Don't be as ass, last word lance.

You are an ass seven. You said I support Trump, I do no not and please show me any post here where I said I did (support Trump)

But you make untrue accusations like Trump:biggrin:

Quiet Guy said he wanted to visit Cuba before "Americans destroyed the country." I asked why he felt that way. His reply was that America tried to kill Castro but Cuba was still standing.

Wow. Considering that Cubans are doing every thing possible to leave their homeland, most often for the USA, I find QG's remarks hypocritical. And considering that we like ladyboys, in which country are we more likely to be able to pursue our interests, Cuba or the USA? Or any other liberal democracy.

Can you find one post where I said I want to visit Thailand before Brits destroy the country? Or Europeans destroy the country?

You won't because I never said that.

But you say I'm an ass for disagreeing with your point of view.

Yeah, I can better understand the millions of misguided souls that support Trump after reading your posts and bizarre accusations.

By the way, if you have some spare time, watch the debate between Christopher Hitchens and a Jewish Rabbi on youtube.

By the way, if you Woodie have some spare time watch some videos of Nazis putting Jews in ovens at Aushwitz. But maybe you approve of that? Maybe you think the Jews should apologize to Nazis?

May you get your wish that Islamic fundamentalist rule the world. They really respect guys that love ladyboys

You guys mock the USA but you all are all narrow mined hypocrites. I got along here until I questioned Quiet Guy's statement  that he wanted to visit Cuba before the USA destroyed the country. I merely asked why but that was too much push back for Quiet Guy. He, Seven and Woodie doubled down, all Americans are evil, the world was perfect before the USA.

    Really?

The UK exploited the world with an empire that the sun never set on. The Vikings made a living on raiding and murdering every one they could. Who knows where Woodie is from; hating the USA gives meaning to his miserable life.

Shaking my head, its a waste of time trying to reason with the bigots named above...

    Yes, most did.
like I said , fighting over masks is a non issue here, we never locked down, we haven’t done better or worse than any country that allows comparison.  The lesson is, lockdown or masks are not the solution. The US was hijacked by an insane person and his enablers for 4 years,so it’s not fair to compare, but of course it wouldn’t work there.

Seven says I support Trump even though he can not post one example where I have written that on this forum.

Seven and Quiet Guy love repressive regimes like Cuba and North Korea because that fits their narrative that the USA is evil, they worship China, because it has infected the world and has blessed us with the world wide pandemic.

Even Americans on this forum hate America and love China for putting Uyghurs in concentration camps...

  4. I'm wondering about a third wave here in Mexico. About a month ago, the authorities were vaccinating people 60 and older, including foreigners with permanent resident status.

It's a slow process; they vaccinate a cohort of about 40 people sitting in chairs but make them remain sitting for 30 minutes before a new cohort is accepted. Some folks reported waiting in line for 12 hours!

Just saw a sign for the 50 to 59 age group.

Saw an interesting nasal vaccine being developed by Mexico

I believe this pandemic has given rise to a large number of people getting their 15 minutes of fame.

    I agree.

Many folks seek out information that reinforces their individual biases, an echo chamber if you will (Similar to a few guys here- The USA is evil, all other countries are perfect, 555!)

We have lost the Age of Enlightenment dictum of "I disagree with what you say, but I respect your right to say it." Now is morphed in to "I disagre with what you say, so shut up!" 555.

BOT, I saw this video of how to get through to anti vaxers. Their doctor is the key...

  8. Yes, excess mortality is probably the best measurement of virus deaths. I'd like to see accurate data on that regarding China.

The mask issue is devisive, among expats, even here in Mexico. Some foreigners demanding others wear a mask, others proclaiming "That's not freedom!"

I take my cue from the locals, if they are masked up, so am I. When I jog I wear it under my chin or around my wrist, so signal I'm in to compliance. We have a light lockdown here, from Dec 25 to Jan 10. Bars have to close at 7pm. One saving grace here is that bars and restaurants here are not air conditioned and use natural open ventilation. Not perfect but better than closed, heated buildings in many northern countries.

Most of us do but not me. I like salty ham, american bacon, fried potatos and biscuits. I also like traditional English breakfasts; at first beans seemed strange but I started liking them. as well.

Crazy Dave used to have a good English breakfast; open all night on Soi Pothole. Really tasted good after a night on the town:biggrin:

Don't feel left out, Lance. Hypocrits are common to all nations, even USA. You are part of a strident minority.

    Thankfully still a minority, though.

Bubba, we are all selfish and act in our own best interests. Nations do the same; we all have dirty laundry, both nations and the citizens of those countries. Better to acknowledge our behavior than to be critical of people from country A, when folks of country B do the same things.

Thankfully, as a hypocrite, I'll have the company of your good self, you professing with every breath what a sweet, objective guy you are:yahoo:

Even with this virus BS, life is good. But yeah, we all get a little cranky:biggrin:

A price increase for you too, pardner. How come y'all don't git to visit now? "Self righteous hypocrisy"? Methinks you protesteth too mutt!

    Jest sayin, like.

Ah buddy I've never been to Cuba. If I visit I'm an evil Yankee. If QG visits he is doing God's work di ba?

Protest too much? Yeah when QG says America destroyed Cuba, that gospel. When I push back, that's evil American propaganda. QG doubled down on his love for Cuba and evil Americans that were about to destroy his paradise. I don't have a problem with Cuba, but I pushback when people say America is evil.

Some posters here help me to understand dictators. We ladyboy admirers are a minority, so why do some admire authoritarian despots? Minorities usually do better in liberal democracies, not one party rule.

How many political parties does Cuba have?

Oh and be sure and visit North Korea. Hypocrites are welcome there as well. Your tourist money will help to prop up a regime that starves it;s people. Now spin that as you are helping oppressed people to fight American Imperialism:biggrin:

Some not so good drunken festive trolling there Lance! 5555. I hope your hangover today isn't too bad!!

Aw shucks pardner, for a self professed "Quiet Guy" ya'all sure do write/talk a lot:drinks:

What you call trolling is me pushing back against your self righteous hypocrisy. You say you want to visit Cuba before the USA destroys it. What you really mean is you think it's OK when you visit Cuba, but if Americans visit the Cuban people's standard of living might improve. That would mean a price increase for you.

    What a sweet guy:biggrin:

Yeah there was a bar in South Pattaya that was named Country Road. I remember "Take me Me Home Country Road" by John Denver and "Did you Ever See the Rain?" by CCR. It got tiresome but I prefer it to Rap. Every generation has their own music, that's lifeB)

the money boys...capitalists (i.e. vikings).  My fav UK fuck wittery was using their military to overthrow China so they could keep peddling opium. But then many MANY countries backed ventures of greed, the Spanish did a real number on native populations, and so on. Of all the isms, I think capitalism has done WAY more harm. Possibly communism would not have gained such traction if capitalism was not a run away MAD bull in the world for so many years.

I disagree about communism being better for the average citizen. As a theory it is tempting but it ended badly for 20 million Russians liquidated by Stalin, 30 million Chinese starved to death by Mao and 25% of Cambodia's population beaten to death by Pol Pot.

I think two parties are needed, one party rule always leads to mischief.

But I agree that all countries do have dirty laundry.

I learn a lot on the forum; many guys detest the USA, but if were were having this conversation 100 years ago, the detested country would have been the British Empire, 200 years before that The Spanish Empire, 1700 years before that The Romans...

My bad, Che was too far to the left. In any case one party rule, left or right, leads to mischief and millions dying for no reason. I visited his child hood home in Argentina. Not that I admire him, but I am a student of history. He was a horny kid, banging the maids but apparently reluctant to bathe regularly.

Lance, I admire people who stand up against injustice, and Che Guevara did that.

I'm guessing you are referring to Thailand as 'a country where the slightest disagreement ....... '  Where have I praised Thailand? I go there for some sun during our miserable winter. The ladyboys are a bonus. If I only went to countries where I thought the Government was good I wouldn't go anywhere, and I don't like my Government too.

No I wouldn't have wanted to visit a Nazi concentration camp in 1944. Nazism and fascism are the greatest political evils of all. One of the great things that the US did was joining the war against fascism after Pearl Harbour and I respect all those who fought in that war. I have actually visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp to remember those who were murdered by the Nazi regime.

I oppose all repressive Governments, and that includes China.

Anyway I wish you all the best in this Season of Goodwill.

Well we do agree about holiday best wishes.

Che was a murderer. If your hero was committed to fairness, why have so many Cubans risked their lives to escape the workers paradise? Your original statement about visiting Cuba before the USA destroyed it, was justification for your selfish reasons to visit. As long as the Cuban people remain oppressed, you get a cheap vacation. More tourists, including Americans, means more money for the average Cuban. But, opps, that could increase prices, so better to spin justification for your visit as being principled. You could visit Miami and tell Cuban expatriates there how much you admire Che for defending them against injustice. Let us know how that goes:yahoo:

You stated you won't visit the USA as long as Trump is president. That's cool; he was fired by the American people and our democratic institutions are robust enough to resist his bogus claims of a stolen election.

But you do want it both ways, taking a principled stance on boycotting the USA but ignoring injustice in Thailand, because you proclaim "you couldn't go any where" if you adhered to your moral compass. We all visit Thailand for selfish reasons, but you spin your selfishness to justify it as some noble act. Ah yes, the White Man's Burden, bringing the nectar of Western Civilization to the world's people of color. And it's a bonus if they are poor and willing to sell them selves at a low price. Admiring Che can certainly salve a guy's conscience and make it all OK, right? Right!

I'm always amazed how some folks, as soon as they discern I am American, begin to lecture me about how they don't like the current president, US foreign policy, US health care, police in the USA, etc. I have views of other countries, but I realize that there are two sides to every story and who am I to pontificate on their politics?

You actually remind me of Trump, in the vein that you both live in alternative realities:drinks:

Che was too far right? He was raised in a liberal, well-to-do household and studied medicine. While traveling around South America on his motorcycle he became radicalised by his encounters with the rural poor. He became a Marxist revolutionary, which would put him on the far left of the political spectrum.

My bad, Che was too far to the left. He was becoming too popular and Castro was happy to send him abroad to continue the revolution.  In any case one party rule, left or right, leads to mischief and millions dying for no reason.

Che, Castro, Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot and Hitler were all authoritarian. Some will praise them for "Fighting injustice" but what actually happened was millions were killed because of them.

I find it hypocritical to praise authoritarians and to claim the moral high ground, as QG does to justify selfishness.

On the other hand, I want to visit North Korea before The UK or Germany destroys it. I really admire Kim for standing up to the west and starving his people to do so. Plus I get a cheap vacation!!
