Given the prices its always busy and seems very popular with guys who live in Pattaya and who are probably on a budget .
A bit like a works canteen its rare to get a table alone and you just gotta grab a spare seat when you see one .
The guy who serves has toes upturned on one foot like he's been tortured by the Kray brothers or something so best not to look down too much when tucking into your lunch
its the young girl server I feel sorry for, she just appears to hate being there so much, seems to be a family business so obviously not there by choice at such a young age

Tin cup is one of my favourites.
Not just because it's difficult to spend 100bht inc. a beer but the food is always fresh and tasty.
Shame they've trimmed their opening hours as it was a great early morning drop-in prior to jimjams time.

one small problem is that is, it very hot in there,, but I don't stay long so not a real big thing, like others if too busy I just don't go, only went once in 26 days this trip as it was always too busy for my liking

there is another cheap place, that serves English and Thai food just as, you enter New plaza on left hand side coming from Second Rd,, can't remember the name though

In the past, I've always recommended the Woraburi as the best budget hotel based on the very reasonable price and a nice rooftop pool.
But recently the Woraburi seems to be charging a bit ore than previously and the Ibis a bit less making them both good budget choices.
If a swimming pool is a plus for you then go with the Woraburi. But if you're not going to use the pool then the Ibis may be better for you as the rooms are a bit newer, the staff a bit firendlier, and it's a closer walk to Nana. The 5 minute vs 10 minute walk certainly helps if it is raining. But even with good weather, sometimes it's nice to be able to quickly pop into the room.
They both have good breakfast buffets which sometimes is free if using Booking.com. Brekkie is normally priced at 200 baht which is a fair price but I often dont want to wake up early for breakfast. Note the Ibis breakfast ends at around 10:30 though in the room they indicate a free light breakfast to noon which doesnt exist but is a pretty good idea for late risers.
I booked the Ibis for one night as I didn't think I'd be using the pool, both hotels were about the same price nd I was curious.
Ibis has a safe big enough for a laptop. Think the Woraburi does too but I forget and am not 100% sure their safe fits a laptop.
For a long stay I'd still choose the Woraburi for the pool but for a short stay might pick the Ibis.
If booking wither through Booking.com please use the links on our sister sites. We earn a small commission at no extra cost to you which helps defray Ladyboy Review's operational expenses.
or you, can, stay, at The Swan Inn on soi 4 like I, did last night 700 baht,,, no, pool,, no room safe, decent other than that, great location between the Ibis and NEP ,, and at least 3 Philipina, Lbs (that I, met last night ) staying there now, the one in room 2 is particularly hot, hence a visit to my room :)

I think the Tin Cup place on Buakhao has excellent food but am reluctant to go there unless I see that there aren't too many customers whi haven't been served yet.
is that the place beside the gold shop with big red sign (few doors south of Nidcha, same side)?

couldn't find an existing thread about this so anyways thought I would chime in with 2 on my beloved soi 6, Jimmy Macs cheap breakfast, cheap sandwiches 70 bht and quite good, cheap beer and 70 bht wine but closes at 6pm and just down the soi towards km Beach Rd is Jack Tar bar bigger menu than Jimmy's, cheap beer as well (happy hour even) again cheap but good sammies, and open till midnight so 2 great little gems with good cheap food and drink and amazing people watching as you can imagine right in the thick of it

just thought I would give a big heads and thumbs up to a little place I discovered and have been eating at everyday, it is called Noi restaurant mid way down soi Honey on south side of soi, beside Honey bar (not Honey pot bar), the food is great, it is very cheap (as in street food prices) 40 baht for fried rice, curries 80 baht,, anyways run by a very friendly mother /daughter,, great place to sit and watch the soi Honey scene and world go by, and u can use the Honey bars WiFi as well, :) anyways very nice people who deserve to do well,
sorry no burgers and fries 555

so, I was up awake way too early this morning to go to the dentist and decided to check out the breakfast buffets on offer, the 99 baht Sawasdee hotel buffets have very little to offer and in my opinion best to pay the extra 50 baht for the Apex and Lek hotel buffets, went by the Centara Azure in soi 15 was 200 baht looked better quality food than Apex and Lek and definitely a very nice room to sit in very new and nice date type room but it finishes at 10:30am way too early imo(other 2 at 1pm) went by casa Pascal and great quality offerings for 250, smaller selection though

I bought one of these Bose speakers last month in Pattaya and it has been brilliant to carry around and listen to Talksport while my phone was on charge.
I was worried that I would not be able to bring it back to the UK when I flew home last Thursday so I carried it in my hand luggage and showed it the girl at the check in counter, she asked me to turn it on and it says something like "bluetooth connected", she then says to me "ok, no problem" and I am off through the baggage check and onto the plane with it
As the UK ban does not include Qatar and the UAE and as I fly with either Qatar or Emirates airlines I shall be taking it back to Pattaya with me
where did you buy it (have seen bar room hawkers selling them but always leary about them ) and how much you pay?

Good topic GT!
I think the breakfast at the Apex, which, I believe is still 150 baht, is an excellent value.
As with any breakfast buffet, I reckon the food is fresher in the early morning.
If you like to have multiple cups of coffee or glasses of juice, it really stacks up well against the Irish Rovers 99 baht non-buffet breakfast. For breakfast, I like to have at least 2 big cups of coffee while at I Rovers you get one tiny cup.
But I am not a morning person and not hungry until a few hours after I wake up so the only time I go to Apex is if I'm up all night and hungry. I guess most guys who monger very late might stumble home around 5am when it's not yet open. But if watching say NFL playoffs it could be the right time.
But in general, I avoid all u can eat places because I eat too much and then just want to go home and digest rather than continue the night at bars.

Why Not Bangkok
in Bangkok
Posted
just wanted to say I had any enjoyable night at the bar a few nights ago not just because of the hot ladies but the way poesface runs his bar is a very refreshing change from most /all other LB bars in Bkk, no LD drink pressure whatsoever and when given your change from check bin they don't just stand there waiting for a tip, I made the mistake of going to NEP just after there and noticed the difference right away, walked in and was hassled for drinks the second I sat down followed quickly by continously badgering me to bar fine them, needless to say I had 1 beer at Chili bar and got the fuck outta Nana, anyways I will be back for sure as it the only LB bar in Bkk I feel relaxed in
