Actually I couldn't agree with you more ,but what can you do.

    Jimi Hendrix

My neighbour, (professional musician, extremely talented, plays all instruments basically), saw Jimi in ´69. Best show he ever attended. The owner of the joint pulled the plug on Jimi as it was after 11pm.

homecoming to New Jersey in the worst seat in the stadium....literally the very last row of Meadowlands which has 82000 capacity. It was cool seeing him at his "home town".....but he looked like a tiny ant on a stage. Going to concerts in massive stadiums sucks.

I agree.  I had that too. Nosebleed section at the far back, could barely see the guy. Sucks so bad. This time its outdoors. Hes 72 now , might be his last dance just like Dylan and the Stones I saw last year.

Born in the USA was good, but nothing like Born to Run.

Yeah, Born to run together with The River and Darkness on the edge of town are probably my fav albums. I've seen him many times and hes up there with Dylan for me.

His latest stuff the last 10 years or so is nowhere as good.

Never got to see Pink Floyd live unfortunately, only Waters solo. Great band. The reason I could never live in Los full-time is the lack of good concerts over there. They cant seem to attract any decent acts. Only legends like Cardi B and Justin Beaver :)

  3. BOOM!

If you grew up watching Comedy Central from roughly 2000 onward, there’s a certain kind of nostalgia that can be hard to find a substitute for in the modern era: The feeling of watching former Daily Show host Jon Stewart—now The Problem With Jon Stewart host Jon Stewart—absolutely, calmly demolish someone in the midst of a “polite” debate. Stewart is a complicated guy, with complicated issues surrounding some of his positions. But there are few people on television better than he is at taking facts, rolling them up like a newspaper, and just slapping seven kinds of hell out of an opponent without ever raising his voice.

    ---

Dahm insists any such checks would infringe on a person’s Second Amendment right to bear arms, to which Stewart shoots back: “Is voting a right?” and asks Dahm to detail what a person has to do to legally vote. “So you have to register to vote,” Stewart says. “Is that an infringement?”

Stewart also points out Dahm supports banning drag performers from reading to children.

“Are you infringing on that performer’s free speech?” Stewart asks.

“They can continue to exercise their free speech,” Dahm says. “Just not in front of a child.”

    “Why?”

“Because the government does have a responsibility to protect —”

Stewart touches his ear, as if to say gotcha. “I’m sorry?”

“The government does have a responsibility, in certain instances, to protect children.”

“What’s the leading cause of death amongst children in this country?” Stewart asks. “I’m going to give you a hint: It’s not drag show readings.”

I don't know about other countries in Europe, but there has been changes in International driver licenses in mine. When I obtained my international driver license, they hadn't stamped themot and motorbike categories in the booklet. They explained me that I had never passed a driver license for these type of driving but I had these categories in my domestic driver license by law. So I am allowed to ride a motorbike in the Schengen Area but not in Asia. If I want my stamps, I need to go to a driving school and get my driver license for these categories.

Same here. Never had a license for motorbike alas it shows in my IDL I am not allowed to drive motorbike. I've driven bikes all my life including Thailand  but I won't be taking any chances in Thailand anymore, as insurance wouldn't be valid should anything happen.

However,if you had your drivers license for car before 1977 you got the bike license included.  Which means that an 80 year old lady can jump on a hog legally. You spot any oldtimer in Thailand riding , he got his license for 'free' with the car license and most likely never rode a bike in the west. Scary.

Anybody else have a poster of her in your room when you were an adolescent?  Me and Raquel were very close back then...

Almost. I think my dad had in his office. Perhaps the most beautiful of them all. RIP.

    Russians

Thailands unconditional welcome to the russkies is being debated in in Europe, and rightly so , imo. I guess money don't smell.

    Thailand Cozies up to Russia

Thailand bucks the trend of sanctioning Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, opting to boost trade and tourism ties with Moscow.

Nick Cave calls ChatGPT and AI songwriting 'a grotesque mockery of what it is to be human'

ChatGPT is the latest software generating uproar around AI-generated art, leading to a growing frustration with the way society devalues art.

    https://www.euronews.com/culture/2023/01/17/nick-cave-calls-chatgpt-and-ai-songwriting-a-grotesque-mockery-of-what-it-is-to-be-human

Nick Cave shared his take on songwriting using artificial intelligence and ChatGPT, a chatbot launched by OpenAI last November. It’s an artificial intelligence chat that has been trained and designed to hold natural conversations.

“Since its launch in November last year many people, most buzzing with a kind of algorithmic awe, have sent me songs ‘in the style of Nick Cave’ created by ChatGPT,” he wrote in his response. “There have been dozens of them. Suffice to say, I do not feel the same enthusiasm around this technology. I understand that ChatGPT is in its infancy but perhaps that is the emerging horror of AI – that it will forever be in its infancy, as it will always have further to go, and the direction is always forward, always faster.”

He continued: “It can never be rolled back, or slowed down, as it moves us toward a utopian future, maybe, or our total destruction. Who can possibly say which? Judging by this song ‘in the style of Nick Cave’ though, it doesn’t look good, Mark. The apocalypse is well on its way. This song sucks.”

In the depths of the night, I hear a call

A voice that echoes, through the hall

It’s a siren’s song, that pulls me in

Takes me to a place, where I can’t begin

    Chorus:

I am the sinner, I am the saint

I am the darkness, I am the light

I am the hunter, I am the prey

I am the devil, I am the savior

    Verse 2:

I walk the streets, with my head held high

I’ve got my demons, but I’ll make them fly

I’ll dance with the devil, and I’ll play his game

I’ll be the one, to call his name

    (Chorus)

    Bridge:

I’ve got the blood of angels, on my hands

I’ve got the fire of hell, in my eyes

I’m the king of the abyss, I’m the ruler of the dark

I’m the one that they fear, in the shadows they hark

    (Chorus)

    Outro:

So come with me, to the edge of the night

Where the darkness and the light collide

We’ll walk the line, between the good and the bad

And we’ll see, who comes out on top in the end.
