just save your money, all this planning might be fun for you, but not so much for readers methinks. LOTS will change by the time you GET there and then yer plans will be shit.  The BEST time I ever had was just to hit the ground running and go with the flow.

hope you're right about 2021, personally I'm thinking 2022...maybe.  (I think the elites in charge are using the virus to wipe the "cheap place for lots of great sex and drinking" slate clean and turn it into a normal boring tourist destination.)

6 or 7 years ago I would book the trip then make a list of places and girls to visit....it didn't work , I found some cuties by wondering around.

  4. No unfortunately,  as with any franchise there are strict rules on what you sell and for how much but John ( handbag on the other forum) did say he is very happy investing in them .

He can do things a bit easier than us because he is a Thai but worked in the states for many years .

there we moseyed to find that the store has a new wonderful coffee machine with all the bells and whistles.. honestly it looked like a command console that has been designed for the moon-rocket that a certain Thai minister has announced recently will orbit the moon in 7 years time. Maybe sooner if they can obtain a strong-enough rubber band.

I agree what you are saying about coffee thingy, BBG they do look scary and all the noises they make ,I will just stick to the instant 3 in 1 I have of a morning

  6. The 7-11 stores are a good investment,  a mate of mine ( who was banned from the other forum because they thought he was me ) that lives in Udon has just bought his 4th 7-11 and says they are a really good franchise to be in and way cheaper and less hassle than MacDonald's

I'm red/green colour blind and have difficulty sometimes in differentiating between some Thai banknotes, especially in low lighting.

I don't understand why Governments make their different value bank notes so similar. Aren't US notes like that too?

At least the UK sterling £5, £10, £20 and £50 notes are different sizes and different designs and colours so it's easy to see which is which.

    Yep I hear ya , I am red/green too.

I look at the amount on the note first , it can also be tricky getting a driver's license in Thailand you have to do a colour test when applying

Thanks gentlemen.  I feel like I am doing a worthy job when my Romscar announcements are followed by BM cheers for the winners...

As you may have gathered by now, I give out Romscars and I give out ad hoc Romscars with the latter being my own personal choice to acknowledge BMs who did something unique during the year or just to lighten things up.  THEEE Romscars (tout court) are far more meaningful as they underscore the choices of multiple BMs and they concern broader categories that repeat themselves every year: BM of the Year; TR of the Year; Photographer of the Year; Ladyboy of the Year; etc; etc.   The exception since I moved the circus from PY to LBR has been "Moderator of the Year" which used to be a crowd favorite at PY, but here I realized pitting Pdoggg against Bumblebee was not gonna fly.

All this to say that this year I would like to add another 3 FULL Romscar categories and I need BMs' help.  2020 being the year of covid, it ruined our mongering prospects, but it ruined even more the lives of countless Thais who make it possible for us to have such a good time when we are in their country.  But some members of our community on the ground actually did something to help those whose incomes were more adversely affected by covid, and so I felt it timely to add in 2020 3 "Jai-Dee" Romscars to acknowledge them.  As you might now, Jai-Dee  (ใจดี) translates as "good-hearted" which is exactly what the Romscars seeks to be about (being nice for the sake of being nice, excellence, courtesy).

Not having been to Thailand since January 2020 (just before the pandemic) all I have to go by is what I read here and at PY.   I have been very impressed with what M and the TJ bumblebettes have done in terms of supporting their neighboring Naklua community with food and medicine distribution and, not less importantly, raising morale with the ladyboys' beauty and grace in interacting with the more desperate.  Across town, Herbert has taken the lead to likewise support in kind and with encouragement the underemployed P4Ps and non-P4Ps of soi Chayapoom and nearby Buakhao.   So I would like to be the first to throw my hat into the ring with my well-meaning but perhaps too partially-informed nominations:

Romscar for 2020 Jai-Dee BM of the Year:   Herbert

Romscar for 2020 Jai-Dee Ladyboy of the Year:   ????

Romscar for 2020 Jai-Dee Bar of the Year:  TJ's Music Bar

Please may I hear about these and other worthy candidates from more BMs, especially those of you on the field of play who witnessed unsung acts of excellence and kindness in assisting those more adversely affected by covid in the ladyboy community at large?

Herberth I think went far beyond a standard falung bar owner with his food hand outs , I even noticed some expats lined up to so for me my vote is Herb

    TJ's for number two

... plus he stocks Beer Lao dark (possibly one of the best malt liquors in the world) AND he treated me to some on the house...  As of now, 2 BM "Ayes" plus my own concurrence makes Herberth the frontrunner for Bar Owner of the Year and Delirious a TOP10 bar of the year contender.

Sorry but "Nays" carry no weight in the Romscars as it is all about positivity (as in the Romscars first tenet "be nice for the sake of being nice").  The negative stuff is best left ignored as I used to do at PY which left the hater pricks even more frustrated.  Yes!... perhaps in the initial enthusiasm of the new D club we were seeing too many brands of Scotch threads in the New Content list, but so what?  It happened with ALL clubs, including the Romscars, as we sought to claim our space in the Board.

Anyone else has anything NICE to say about any fellow BM who deserves to be acknowledged for his mongering deeds and/or Board contributions in 2020 ?   I am thinking of awarding next the Romscars for TR of the Year and Photographer of the Year and the frontrunners as of now are Snoop and Bumblebee...

Herberth must be doing something right, apart from getting punters in his bar he also gets other bar owners drinking there regularly. I don't drink alcohol bit I have to say he sure does stock his bar some all kinds of refreshments that I have not seen in other bars and of course he is now getting copied by other bars .

I have already voted for Emmy for bar owner ,is it permitted to have two votes? ( I am undesired on who to pick )

    Well deserved!    :drinks:

Herberth and his better half should certainly be contenders for Barowner of the Year.  Delirious Bar on numerous occasions distributed free food during the Covid crisis to Thais whose incomes dried up overnight.  Giving back to less fortunate in the community even your bar income halts abruptly is admirable.

He's a very personable guy who came up with a unique concept, premium whisky, hard rock music, and ladyboys on one of the more charming sois of Sin City, Soi Pothole.

    Agreed Mr.P
