I stayed in Centre Pointe soi 10 which is on the same soi as CIB. I had a freelancer come in and I meet her 25m from the gate and walked in with her. They didn't stop her & I was kinda surprised. Not sure if that is the norm, but just sharing.

My first visit to Pats was 2006 and there were some Russians and I know Mainland Chinese were visiting especially during CNY. I was back in 2019 and saw some Russians, but really a mix of Asians (East & South) and Russians. I was in Jomtien recently, and holy crap! I am really surprised this forum has been translated to the Cyrillic alphabet already. I think I heard more Russian spoken than Thai. This wasn't in punting scenes, but just everywhere. Went to Koh Larn for a day and there were Taiwanese and Mainland Chinese on the beach, but the ferry was at least 75% Russian.

I remember the difference in Chiang Mai from 2007 to 2012 when the menus at restaurants went from Thai, English & Japanese to Thai, Chinese and either English or Japanese and seeing wechat and other Chinese app signage everywhere and being a little shocked, but there was definitely more Russian signage in Jomtien than Chinese or Japanese... at least where I was.

Types of places:
1. Good Thai food that is cheap, but also safe.
2. American breakfast (I don't need beans, black pudding or cooked tomatoes on my plate).
3. Rooftop or very nice view place with good food.
4. Any other amazing options in Jomtien proper.

Regarding weight loss, from my personal experience and observation of others there are a few factors and stretch marks aren't the only side effect, you can also have hanging skin, but without stretch marks.

As stated, rapid weight loss is more likely to lead to both stretch marks and hanging skin as the skin's elasticity doesn't have enough time to shrink back into place as well.
Age is another factor- your skin is more elastic when you are younger.
Hydration and skin care also factor in some as that helps with the health of the skin.
Replacing fat with muscle can also reduce hanging skin.

If you loose over 40kg, it's really, really hard not to have some sagging skin after, unless you are doing weight training and adding a lot of muscle.

I lost about 30kg 10 years ago. I don't have stretch marks, but I do have a little sag around my belly/navel. It is definitely more prominent when I am on my hands & knees, thus I tend not to like to be on top in more of a prone position with my partner facing me- I feel a little self-conscious about it.

Don't know how old your sister's family is but there is a waterpark on Dongtan Beach in Jomtien.  There are many attractions and day trips offered by tourist agencies that offer touristy things but I've never done any of them. 

Koh Larn is better than ever due to the absence of the big Chinese tour groups so those considering Koh Larn should do it soon.

China is opening up in January, so a bit nervous about those crowds.

I will be in Thailand in February and my sister & her family is also passing through. Was thinking of staying in Jomtien since I want to avoid the PTY scene with family around. I haven't been to PTY since 2019 (like most) and Jomtien since 2005-6, so I don't remember much about Jomtien, but it seems like easier to get to than Hua Hin and likely similar beach, etc. Aside from mongering, what else is there to enjoy in Jomtien? Any recs on where to stay?

Also, never been to Koh Lan, is it worth the trip out? Are the beaches better than PTY or Jomtien?
