  2. I like the lazy life. I like waking up late and going to bed late. I like that you can find any type of food you want if you are willing to ride a baht bus. I like being able to order McDonalds and Burger King and have delivery in 20 minutes.

I like the friendlienss of the Thai people.

  3. I thought interesting Bill Maher's show last night as they talked about how his captors shoved a stick up his ass after he was captured. The pundits have been saying how crazy this was and only happens in an uncivilized country. Did they forget the police in NYC doing the same thing in the police station not too many years ago? Why the different rules for different societies. I don't think either case is acceptable and is horrible. That said, I hate the way we often criticize other countries for the same thing that happens in ours.

  4. Waitresses who give me a menu and then just stand there waiting for the order. No go and fuck off and leave me to make a decision, come back when I call you.

This seems so prevalent in Thailand. I don't get it. Why can't they wait a few minutes. Even in some nice restaurants, they do this. Leave me the fuck alone!

  5. For your Kindle, go to the amazon.com site and download to your computer for free and then move over to the Kindle. That is what I do.

Also, use the Kindle App as it will sync with all the books and you can read on your computer as well. It even keeps track of what page you are on with each device.

Lastly, if you have an IPad, I love my Kindle books on IPad.

All the free books are free. But, if your Kindle is not the International one, it will charge you. The work around is just to download to the computer and then push them over to your device. :) That is what I do as I didn't see the need to upgrade to a more expensive Kindle just for International just to download in LOS when I can use the computer's internet to do the same. :)

  6. Summer has always been a time for me to catch up on some reading that I have been wanting to read and haven't had time for. This summer, I want to read 10 books. I have not decided on all the books yet but here is the list of those waiting in my stack to read. Anyone else have a list of books they want to read this summer?

    Summer Reading List

Point to Point Navigation: Gore Vidal

Malxom X: A life of Reinvention: Manning Marable

    Accidental Genius: Mark Levy

    Prayers for Sale: Sandra Dallas

    The Angel Experiment: James Patterson

  7. Fast times at Ridgemont High. I used to fancy the pants of Phoebe Cates.

One of the greatest movies ever!

onetrue: did you want to wear her pants? or get in them? :diablo: :diablo: :diablo:

  8. “I never knew you to get excited about anything except biscuits maybe…and whores!”

That has go to be a Western. I would say Deadwood but that is a tv show. Another hint?

  9. Don't give the answer in the same post of the quote. The idea of the thread is to guess the movie it came from and who said it. :)

I guess the right answer when I read his. :) That was the easiest one to date! :)

  10. When census gatherers went door-to-door visiting 5.6 million households across Nepal this month, they collected information not only on the country's men and women, but also on a so-called third gender.

In what is believed to be a world first, Nepal's Central Bureau of Statistics is giving official recognition to gay and transgender people -- a move seen as major victory for equality in a country that only decriminalized homosexual relationships three years ago.

Among those happy to stand up and be counted in the third gender category is Dilu Buduja, 35. "I was born as a girl, but as I grew up I felt I was a boy. Today I totally feel like a man," he said.

A spokesman for the statistics bureau, Bikash Bista, said the new categorization was an attempt to open up the traditionally conservative country up to different points of view.

  11. Thunderbird isn't e-amil. It is a way to download and respond and interact with your e-mail accounts. For example, if you have several gmail accounts or an old AOL and old MSN and an old Hotmail account, you can set each up in Thunderbird and they will download your e-mail and you don't have jump on the net to respond to each account.

It does the same thing that Mac Mail or MS Outlook does.

    From About.com:

Mozilla Thunderbird is a fully featured, secure and very functional email client and RSS feed reader. It lets you handle mail efficiently and with style, and Mozilla Thunderbird filters away junk mail too.

At the same time, Mozilla Thunderbird could be more helpful with showing related information, suggesting labels or folders, for example.

  12. Heathers is the movie. Heather Duke played by Shannon Doherty for the first one.

Heather Chandler played by Kim Walker for the 2nd one.

You got it Lefty. It is one of the funniest movies around.

  13. "The Hangover 2" has gotten some interesting, negative, reviews. I was pretty interested in seeing it since the first one was funny & this was shot in Bangkok. The basic take is however that it isn't a sequel as much as a remake of the original with minor variations: monkey instead of a baby, tattoo instead of missing tooth after coming to, Bangkok in place of Vegas, basically a replay than a rewrite, an extreme example of not taking chances when you have a sucessful formula. Too bad.

hefe, you are spot on! But, it was still funny as hell! :) Just pretend you didn't see the first one. :)
