those who like Hi Boss are not going to get riled up.

Baccara
Baccara has lots going for it.
Very comfortable seating. There are chairs upstairs by the stage that are the most comfy seating of any bar in the world.
Best sound system in Pattaya. Even if the music is loud it doesn't hurt your ears. I've been there with rock and roll diehards and all of a sudden I see them tapping their toes and fingers to the beat.
Probably the prettiest girls in Pattaya.
Draft beer 69 baht.
The main downside is that although the girls are beautiful they're not overtly sexual.
No pussy eating in that bar. Hardly any groping either.
EDIT: I prefer upstairs which is less crowded and the girls are wearing sneakers while downstairs they're wearing heels.

It's 100 years exactly since the sinking of The Lusitania.
While watching a news report - Channel 4 News in the UK - the news anchor, Jon Snow, repeated the widely-held misconception that the incident caused the US to enter WWI.
I know the Yanks were usually a bit tardy in getting to the party in those days, but I doubt even they would have dithered for 23 months before declaring war IF the assertion was true.
Let's get some facts straight:
1. The Lusitania was built in such a way as to be easily convertible into an armed merchant ship in time of war.
2. It was, on May 7, 2015, actually registeted as an armed merchant shio.
3. It was carrying - in a secret compartment - 50 TONNES of ammunition from the US to the UK.
4. As such, there is no way it should have been allowed to carry approximately 2000 civilian passengers.
5. In light of points 2 and 3, Germany was well within its rights to sink the ship.
6. America entered WWI in April 1917, 23 months after the sinking of The Lusitania
7. America's eventual entry into that war was more about protecting investments than anything else. American financiers had actually invested heavily on both sides of the conflict in its early days, thus hedging their bets, so to speak. Only when it became clear that Germany could not win did the US step in.
So let's have no more bleating about German 'atrocities,' as they were no worse than any other participant in that particular war.
We have been spoonfed outrageous propaganda for over 100 years - and not just in regard to WWI.
Enough.
Fuck the warmongers, who are just as bad today as those of 100 years ago.
American financiers had actually invested heavily on both sides of the conflict in its early days, thus hedging their bets, so to speak.
So let's have no more bleating about German 'atrocities,' as they were no worse than any other participant in that particular war.
Hedging their bets, a Goldman Sachs strategy, Democrat Secretary of Treasury Rubin, Repub Secretary of Treasury Paulson.
WWI is yet another war that the USA should not have been involved in.
Maybe it would have been better for our planet if Germany had won the war. Given that scenario Hitler would never have risen to power.

The initial findings by the Bureau of Investigations and Analyses, known by its French abbreviation B.E.A., show that the co-pilot repeatedly set the plane’s altitude to 100 feet during its outbound flight to Barcelona, Spain, from Düsseldorf, Germany, on March 24. The maneuvers, which were captured by the plane’s flight data recorder, took place while the flight’s captain had left the cockpit temporarily. The new information contained in the 29-page report provides further evidence suggesting that the 27-year-old co-pilot crashed the Airbus A320 intentionally after locking the captain out of the cockpit, killing himself and 149 others, on its return leg to Düsseldorf. An initial analysis of a cockpit audio recording retrieved from one of the plane’s so-called black boxes just days after the crash led a French prosecutor to declare that Mr. Lubitz had acted deliberately. Investigations by the German police later revealed that Mr. Lubitz had a history of severe depression dating to at least 2009 and that he had scoured the Internet for methods of committing suicide in the days before his final flight.

Seems the Natlie incident is prompting a crackdown. Gender profiling and stop and pee promotes social order but violates civil rights and makes it more difficult for sex tourists to suck the cock of their choice. In the article there is a pic of Natalie and other ladyboys snared in the roundup.
In response to numerous complaints from Tourists and a recent, well-publicized fight involving a Ladyboy and an Irish Ex-pat on Walking Street, Pattaya Tourist Police Officers and Volunteers arrested Ladyboy’s on Walking Street in the early hours of Wednesday.
Police Major Piyapong, the Chief Inspector of Pattaya Tourist Police ordered a sweep of Walking Street in search of Ladyboy’s who are deemed to be the cause of many tourist complaints and tourist-related incidents which occur on the street.
A total of 34 Ladyboy’s were detained and taken to the Pattaya Tourist Police Station. 3 were found to be illegal immigrants and will be transferred to the Immigration Center for deportation, 3 failed urine tests to determine the presence of methamphetamine in their systems and 2 were involved in a recent incident with an Irish Expat who was allegedly assaulted on Walking Street last week.
6 of the Ladyboys will face further legal proceedings while the rest were fined, profiled and sent on their way with a stern warning that if they are found to have committed a crime in the future they will be dealt with to the full extent of the Law.

It seems for a variety of reasons more and more people are using Proxy Servers.
Hide Me is a new service that we recently affilaited with.
They have a paid service with unlimited bandwith.
But they also have a free servicewith no credit card required.
I like the idea of a free service with limited bandwith because you get a chance to try it out, to see if there are no unforseen tech issues before you get involved with paying.
Here's a link by way of our friends at Asia Hotel and Travel:

A uniformed Traffic Police Volunteer was briefly detained by Pattaya Police in the early hours of Monday following a drink-related incident in front of a house in Jomtien.
Police were called to the house in Soi 11 off the Tepprasit Road by its owner, Khun Jackapan aged 33. He was about to attack the Police Volunteer over allegations that he was the head of a gang who sexually assault young girls in the Pattaya area.
The comments were made by the volunteer and directed to the house owner after a period of heavy drinking involving a group of men who were invited to the house. The Police Volunteer, Khun Wichai aged 40, who is attached to Na-Jomtien Police Station, drove past and was spotted by one of the men who invited him to come and drink with them.
One of the men told Police that he suspected the uniformed Police Volunteer was already drunk as he joined the group. After some time, as the drinks continued to flow, conversation became more animated and culminated in the allegation made towards the house owner who was about to attack the volunteer.
It was decided to call the Police who took the Volunteer away and later compiled a report which was sent to Na-Jomtien Police Station who will now take action against the Police Volunteer.

The discovery of a body of a homeless man, who was known to sleep in an abandoned beer bar on Pattaya Beach Road, was made on Sunday afternoon.
Police were called to the Beer Bar Complex at the Central Pattaya section of Beach Road, just before 1.30pm and were directed to a Beer Bar located at the rear of the complex, which had been empty for some time.
A homeless man, thought to be a Thai National, had been sleeping there for some time and a cleaner of a nearby restaurant would often provide him with food. On Sunday he failed to appear at the restaurant as usual which led to the discovery of his body.
The man’s name is not known and his exact cause of death is also a mystery for now. Police have ordered a full post-mortem examination to take place although the death is not thought to be suspicious in any way and foul play is not thought to be a factor in his death, which is thought to have occurred 5-6 hours prior to the discovery of the body.

He's on the National Sex Offender Registry
Drunk after a night of partying, Jason Hoffman tried to force himself on the 17-year-old girl sleeping on the couch at a friend’s house.
It was Sept. 1, 2008, shortly before his 25th birthday, when the muscular Hoffman climbed on top of the girl and began to grope her. At first she thought it was a friend, but when she quickly realized it was Hoffman, she immediately objected to his clumsy advances.
But Hoffman continued to sexually assault her, said Crown prosecutor Bruce Goddard on Wednesday in Campbell River provincial court. The incident was described at the low end of seriousness in sexual offences, but the ordeal had long-term effects on the girl. “It has changed her life. It was hard for her to deal with this,” noted Goddard. He added that she suffers from ongoing emotional and trust issues which affects her relationships with friends and romantic interests.
Hoffman was arrested after authorities were alerted, but he apparently didn’t take the charge seriously and claimed he didn’t use any force That finally changed, said defence lawyer Doug Marion, during his prolonged trial which began in November 2009, resumed in June 2010 and finally concluded with a guilty verdict last October. “He could see after the victim testified that it was not consensual,” Marion told Judge Alan Gould. The court heard that Hoffman was raised by a good family, but then began partying and drinking to excess.
Judge Gould remarked that Hoffman led a “charmed life” and avoided run-ins with the law until he committed the sexual assault. “This is a serious matter, sir…you really scared this girl,” the judge said.
However, following his arrest and release on bail, Hoffman abided by a no-alcohol condition. He also moved to Alberta to work and became involved in a healthy relationship. His current girlfriend sat in the public gallery during his sentencing and wiped away tears as the hearing proceeded. “I’m sorry for the harm I caused,” Hoffman told the court. According to forensic and pre-sentence reports, Hoffman is unlikely to reoffend provided he continue to take counselling.
He received a one-year conditional sentence, meaning he won’t serve any jail time as long as he follows the court’s orders.
That includes more counselling, a year of probation to follow the conditional sentence and no drinking. Hoffman was also ordered to provide a DNA sample to the national police registry and his name is now on the national sex offender registry.
