Thx BB. I'm liking Bali a lot. Was hoping to stay here at least 2 months. Looks like that won't happen, as I just found out. I came to Bali on a 30 day stamp because I don't need a visa with my Singapore passport. I messed up as the stamp isn't extendable. Should've come in with a visa instead. Man I'm sad to leave Bali so soon.

I'm looking to go to a similar beach city as a Bali replacement next. Maybe one of the LOS southern islands. Or Hua Hin based on your posts. Seems like a cool town.

BTW I just found out that the Thai tourist visa is no longer free, as of 1 April 2011. US$35 per entry now. That's 70 bucks for a double entry tourist visa. Bummer.

There will be a couple of us in HH the first week in May if you happen to be there.

You would get a decent air con room from about 600 to 900B. HH is no more expensive that Pattaya really. The only difference would be HH does not have cheap expat bars with beer for 40 Baht or so like you find in Patts. Most bars in the main area charge 65 to 80B a beer. Also there aren't the abundant cheap farang eating places like you would find on and around the soi Buakhao area in Pattaya for example, but they are some around town.

Overall if pushed and considering what I have said above I'd say HH is about 5 to 10% more expensive than Patts if you didn't know where to find good value places to eat.
