Speaking of the NEP prices (and including Guess), I was shocked last night when Guess bar said their bf is now 800? Weren't they always cheaper than NEP - 500 vs. 600?
That's how I remembered it, but I hadn't been there in a year+. When did they change it?
So I thought maybe it was some kind of "flood tax"? Like they jacked the prices up because of the lack of customers. The typical Thai supply/demand reverse logic, lol.
So I went over the Cascade and they were still the same - 600.
There are two categories of staff at Guess Bar - the "service" team who look after drinks, etc. and the "hostess" team - who are there to entertain the customers. The barfines for service staff are more (600 Baht) and for the hostess staff it remains at 500 Baht.

GOP means "Grand Old Party" which is a nick name for the Republican Party.

Great photos Stealth - thanks for sharing! The Filipina lb contests are not well publicized, although things are improving with Youtube, etc.
There's always a large contingent of Filipinas to Miss International Queen - one of these years, they are bound to win!

No. 14, Silkie O Hara Munro, from USA
two of no. 15, Karin Fujikawa from Japan
and two of no. 16, Margaret from Lebananon. She was 2nd runner up. There was a nice story about the contest in the Nation, which gave some background on her. Her parents separated when she was young. She was given up for adoption and grew up in Manila, Philippines.

Yes, I was actually surprised how full the theatre was considering the flooding problems in Bangkok!
Some more photos:
two of no. 4, Chamila from Sri Lanka
followed by two of no. 5, Sirapassorn Atthayakorn (Nong Sammy) from Thailand the eventual winner
Then two of no. 6, Lucky from China who won the talent competition.

I was able to get my flight changed to make it in for the contest.
Unfortunately the only tickets left were for the balcony seats, which made it difficult to get good shots of the faces, since they were looking down at the judges on the main floor.
So without further ado, here are some of the photos from the contest.
The first photo is MIQ 2010, Mini from Korea doing an opening number.
Followed by two photos of contestant no. 1, Yasmin Dream from Brazil.
Then one photo of Sahara from Nigeria (but living in the UK). She was first runner up, and is very tall, well over 6' tall in heels.
Last two photos of no. 3, Mariane Arguelles first of two from Philippines.

Yes, you are correct. Nana Plaza is in the Klong Toei district - I checked the address of the post office and it states it is in the Klong Toei district.
For anyone visiting Bangkok during the floods - I would recommend you DO NOT use tap water to brush your teeth, until they have sorted out problems with the contamination of the water treatment plant from the floods.

DownLoLarry, if you are thinking about use it to administer the forum, it probably isn't the best device to use.
IPad's are designed with light use in mind - browsing the net, word processing, e-mail, etc.
I would suggest you buy a low end PC laptop if you want to administer the forum. Also Windows 7 is a great improvement over Vista and more stable than Windows XP.

Qatar Airways is a good airline - on par with Emirates and Etihad. The only drawback would be the stop over in Doha - not really one of the best airports for a transit. However, they are opening a new airport in 2012 that should improve things.
Of course without unions, they hire particularly attractive flight attendants.

Some more contestant photos from Miss Ripley's Popular Internet Vote. There are 25 contestants, and some firsts - contestants from China, Russia, Nigeria (although she lives in UK), Lebanon, Cuba and Willis and Fortuna (never heard of the place!). This upcoming week there will be many activities, some free to the public. For those in Pattaya, keep your eyes open and cameras ready!

She likely doesn't have regular access to the internet. I'm sure she'll reply when she has the chance to get back on line!
Just for interest - there have been Nepalese lbs competing in Miss International Queen for the last few years. Here are some photos from MIQ 2010 contestant, Meghna Lama (likely a stage name).

The numbers in the NEP and Guess Bar are underestimated in the previous post.
Obsessions has about 90 lbs on staff
Cascade has about 100 lbs on staff
Temptation has about 20 lbs on staff
Casanova has about 30 lbs on staff
Plus there are a number of postops working the gg bars in NEP (not many FM interested in this - estimated number is around 30)
Guess Bar has about 30 lbs on staff.
So in just the area of 2 blocks there are around 300 lbs available p4p. This isn't counting the number of freelancers around (not recommended for a newbie).
In Patpong a 20 min taxi ride away or 15 min by Skytrain and walk there is KC3 that has around 60-70 lbs on staff, plus KC which has around 40 postop lbs and 30 ggs.
For someone on a short visit, say around a week or so, whose main goal is to shag as many lbs as possible, BKK wins hand down. No need to take Baht buses going from bar to bar looking for that special someone - just a few minutes walk from bar to bar in NEP and Guess to chose from around 300 lbs.
