Covid19 : disastrous fallout in Saigon

At the end of May, the Vietnamese government had taken measures to slow down contaminations by Covid variants alpha (British variant) and delta (Indian variant). It had been explained that Prime Minister's directives 15 and 16 would be applied where the situation requires (Chỉ thị 15 & 16). Since then, many «non essential» businesses and shops had been closed. As usual, night bars and discos had been the first ones that had to close, then inhabitants of Ho Chi Minh city waited for reopening complying casually with social distanciation rules. However, more than the half of the population was jobless and needed to save money.

Most of the ladyboys working in bars went back to their provinces. However, bar ladyboys are less than 10 % of the ladyboys in p4p. Another population of ladyboys that was impacted were ladyboys working as models in all kind of shows and fairs. Businesses that employed them couldn’t work any longer. Another group of ladyboys didn’t feel affected at first. These are unemployed ladyboys who make 100 % of their income meeting customers. Ladyboys in «the industry» started feeling nervous however, since they were losing customers and competitors started placing adds. As a matter of fact, ladyboys with a regular job such as sales ladies in shops had to find money and started placing adds in the same websites as «escorts». Moreover, a website got saturated and couldn’t accept new adds what destabilized the industry.

A few ladyboys whose jobs were suspended easily found activities in charity organizations. Although the population of Saigon seems to be rich, the city is also full of old people with low incomes. I saw videos and pics of such ladyboys packing food to distribute to old people.

Meanwhile, food supplies started slowing down. It was due retrictions in transportations as well as small shops closing one by one since they couldn’t find food at affordable prices. This triggered a new kind of crisis made of food shortages and prices increases. I could see that ladyboys would eat fewer and fewer meat, then less vegetables and last week, many would eat instant noodles only to avoid starving.

I was told that charity organizations stopped being supplied in food. In the same time prices started increasing. For example, 10 eggs costed 21,000 VND 2 or 3 weeks ago, then the price increased to 35,000 VND last week and reached 70,000 VND before the week-end.

After one month and half living with substitutes for regular jobs or usual activities, a new deal totally degraded living conditions in HCMC. On July 8th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Main decided to implement directive 16 in HCMC from July 9th (last Friday). In other words, no one is allowed to go out, street vendors may no longer sell food in the streets and many shops selling food had to remain closed. Food supply is under the control of the Vietnamese administration. The people who could use cars rushed to supermarkets. Supermarkets (grocery stores) aren’t the cheapest places to find food in Vietnam opposite to Europe but they were the only places that could still provide Vietnamese people with meat and vegetables. This is how prices suddenly skyrocketed to unacceptable levels for low class people.

Anyone found hanging in the street without official authorization from Friday shall be fined 3 million VND (about US$ 130.00 / € 111.00). Steet vendors shall be fined 15million VND ((about US$ 645.00 / € 555.00). The most fragile people had to suffer from these decisions. I saw the panic among ladyboys.

A 30 years old ladyboy was given my contact by a mate of her and asked me for 7.5 million VND for SRS and become my girlfriend (LOL). Not so funny, an 18 years old sweetheart declared that covid had impacted her life as she would have never figured it out. I helped her pay for her rent and she has no money to purchase food. She’s waiting for help in her room.

Today, I read about the new organization. Only a couple of designated by the police persons are allowed to go out and purchase food for the inmates of their building. A friend of mine told me that Jessica is one of them. Some people have no money to purchase food, so she uses money sent sent by sponsors abroad to purchase them some food. I am trying to know more about her bank connection. Help is needed and welcome even small amounts. (*)

As previously posted, I don't really believe in legends but you have a great talent to write stories and draw cartoons on whatever you want to be a legend. Some of us will probably criticize you if you nominate PY leaders but we'll be always happy to read from your legends.

I started with a closed club and tried to be selective. I didn't accept members I must have confused with some one else. 

As you above descrobed, our legends are just legends held by bar customers or more simply good memories we'd like to keep in mind but that are not interesting for those who didn't experience the same stories.

Reading this thread again, I am wondering what the OP means when he speaks of legends. I read about a supposed legend once in PY. A Chinese man had asked for tips and every one imagined he was lost in Bangkok. Meanwhile, He had reached Pattaya, barfined ladyboys and shot photos of the ladyboys wearing the Popular Army uniforms. That Chinese man was known under the name of Lengcj. The guy made another attempt to monger in Vietnam. He’d headed to Đảo Cát Bà and found no ladyboy. There is no ladyboy hanging in Hạ Long bay unless you manage to invite one from Hanoi. The guy remained as a «legend» although he turned up to be a neurotic with a strong pathological case.

So I don’t understand why you want to celebrate legends that are people who decided to be your ennemy in this virtual world. So far, you had been interesting with your cartoons since they seemed to come out on the spur of the moment and they surprised everyone. IMHO, you should keep on drawing your cartoons without thinking too much and keeping in mind how you find a situation funny.

Regarding supposed legends, have you ever made a cartoon with Lursarluces who shot so many ladyboys or Teppis (Helsinki) who admitted himself his adventures were those of a madman (see «diary of a madman» by Teppis Helsinki). Back to Nicholas Jackson, I had read about him a few years ago in a web page. This brings me to an off topic idea.  About 3 weeks earlier, I had spent time looking for informations on ladyboys in a city in Annam and found nothing. Half a decade ago, I would have thought there is no ladyboy to find there, definitely. But my 6th sense told me I had to keep on searching. I remembered how I had found ladyboys in another city of Annam a few years ago as well as near a beach on an island in Cochinchina. I don’t know why well targeted information can no longer be found on the web. This is the breeding ground for false legends and fake information. At least, forums were supposed to bring the community to share true information in the past. That's all very well to cultivate legends, but it came to my mind that it becomes urgent to go back to the fundamentals and cultivate simple and clear information sharing too.

He added one of them on a blacklist since she had stolen his Iphone. I had contacted her to try to know another version of the story. 

Jimbo is just a rough asshole. Where did you see a bar owner criticizing and reviewing his customers ? Only in PY and that is a pimp. You'd rather nominate in your legends the guy who created C&D and passed away before Jimbo took the management of the bar and lead it to Bankrupcy (as 2 other bars after C&D). 

You shouldn't twist yourself in knots about this fistfull of assholes. 2 of them had their fifteen minutes of fame once on TV. WTF ? Everyone except their family and a few ladyboys mongers forgot about it. They didn't and will never change the history of ladyboys mongering. So forget about them. You'd rather think of new legends or find unknown mongers to create their legends. I thought of the actual creator of C&D. I forgot where I read about him. Paultain ? Why not ? But he's an old legend in another forum. I had read only one of his posts titled "why do we make TRs ?". I don't know why he was some kind of a legend. It seems he started posting before the mass of mongers and never argued with anyone. 

Jimbo : this guy is one of the initiaters of PY and keeps on maintaining the bad sprit in PY. He's not customer oriented. he's always seen customers as prays . All bad words posted about ladyboys or Thai girls seeing farangs as ATMs could apply to Jimbo. Has anyone ever thought that he's a businessman judging his customers in a forum supposed to organize information and experience sharing between ladyboys customers ? This old creepy guy should remain a black legend in the world of mongers. 

Snoopdawg  was sometimes copied but never equalled. It's not a question of how many ladyboys he shagged but he managed to point out one can have fun differently from just getting drunk and bar fining bar farmed ladyboys.  Yes his TR also showed non ladyboy related beauties. Having sometimes visited the same cities, I remain blown away by the pics he shot in cities (such as Georgetwn, Malaysia) not far from ladyboys. It seems I had some technical problems adding posts recently. We'll keep on talking about it with Pdoggg to solve it. In order to get it fixed, Pdoggg asked me to create a new profile that he will merge with the old one. So, here's Pulci Gorgon.

Pdoggg had suggested me to create Procter and Gamble. So I take the opportunity to inform you that P&G had nothing to do with Procter & Gamble. This was a registration name derived from a name I had in another forum in the 2000's. I then used "Pizza Gorgonzola" at PY after my first banning. I had used this name since it contained "P" and "G" but also to announce I was looking for a restaurant where I could eat Pizza with Gorgonzola to make fun of all these mongers who stopped sharing information on ladyboys and prefered to deal with beer bars and restaurants. As they proved during the pandemics, South East Asia countries compare very favourably with ours (North America, Europe or this island full of small people north of European shores. So it's useless to ask about ATM, restaurants and bars. 

I chose Pulci Gorgon instead of Pulcinella Gorgonzola since this would be too long to write when I log in. Gorgonzola is an Italian cheese used in cooking. This is also the name used by an ennmy of Tintin in one of his adventures. Pulcinella is the most famous character in the Italian Commedia dell'arte. I like this nick name since I believe that mongering ladyboys is just a comedy. Although we do it seriously, it can be serious. It shouldn't be a business as what we see in Pattaya. 

I created the club "Mongering without frontier" to share information and knowhow on mogering in Asian countries off the beaten tourist tracks. I failed a few years ago in the Philippines and I am succeeding now in Vietnam. Searching theweb for information on Vietnamese ladyboys keeps me busier than reading forums.

If you want to add Ernesto to the hall of legends, you need to add nominees who reached the same rank before. If I remember well, we had choosen Stealth007. Ernesto did a good job, but does it deserve to be considered as a legend ? How about other nominees ? 

I ignored these details about Ernesto's job to post TRs. I find it sad to see such a personal investment and see no member of the communauty follow his track. I actually did but ignored his TRs in this forum at that time. I often wonder why we post so much original information. It seems that the whole community just want to read about the new season starlet in Pattaya.
