The Pattaya mayor today said that establishments ("bar-restaurants") that do comply with disease control measures (covid tests, no dancing, 11 pm booze ban...) can continue to operate as usual despite the currently high infection numbers. Those places that do not comply must be shutdown however...

The blogger found that most people passing by gave her some money. He counted 60 people, some of whom gave 100 B, 50 B or 20 B, including some coins. On average, he estimates, people gave her 20 baht per person, which equals to 1200 baht (36 USD) / hour.

Bangkok entertainment venues remain closed until 15 January 22  to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Police General Asawin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, signed the order today which extends the closure of entertainment venues, pubs, bars, karaoke until January 15, 2022 or until further notice to monitor, prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 during New Year.
