  1. Last weekend in April sounds good hehe. Something to look forward to and make Songkran more bearable, like a light at the end of the tunnel. Plus one last outdoor event before the wet season.

Also it would give a certain selfish BM a chance to try out his new camera in the week building up to the event by recording the practice sessions. Someone has to do that dirty job lol. Anyway just a thought.

  2. I recall an amusing incident with your good self PD, myself and Baklaboy in Sally's one night. Gypsie was talking to us and she mentioned she wanted to changer her face. I think the 3 of us replied in unison NO and she seemed taken aback, but at the same time it must have struck a cord. She still looks the same cutie 2 years on.

But yes, seldom if ever have I seen surgery improve a face. When they get the nose, cheeks and even chin done, it all tends to becomes the same off the shelf, mass produced moon face. Sad.

  3. You are in a good place there Jai Dee. No loud drunk farang youths, well maybe a few Scandanavian students lol, no Russians and not many undesirables like you might see in Pattaya.

For a certain mind set, mine being one of them, HH is ideal. Laid back, easy to get around, long beach, small port and just enough naughtiness, love it.

  4. hey guys, I am here now!

cool place.....lots of LB's walking around at night, I saw 10 or 12 tonight and half of them looked really good.......freelancers one and all, they chill around the beer bars looking for customers and some are really cute!

Looking for San tomorrow night.......BB, can I assume that the spot around Viking Bar and those 2 or 3 streets worth of beer bars are the only places for action in HH?? It was pretty slow tonight, by 1230 or so things were looking pretty quiet.....will go back down there tomorrow.

    Cheers, JD

Yea Jai Dee, those sois are the main action area really. It's quiet at 12.30 as most have gone to the Hilton disco I guess. Have you tried the late bars yet. They are up the road from the Hilton, check post #10. The girls go there from 2 am onwards after the Hilton has closed. I usually sit in Bernie Bar up there and watch the show go by. There are food stalls and a tiny seating area outside Caddy Shack 2 (not to be confused with the Caddy Shack in the bar area where a few LBs hang out).

Have fun and get back to me if you have any more questions. Cheers.

  5. Another Big Bash and here is me still with a hangover from the last one, some night. Good to see you surfacing again Thpon, the moment I saw this thread it brought a big smile to my face and great memories came flooding back. There is a scurrilous rumour doing the rounds that a long departed BM might be floating around town the latter 10 days of April.

  6. Sunsets:

Sunsets follow the same horizon rules, and I usually place the sun where the lines on the rule of thirds grid intersect rather that in the middle. Of course you can use landscape or portrait here, depending on the effect you are trying to achieve. Most cameras have a sunset mode which enhance the colours.

Beach Road never looked so good.

  7. Horizons Part 2:

Let's stay on the beach for a bit longer. Usually when you take photos of the horizon you can align it on the horizontal on the rule of thirds grid.

If the sky is clear it can be best to align it on the upper line to emphasise the vastness of the sea and if there is a cloudy sky you are normally best to place it on the lower line to give a more dramatic sky. It really depends on which of the two you are trying to emphasise. To place it in the middle of the frame cuts it in two and is not very appealing to the eye.

  8. Horizons.

So you decide to spend a day at the beach with your chosen lady. The water looks like a great place to take some shots so your shoot some nice photos. You get the girl posing like you want her, and then review the photos. They look great, but damn the horizon is slanting at an angle. This a common mistake guys make. They are so preoccupied with the model they forget the background.

The free software Picasa allows you to rotate the photo to level the horizon. See the difference it makes in the examples below. Again always trying to fill the frame to give that close up feeling with your subject.
