    Staunch union member here, too.

I wouldnt say I am a "staunch" member myself.  Like I said there are pros and cons.  Especially what I have been through personally. I glad one is on the property!

A lot pf people think the USA should be more like Europe.  If that were the case, our industry, airlines, would be able to strike at the drop of a hat.  Imagine all the bitching and moaning that would cause in this country!!!!

  2. Thats good to know.  When I am in Thailand, I spend almost all my time in bangkok thats just down to lifes circumstances.  i usually take a 2 night trip down to Pattaya and usually in the middle of the week.  I gather these meet and greets usually happen on a Friday or Saturday to maximise sales.  Nothing wrong with that!!!

  3. Any excuse to go to Katy's.  Been there a couple of times and have had a good time both times.  Now it might have had to do with the fact that I took a kitten.  I would say the same even if I didnt.  Teya really seems to run that place.  Not only is she hot and horny but it seems she holds that place together.  Hope Emmy appreciates her work habits.

Hope she has a great turnout for her b'day and has a money necklace that wraps around her bod a couple of times!!!

Had a couple of buddies go there a few weeks ago and bought a lot of lady drinks in a few hours there.  They had a great time.  I wonder of a couple of guys spending big like that for one night if it makes their entire week?

  4. Talked to someone on Bangers that lives in a high rise and said it was shaking!  Scary!  It must have been a pretty shallow one!!!  Been in a couple of mild ones, its a strange feeling indeed!!

Archie... may i ask where is Au Bon Pain? Am not all that familiar with Pattaya, but am heading down there soon to buy a raincoat....

BBG-the Au Bon Pain to which I refer is in Bangkok.  Sorry for any confusion.  Its in the Siam Paragon Mall.  Some wondeful eye candy both local and farang!!!

  6. Not to thread fuck but, when in Bangers, I will take the time to have lunch at Paragon.  After lunch I head to the Au Bon Pain, order an espresso and find a perch in order to watch the traffic.  There is some incredible eye candy!!!  When my buddy is in town, we sit there together and watch the world go by.  A couple of right perves we are!!!!  Guilty as charged!!!

There are numerous reasons why that will not be the case and many ways to avoid the 40% threshold, especially if you plan accordingly.

I'm not interested in your personal circumstances, but for a single person anything in your estate over £325k will be taxed at 40%, £650k if you're married. Personal pensions are exempt and tax free to nominated benificiaries if you expire before 75 years of age etc.. There are also property considerations as well,  plus other ways to legally lessen your inheritance tax liabilities. Perhaps do some research, if you're wealthy, or get some legal advice on the matter.

Uninformed comments sometimes require correction as they may mentally impact the lesser informed in a negatve manner. Please don't be offended.

A 40% tax on money that has already been taxed when you croak is an outrage!!  Its never enough for these govt leeches!!!

I am an investor but not that sophisticated.  if I were to "retire" in Thailand, then I would be at the mercy of the exchange rates.  What type of investment vehicle would one make so that if the baht gets stronger against my currency, then my pile actually goes up???

  8. This is right up my alley.  Not into it in my younger days and wish I had gotten into that scene.

Was talking to a lass in  at Katy Bar the last time I called in and she expressed an interest in that sort of thing-hummmmmm.

  9. Some of these "one bedroom" units are little more than chopped up studios.  I had a look at a very nice, new building recently and the rooms were sooooooo tiny.  It was a no go for me living there.  The "living room" couldnt even fit my couch.  That would be a major stumbling block for a possible Chez Archie.

BTW this building was on Bangkok but about 20-30 km from the main "downtown" areas. The MRT reaches out there and theres a more laid back vibe to it......

  10. It sounds like a bargain!!  Having said that, I would think there would be bothersome noise.  Couldnt handle that.  Even when I take a break in Pattaya, I have my business done and I am in bed by midnight!!!

  13. Called in to sweethearts this week.  It was early, about 0930, and my buddy and I were the only two customers.  saw a couple of luscious LBs.  there werent too many about.  Town is quiet and it was a bit early for LBs and many LB mongers alike.

The drinks were cold and the girls didnt pester us or linger too long.  I eventually bought Belle a drink and she was delightful but I just wasnt feeling it that night.  her loss, right??  LOL!!!  I would definitely go back and give this place another try!!

  14. Years ago there was a stretch were I got stopped.  It must have been about 3,4 times in a row.  this was in New York in JFK.  I no longer fly through there.  anyway, I was at the front of the plane and got off first.  If it wasnt busy I would breeze through immigration, then high tail it to the exit.  I only had a carry on.

the officers would question me but hardly like John got questioned.  Think they were looking for drugs and I think I only had my bag inspected once or twice-nothing to see here.  I have watched too many episodes of Locked Up Abroad!!!  LOL!!  Now, almost never.

Sometimes they see all these stamps and ask how long I have been away.  Luckily, I am able to stay away for longer periods and I think that raises red flags.  They ask my occupation and when I tell the "Flight crew" they waive e through.  Having said that, I just read about two South African flight attendants that got caught with about 30 Kg of coke!!!  OUCH!!!!

  15. When i was new to the scene, I would be much more inclined to visit a bar if there were a high profile farang there in the bar.  Now, i really couldnt give a toss.  Not a big bar goer these days.  What makes me want to visit a bar?  this is in no order:  Talent, decent prices, no bs no drama.

No bs, no drama means no girls or staff pestering you for drinks or hovering around you like a vulture.  forgot no loudly, obnoxious music.....
