  1. Maybe it's not fair to judge a singer by one song, so just for shits and giggles I found some more of her stuff on youtube. It confirmed for me what I got from the first song. She is awful. She couldn't carry a note in a bucket. Berklee School of Music should be embarrassed, but I guess they couldn't make a silk purse out of a....well you get my drift. Maybe she would be good to sing to elementary school kids, songs like one of her others, titled "98". I was laughing and crying same time it was so bad. But when I was in 4th grade, maybe I would have liked it a lot. Young Bishonen, you are a really funny guy. BJ Snowden indeed. :lolu: Everyone else were giving us their actual real choices for favorite singer. Now that you had your fun, how about telling us who your real favorites are?
  2. Well I guess you had a good laugh trying to wind me up young fella, but I'm not taking the bait. She is no more than a run of the mill singer. She isn't even in key half the time.
  3. I know you are joking, because after listening to that song she sung, no person with half a brain would think she is anywhere remotely close to as good as Alanis. I hope that is not representative of the best she has to offer. I'd be shocked beyond belief if you could even one other member of this forum to seriously agree with you that she is better than Alanis. So Fred likes her. Does he also erroneously believe she is better than Alanis? BTW, we have good relations with Canada my young Bishonen even without that song.
  4. I heard back in the day that Joan is bi. So it makes sense that she would not need to alter any of the lyrics for this great country classic. What an amazing voice. I think she may be my #2 all time female singer after my darling Alanis. Sammy lad, my favorite male singer is also a Canuck, the great Leonard Cohen. What do you make of that? My dear mother was also from north of the border, so I always have held special feelings for Canada. Heck I'd like to see them take the west coast of the USA and merge it was Canada and leave the rest of the states to just pound sand. If the would have us that is.
  5. Joan Baez was/is frigging amazing. This first song was back in the late 1960s when she was young. Then the 2nd one she is in her 60s back in 2005. Her voice has remained just as strong and clear as ever.
  6. Another lady who could really belt out a song like few others....Grace Slick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oRKvpZ7PjE
  7. No thread celebrating our wonderful Irish friends would be complete without this song. Not sure if Roger was Irish, but he does it as well as anyone.
  8. I think your typical Scotsman can drink pretty good too. So if we combined your Japanese given first name with your Irish last name, you would be Bishonen McConaughey. Right? Yes!
  9. OH MY GOD, Bishonen, after hearing that rendition I am speechless. There are no words to accurately convey how that made me feel, so I will use a common internet acronym. ROFLMAO
  10. Another singer I like very much is Lavay Smith. She has a swing jazz band too called The Red Hot Skillet Lickers. The name came from paying homage to two bands that she and her partner Chris Seibert admired a lot. Red and The Red Hots, and Gid Tanner and The Skillet Lickers. She has a superb voice that has been compared to jazz great Dinah Washington.
  11. Karl also did that with me. One night though I made several requests for songs I don't usually listen to, so he didn't equate them as favs of mine. 3-4 anyway, I requested and he played. I was sitting there next to him, just thinking about making one more request. The song I was thinking of asking him play was Zombie. I thought no, I won't ask, I made enough request for one night. The very next song Karl plays...is Zombie!!! I said, Karl WTF? You can read my thoughts!!! He just grinned his ol' Karl grin, mumbled something in his Welsh accent, and that was it. I gave up long ago trying to understand what he says. LOL. Seriously though, what are the odds? I've never even heard Karl play Zombie before. It's overplayed at lots of bars, but not heard it from Karl. Then here I am sitting there thinking to myself that I would like to hear it right about now, and lo and behold, Karl plays it next song. Be careful what you are thinking around him because if he can read my thoughts he can also read anyone else's. Perhaps he sold his soul to the devil in exchange for the ability to read minds. 55555.
  12. I agree Lung about Lucinda Williams. I think most of your typical man on the street types have never even heard of her. I love Bonnie Raitt too. So without further ado, here are my favs from these very talented ladies.
  13. So anyway, Siam Sam just got released after a stretch in the hoosegow and was about to make love to his wife Mrs Sam for the first time in months. He says can we turn the lights off honey? She says of course, anything for you my darling. He asks, can I make love to you from behind? She says yes, whatever you like. Sam says, can I call you Pedro?
  14. I like these Alanis songs very much too. One reason is because she plays harmonica in them. Girls who can play musical instruments, harmonica, guitar, bass, sax, whatever, are extra sexy to me.
  15. This reminds me of the time I was out walking with kahuna and PDogg. PD said windy isn't it? I said, no it's Thursday. Kahuna said, so am I. Let's go get a beer.
  16. Good call on Dusty, BB. She had the talent to have been much more successful than she was. Too bad she wasn't better managed. She could have reached Madonna like status. My favorite by her:
  17. Alanis is more than just a vocalist. She is also a songwriter and a musician. She can do it all. The #1 female recording artist of all time in terms of album sales. Easily my favorite. Not because she is Canadian either, Mr Sambo. Fuck. I may be shallow but I'm not fucking shallow. She is however, besides being supremely talented, also ideal in terms of female beauty. It would be impossible for me to name one favorite song of hers. Too many good ones. This one ranks right up there though.
  18. In Japan, is it true the name they call you is Bishonen?
  19. Same two girls in another video, down on the street now. They pass a sign that says Kiadok. That's Hungarian word for "publishers." http://video.xnxx.com/video253075/2_lesbians_drink_piss_in_public
  20. I just stumbled across a longer version. 5:23 in length. Maybe easier to figure where it was filmed now. I'm going to say it is in Hungary. http://video.xnxx.com/video261492/piss_drinking_in_public
  21. sigh...envy, thy name is Sammy... :p
  22. Here is a video with Charlie Sheen's comments about the earthquake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YojYX9v5h0Q&feature=player_embedded
  23. This is the more often played version and IMO the best one out there. Nobody does it better than The Dubliners
  24. Here is one of the versions of the great Irish song, Whiskey in the Jar. This is a simpler version than some others and I sing it to my friend Janabiyah, at his request of course, when we are celebrating life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness at one of the local bars. As a bonus, you get to see what Korat Air Base looked like at the peak of the Vietnam war. The extra audio at the end is not part of the song of course. Radio transmissions from back then.
  25. Thanks guys. Poor ol' Sammy is going be saddened perhaps by the gap between our numbers. It's ok Sam, don't let it get you down.
