  1. More Russians in the news:

Russian accused of attempted sexual assault of Pattaya Bar Worker

In the early hours of Tuesday, Police were called to Pattaya Third Road close to woodland to assist a 30 year old female bar worker who claimed she had just been dragged into woodland by a Russian who attempted to sexually assault her.

The Russian, Mr. Andrey Igvatyer aged 50, had sustained injuries which required hospital treatment, which were reportedly caused by the bar worker who claims to have defended herself by striking the Russian with a rock as he attempted to sexually assault her.

The bar worker, who cannot be named, told Police that she met the Russian in a bar she works at on Pattaya Second Road and he invited her to spend the night with him.

The pair left the bar and walked up to Pattaya Third Road. When they arrived at the area of woodland, she alleges Mr. Igvatyer pulled her into bushes and made attempts to sexually assault her.

The bar worker also sustained injuries consistent with being involved in a struggle with someone but refused medical treatment. She later reported the incident at Pattaya Police Station and Mr. Igvatyer, who was described as heavily intoxicated, was later detained at Pattaya Police Station pending further enquires.

Russian Bites Pattaya Police Officer during “Public Order” arrest

Just before daybreak on Wednesday, Pattaya Police arrested a Russian on public order offences after he was found sleeping in front of a Pattaya Hotel and during his transport to the Police Station he attempted to escape and bit a junior Police Officer in his leg.

The case began when a two-man Police Patrol spotted a foreign national sleeping on the street, in front of the Woodland Resort Hotel in Naklua. The officers approached the foreign man, who was identified as Russian and aged in his early thirties.

As the Russian awoke, he quickly became aggressive and it was decided to take him to Pattaya Police Station and incarcerate him until he had recovered from his intoxicated state.

The man was placed in the back of a Police Truck and his transport to Pattaya Police Station was assisted by Police Lance Corporal Anuchit, who sat close to him on the back of the truck to ensure his safety during the journey.

It was reported that as the truck travelled to the Station, he bit the leg of the Police Officer and then jumped off the back of the truck, but was detained in a matter of seconds and held until reinforcements arrived to restrain him during the rest of the short journey.

The Russian, who refused to give his name, was taken straight to the holding cells and was questioned later on Wednesday. We understand the officer decided not to take the case any further and the man was released without further action.

SURAT THANI — Police have arrested two Russians who allegedly sold homemade marijuana bongs via a Facebook page on the southern island of Koh Phan Ngan.

The arrest followed a police investigation into a now-deleted Facebook page, called Bong Russian Boss, which advertised homemade bamboo bongs and featured photos of the seller lying down in what appears to be marijuana plants.

The Facebook page claimed to be operated by Russians on Koh Pha Ngan - an island in the Gulf of Thailand known for its raucous, drug-fueled monthly Full Moon Parties.

Pol.Col. Prachum Ruengthong, superintendent of Koh Pha Ngan Police Station, said the operators of the Facebook page were arrested at their residence today.

According to Pol.Col. Prachum, police found eight Russian nationals at the house, along with a marijuana bong and approximately 304 grams of marijuana.

Two 29-year-old Russian men, named Serge and Constantin, identified themselves as owners of the drugs and operators of the Facebook page, police say.

"They made their own bongs to smoke marijuana with their friends, and then announced that they would sell the bongs to compatriots on the island, because they didn't think it would violate Thai laws," Pol.Col. Prachum said, adding that Constantin and Serge often host parties for other Russians at their residence.

Under Thai laws, bongs are not illegal, though the two Russians have been charged with possession of Category 5 Drugs (marijuana). Police also took down the personal details of the other six Russians but released them without charges.

  5. The massage shop where my terai works provides them with some sort of health insurance but she is restricted to certain hospitals, Banglamung may be one.

Then there is the 30 baht scheme inaugurated by Thaksin. I'm fuzzy on the details but perhaps it is only good in one's home province.

    Anyone have more info?

  6. Martial law may be lifted.

Section 44 of the interim Constitution would replace it.

Section 44 of the interim charter gives the NCPO chief absolute power over executive, legislative and judicial decisions and allows it to overrule judicial and legislative authority.

Flight OX682 was carrying Chinese tourists home from Phuket when the engine failed, and the rate of descent was so fast many passengers suffered from nosebleeds and fainted due to the sudden loss of altitude.

Some flight attendants reportedly began crying and oxygen masks were deployed, before the flight was stabilised and forced to make an emergency landing in Kunming, China.

Passenger Lixue Ku, 47, told the Daily Mail people were screaming and crying as they feared the plane would break apart in the sky or crash.

"I kept thinking about that plane crash in France, and I was convinced we were going to go the same way, but then the plane evened out," he said. "Everyone was in shock, even the staff."

After the emergency landing in Kunming province, the passengers were transferred to another flight to Chengdu while others received medical attention.

China Daily also reported the compensation has not been discussed.

  9. A warning for vulnerable foreign tourists!         :flirt2:

In the early hours of Saturday Police assisted an intoxicated foreign man, aged in his mid-twenties, after he was pickpocketed by two Ladyboy’s inside Soi 7 off Pattaya Beach Road.

Police were called to the area by the concerned manager or the Shooters Bar which picked-up the incident on their security camera system.

The man had been drinking inside the bar with a friend and was reportedly heavily intoxicated. He stumbled outside the bar in order to smoke a cigarette when he encountered a Ladyboy who proceeded to steal his wallet. He then left on a motorbike driven by a second Ladyboy who was waiting, with the engine running, nearby.

Police assisted the foreign victim and took him to Pattaya Police Station to make a report but he decided not to proceed with the case. Despite this, Pattaya Police would like us to publish this story to highlight the ever-present dangers of Ladyboy’s and other criminal elements who prey on vulnerable foreign tourists around Pattaya City.

  10.

A 25 year old Chinese Tourist is currently in a coma after he inexplicably jumped off the back of a travelling Baht Bus in Central Pattaya in the early hours of Monday.

Police and medics rushed to the scene and attended to Mr. We Illei, who was unconscious and appeared to have a serious head injury.

A friend of the victim told Police that they had been out together and both were intoxicated. They had earlier been involved in a fight with a woman inside a Bar in North Pattaya and it was decided that they should retreat to their Hotel in South Pattaya and hailed a Baht Bus to take them back to their place of residence.

The victim’s friend stopped Mr. Illei from jumping off the travelling Baht Bus a number of times until he actually fell off head-first onto the street on Pattaya 3rd Road in Central Pattaya.

Mr. Illei is currently being fully assessed by Doctors at Hospital but is currently in a coma. Police suspect his intoxicated state combined with his emotional state caused by the earlier fight, lead him to jump off the Baht Bus.

  11. Just out of interest if they have two pilots one can just clunk the other over head , strangle him or render him useless or spike his cola or whatever... is that not so...

    I dunno.

A cockpit brawl is a very different animal than crashing a plane.

My guess is that if the pilot had never left the cockpit there would have been no crash.

I'm not sure if a suicidal guy wants to get into a fist fight and kill a man with his bare hands or maybe lose and be shamed while he's still alive.

OTOH, I suppose a train engineer could cause a crash and kill lots more people.
