    Dinos Bar and Grill

Googling around there seems to be a real difference of opinion about the song lyrics and even if Dino's Bar and Grill existed.

It made a list of the top fictional bars on some guy's website:

    11. Dino's Bar and Grill

First Appeared: "The Boys Are Back in Town," Thin Lizzy (1976)

    Notable Patrons: The Boys

    Signature Drink: The Drink

Yes, until we gave this one another listen, we also thought that the only lyrics to this song were "The boys are back in town.” Though their needs are simple, the boys at Dino's Bar and Grill are looking to have a good time. “Drink will flow and blood will spill”—this spot isn’t for the faint of heart, but if you go, it should be a good time causing big trouble. Guitar solo!

  2. Just joking.   8P

Didn't call Yank's Septics either, lol

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday denied his earlier remark at a business forum that he was not allowed to enter the United States, saying he didn't really mean it by just only joking.

The forum was organised by the US-based Wharton University of Pennsylvania last Friday.

He said, “I was only joking as many participants at the conference were Americans.”

He didn’t mean what he said as he joked he was banned entry while he allowed them to come in freely.

He said it was the media that sensationally played up his joke and turned it into an issue.

“I just teased them on whether or not they would deter me from going to the US while I do not bar them from doing business here and they laughed,” Gen Prayut said.

Gen Prayut said he will visit the US in September to attend the UN General Assembly in New York, accepting an invitation from UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon.

He said some diplomatic procedures must be attended to prior to his visit.

  3. This should make things easier for Independent Cam Girls.

There are lots of mobile payments apps out there, but none has won over teens and twentysomethings quite as fast as Venmo. In the fourth quarter of 2014, Venmo processed $906 million in payments—29 percent more than it did in the same period a year earlier. Venmo is smooth, simple, and most importantly social. You might join Venmo because you need its service, or you might sign up because all your friends already did and you’re experiencing some serious money-transfer FOMO.

So if another company with major social clout and an enormous user base decided to get into the mobile-payments business, that would be very bad news for Venmo. Especially if that company happened to be Facebook.

On Tuesday, that finally happened when Facebook began rolling out a long-rumored payments feature to its Messenger app. From the looks of it, Facebook is going for the same simplicity that’s made Venmo a success. To send money, users compose a message to a friend, tap a “$” icon, enter the amount they want to send, and then tap “pay” and fill in their debit-card information. To complete the transfer, the friend on the other end simply opens the message and fills in her debit card number. According to Facebook, the money moves right away, though it might take your bank one to three business days to make the funds available.

The goal of the new feature, Facebook product manager Steve Davis explained to Re/code, is to keep Facebook users in the Messenger app rather than having them go elsewhere to finish discussing a transaction. “We realized that there were all these conversations that were forced to go somewhere else in order to actually finish,” he said. “You had to go to another platform to actually pay another person.”

Notably, Facebook’s announcement emphasizes the new service’s security features. The company says it encrypts the connection between its users and Facebook and “use layers of software and hardware protection that meet the highest industry standards.” Anti-fraud specialists will monitor accounts for suspicious activity. Users can also add a personal identification number or multi-factor authentication to their accounts for increased protection. Last month, an article in Slate documented several apparent security flaws in Venmo, including the absence of multi-factor authentication and the fact that users weren’t notified of changes to their email and password credentials. Venmo has since updated its security features to address those problems.

According to Re/code, Facebook’s entire payments system was built in-house. (David Marcus, the head of Facebook Messenger, was formerly the president of PayPal, which absorbed Venmo in 2013.) In contrast Snapcash, a payments system Snapchat introduced last November, was a collaboration between the popular messaging app and payments company Square. Messenger also isn’t Facebook’s first foray into handling money—for years it has allowed users to purchase games or gifts through its platform.

That said, this is Facebook's first attempt to truly facilitate peer-to-peer transactions, and it could be huge. Venmo doesn’t publicize its user numbers, but as of November 2014 Facebook said it had 500 million users on Messenger. To become a formidable mobile-payments competitor, Facebook needs only a fraction of those people to start sending money. Venmo, watch out.

  4. "gutted to be going home."

I think the guys who are are "gutted to be going home" are guys who have stressful jobs that they don't enjoy which is a large percentage of people.

There were lots of things that I didn't enjoy at my old job and that's how I felt.  The day to day grind of work is a huge contrast to Disneyland For Adults.

Most Yanks don't get much vacation time so 49 weeks of work and 3 weeks of vacation is tough if you don't like your job.

Guys who are passionate about their jobs are quite fortunate.  Guys who "kind of like" their jobs, but have good bosses and co-workers are probably more typical though.  Then there are guys who hate their jobs and hate the people they work with but can not duplicate the money and benefits elsewhere.

Disneyland For Adults is a powerful drug.   Some guys never felt sexually deprived at home.  But my guess is the majority of guys never got all the sex they wanted from whomever they wanted it from.  So Thailand is like heaven. And Work like hell.

I don't regret moving to Thailand.  I have many cousins but no immediate family.  I had lots of friends back home, two of them are in Pattaya right now.  But have loads of new friends.   Almost all my new friends are into ladyboys which is sort of strange I guess.

I was happy enough at home.  It wasn't shit.  And I am happy enough in Thailand though the Disneyland has worn off.

If I could have my old apartment back at the same way below market price and my old job back (can't have either) then I'd go back and just take holidays to Thailand for awhile.  Looking back there's lots I could have done to make my job less stressful.  But I needed a break, a long break.

I'm kind of surprised that this particular thread stirred up emotions.  It's not a thread like "Is it wrong to give a ladyboy less than 1000 baht for shortime"  which is guaranteed to get heated.

Nobody has mentioned ladyboys in this thread.  I would think all the same feelings would apply if everyone here only went with GGs.  I guess ladyboy cock is just a bonus.

  5. But the song actually believed to be a referrntial tribute to a ragamuffin bunch of criminals based in Manchester called the Quality Street Gang, members of the gang frequented the bar which Lynott's mother ran

I used to hang out in a bar that had lots of petty thieves and these guys loved that song. Especially Crazy Jim, a guy I knew back in the day. It resonated these with young toughs who didn't have a clue what was going on in Manchester.  To me the lyrics sound very American.

  6.

BANGKOK: A “Happy Ending Hotel” is the last type of place you’d expect to end up if you’d booked through a reputable travel company but for some that is exactly where they found themselves after making an online booking with Agoda.com to stay at the Pretty Resort Hotel and Spa in northern Bangkok.

On the Agoda website the “hotel” has a three star rating, looks very nice from the dozen or so photos, boasts 50 rooms, free wi-fi and easy access to Don Muang airport.

What the popular travel booking website doesn’t say is this place is nothing more than a happy ending hotel aimed at Thais where you can get a 90 minute “relaxing message” for 1800 baht with a “topless model” or pay 2500 baht if you prefer your masseuse naked. Full sex services are also available for “guests” willing to part with around 4000 baht.

Upon arrival at the The Pretty Resort Hotel and Spa travelers were surprised to find 10 to 15 scantily clad young women hanging about the lobby whilst other visitors who booked thinking it was a legitimate hotel said the bedlinen was full of stains, no running water and the air-con broken.

Below are several reviews from the Agoda website:

Phongphanh C from the United States commented on January 9, 2015: “Do not meet hotel standards view as playboy house. Never to come visit again tell friends not safe. It’s not a hotel, very angry, the place is meant for playboy house. Very bad.”

Massiel L also from the USA has this to say on January 5, 2015: “Oh my lordy,,….. it was bad, I mean really bad. The hotel is not close to the airport…. very hard find, the cab driver and i were lost for. while, even with GPS in hand…. when we finally realized that the dodgy parking lot we were at was the hotel’s… There are many working ladies waiting for guests at the lobby… The sheets were stained with things you could only imagine.”

Yeong J from South Korea, March 30, 2014: “baaaaaaaaad, it was the worst experience in my life never want go back again. only thing you can get is comfortableness”

There are one or two comments from gentlemen who found the extra services offered a plus with at least one Brit saying he’d return, so maybe Agoda have tapped into a new niche by listing this type of happy ending hotel.

The girls pictured below who work at the “hotel” are taken from a forum page set up by the owners of the Pretty Resort who own a string of similar type “hotels” and massage parlours such as Pretty Relax, Super Model Spa and The Pretty – none of which are listed on Agoda as far as I could see.

A screenshot of the Agoda listing. I have a feeling it may be gone sooner rather than later.

  7. Are the little red songtheaws up in Chiang Mai known as baht bussesn or is only Pattaya terminology?

CHIANG MAI: Pictures of a scantily clad ladyboy standing at a red minibus full of passengers in Chiang Mai had social media users up in arms on Monday criticising the unknown flasher for inappropriate behaviour.

The drag queen was reported to be with a friend who was also wearing skimpy lingerie and the pair were strutting around the car park lined with buses exposing themselves for all to see, including young children.

The unidentified pair are believed to work in an entertainment venue with a ladyboy cabaret show that is located close to the car park where they were photographed on Sunday night.

Commenters said the pair presented a bad image for Thailand as there were said to be many tourists in the area at the time.

  8. I don't know which hotels near Soi Buakhao have short time rates.

In Pattaya, the Full Love Inn has a shortime rate of 280 baht but it's in an inconvenient location close to Club 4.

On Soi 13/3 there's a hotel that has a shortime rate of 300 baht.

On Soi 13/1 perhaps The House or LaBamba?

Near Action Street, Parinyas is 500 a night. Perhaps they have a shortime rate?  Think they have a safety box in the room.

If you find one, please let us know!

  9. The Army raided Sunee Plaza on Saturday night.

The boys were rounded up and given pee tests at the Double Shot Bar, formerly Corner Bar.

If tested clean then the boy's hand was stamped.

The video states customers were tested but this is believed Thais who are not actually employees of the bars.  My sources heard no rumors of farangs being tested.

  10. what does the below mean,.... at one time you could get intimate with this but im not sure if its allowed any more.

    ..i haven't but maybe one day .

  11. Dublin and New York have huge St Paddy's Day parades.  But Pattaya has one too.

There'll be plenty of guys wearing the green marching down Beach Road,  Supposedly starts at 3PM.

The staging area is at Alcazar, booths are there, and an opportunity for those inclined to donate to the Father Ray Foundation which has done great work with orphans for over decade.

I've also heard that in the evening there will be a party at Sensations.

Happy St Paddy's to all our Irish Forum Members!   :character00292::bad::Bug::coldb::Four Leaf Clover:

  12. With St Paddy's Day coming up, my guess is the quiz night we're in every week will have some Irish questions.

So if you have any hunches as to what questions could be asked, please post them now!

  13. I hate it when some people try to tell other people how they should spend their money.

If some people want to splash cash around and ring bells, up to them.  It's their money!

Others are on tight budgets and are careful with expenses, up to them.  It's their money!

I'm a Cheap Charlie although I prefer to think of it as living within my means.  I also like Lance's term "value for money".

My budget for daily expenses after rent is 500 baht a day or 15,000 baht a month.

This obviously does not allow for expensive farang food, at least not very often.   Or buying ladydrinks because some guy on some forum said that's what's expected of you.  Expect THIS.

This year I made the choice of upgrading my lodging.  Got tired of my teerak and I living in one room.  So my rent is an extra 250 baht a day.  I guess, I could suffer with one room and then buy ladydrinks when out on the town cause some guy on some forum said that's what I should do.

Other guys don't mind living in one room with their teerak.  Hey, I did that for the last 6 years. Up to them, it's their money,

Guys should do whatever the fuck they want to do with THEIR money and if someone tries to tell me what I should do with the money that I worked hard for then they can just go fuck themselves.  And the horse they rode in on!

So back to my budget. It might appear undoable. But there are many days when my only expense is cheap but delicious Thai food.

That means the extra 400 baht can be applied to the next day or the day after.

Sure it'd be nice to have extra spending money.  Could go for massages etc.

    But I don't feel deprived.

So maybe I walk home instead of springing for 10 baht on the baht bus.  Or hold it in rather that spending 5 baht for the bog.  My money, up to me.

  14.

    I enjoy my career fall.

Although I could retire now I'd be stupid to do so since I have a nice balance of home and travel as it is.

I quit my job 5 years after I discovered the sexual freedom of Thailand.

I wasn't enjoying my job anymore.

If I was enjoying my job and had more vacation time then I wouldn't have quit.

If I was better off financially I'd now split my time between New York and Thailand.
