What nature "intended" the coronavirus to do is kill humans. If ignored it will kill humans. It is at least 10 times deadlier than the most recent influenza pandemic in 2009.

yes of course, but even with all the masks, lockdown hoo-hah...isn't it still doing that anyway [killing people]?. Most flu-type virus are designed to either affect the old or sick and hopefully give future immunity to the young.

Lockdown's etc are just delaying the whole thing. And please don't have a go at me for that comment above, it's not hard-hearted, just true. I'm in my 70's now so i guess a prime target, but hey-ho... it's the price that has to be paid... [maybe]... but i certainly don't believe that young people with families should now be going hungry  and out of work with little future, just to protect the ones like me, that have already lived their lives..

Just be thankful that Ebola wasn't a good traveler.

But, back to Josh... he was recently very helpful to me although i didn't really know him. I wish him well with whatever he does in the future.

Covid has ripped the scene apart - how many bars will be still standing at Xmas.

wrong BIg Trev.... Covid itself ripped nothing apart. The knee-jerk overreaction by the Media, Government and others ripped everything apart. And still is continuing to do so.

Too high a price has been paid and is still the tip of the iceberg. If Covid had been ignored and allowed to do what nature intended it to, all would have been continuing as normal, i.e as before the new abnormal.

I voted more than "A 75% Decrease", I believe the damage that the Thai Government is inflicting on it's people is far greater than the damage that Covid 19 can do. I know we haven't even seen the full ramifications of what shutting down it's borders has done to the working class Thai let alone the industry that we like to dabble in on our trips. I have resigned myself to the idea that I may never be able to have another trip to Thailand unless there is some miraculous vaccine produced that can guarantee that the virus is halted.

those of us that live here see the damage Big Tel. it isn't good.

    you are bang on.

hink it was your good self, or BBG,  who said to me one night in Katty bar while observing Tiger. “Once you ride the tiger it is very hard to get off.” :)

sounds a bit too intelligent for me BB...

more like a Quinn-ism, after a few Sangsoms.. ok I will remove it then , I don't wont the Emmy bar police to get the shits FFS.

wrong side of bed this morning?

Nothing to do with 'policing' i'm sorry to say. Quite simply that i can't access facebook, nor ever would. Hence the title of the thread...General Playlist You Tube Music.

Emmy makes the playlists from music within youtube and stores the playlists on youtube.  Simple as that. No need for drama or acronyms either...I can speak English thanks.

Called into Emmy's Bar last night and had a few relaxing beers. :drinks:   Teya, Sara, Mind, and Moon were in attendance.  Got to play my music which is a big plus

yes...i think i mentioned it before, but will do a reminder. Emmy keeps a bluetooth speaker behind the bar for customers to use to connect to music on their mobile phone.

if you want to use it just ask for it.  I should say though that it is programmed not to accept country music..... until 10 minutes before closing time that is... no-need then to shout 'Last orders'... people will naturally go very quickly..

wi-fi is also up and running.

Same mechanism at work with covid-19. Deny and/or ignore it.

Yes, thinking about Thailand in particular, it's not always deny or ignore, it can be different medical practices.

About 4 years ago i was hospitalised in Issan for almost a month unable to breathe . QG may remember this from our other forum days.

no coughing, sneezing, phlegm etc etc, no flu symptoms at all... just unable to get oxygen in to the lungs. therefore, couldn't walk couldn't do anything. 2 stairs were like climbing Everest.

To my horror i was diagnosed with C.O.P.D. This is a long story, i may explain further in a post if anyone wants to know details... but to cut the story short eventually i recovered.

The point is though long after i had improved a English woman i knew...ex-nurse... got a chest infection., went to the local doctor who told her 'you have C.O.P.D" to which the nurse replied  "bollocks i have! i've got a chest infection."

The Doctor then explained... "in Thailand we call any Bronchial disease except Pneumonia and asthma... C.O.P.D. It's a general catch-all name .

This was great for me- it explained the lack of symptoms i had, because i didn't have C.O.P.D at all,  but...any of you issan residents  who share land with hundreds of scrawny thai chickens, if you want to know the details just ask and i'll post the story..

But nevermind, the glass over here is half full , over at yours half empty.  Cheer up QG, we'll pull through this and meet up again at Emmys someday. :)

well, if you meet up with QG, Seven.... make sure you wear a Hazmat suit or he'll be yakking you!

Sweden didn't do so well for their over-65s bbg, so you might be better in los than there

.. didn't i read that Sweden admitted the failure to protect the old-folks homes? but nay matter...that is what Covid is designed to do, cull and make room. [sorry.. hard but true]...

... along with every other flu type virus in history. And there have been many...  it's just that with others there was never the mass panic we see now with covid..

i just wonder how many of these official covid figures would normally be booked under the usual suspect annual, bi-annual cold and flu virus deaths. Quite how they reach these covid definitive figures in places like South America and Africa. Even in Europe? i don't know.. does every dead person get autopsied? i think not.

i recall my sister telling me that her son, a severe asthmatic had covid....nope, he had a bad cold. however if he does die of something in the next few weeks ...he then for the record died of Covid.

South America, Africa? ... 'let's bull up the figures, try to get some American sympathy money.' ? ?

Take care boys.... wear a piece of placebo cotton over your nose...  all will be well. actually i've discovered that if you cut up a piece of your old boxer shorts with a couple of pieces of string... you know the kind of shorts i mean, with a fly-hole?... it's great for us smokers, you can drink your beer through a straw too!

there is always  a ray of light in adversity... think positive.

i hope to god i never get Covid.... QG will never shut up about it!!

Earlier in the month, the number of coronavirus patients in a hospital in the capital had fallen below 100 for the first time since early March, according to The Local.

"Now we see one or two deaths a day and very few persons admitted to ICU (intensive care units)," said Jan Albert, a professor of infectious disease control at the Karolinska Institute.

"We are much better off now than we were in April," he told Euronews.

well i'm impressed Seven, but then again i always have been with the way Sweden handled things.  Believe me, if Sweden could be towed a couple of thousand miles further south into warmer climes...  i'd be living there via the first flight over.

Reported covid-19 cases, not to be confused with reality. Papua New Guinea on same level as New Zeeland. I'm not sure that's the reality.

i don't believe anything.... until i see an updated graph from QG!

you'll see no doom and gloom about the actual covid bug from me QG.

only from the stupid actions of men causing all this mayhem.

  14. I was talking to a BM yesterday about Emmy's party and one thing was apparent to both of us.

To give a good party it is not necessary to make peoples eardrums shatter and bleed. The music was set at a sensible level, people could talk. Is Emmy the only Thai in Thailand that understands this? Those awful Karaoke things are not needed. The house music system is quite enough.

    Well done Emmy. :clapping:

why you say that Emmy?...nothing went wrong! it was a very good night indeed. Well done!

No need to Give Jimbo a 'chicken head' by the way.... there are more pictures of Jimbo on the forums than Teya and Lily! Everyone knows him...

Although...with the weight he is putting on, you might need to 'chicken stomach' him!

anyone wondering about the lack of people by the way, most of those photo's were taken very late, after midnight. You can tell from the 2nd photo...Teya wasn't posing... she was hanging on to save falling down..

But she will have to obscure BMs' faces with big yellow chicken heads first. Wouldn't want to frighten people by showing bbg's mush!

no problem for me! i moved well out of the way.... photo's were really of the girls. i doubt they turned out okay, same as the last lot...  The camera is one of the big Nikon's, one of those things that you need some sort of engineering degree to operate. Might be second hand too and not so good.  we shall see. don't know about the effect that red neon has on the shots, maybe our 2 ace snappers BB and QG understand. it was dark though and no flash used.

At least Emmy's nephew [named 'gon' or possibly 'Khon'] isn't intrusive like that bloody woman who does all the big parties.....the main reason i rarely go to them... way too intrusive for me... BB i trust and that's it.

QG of course provides a great sense of amusement.....nay wonderment!..."wotcha Geezers... any of you lot know which button i should press?"

    :drinks:
