Pari mutual system of betting?   What is the expected value of a ticket or in other words how much is taken out of the return by the track/government?   Is there an English racing form with past performance stats?

    Near the BTS or MRT?

What I can tell you now is as it was before covid brought it all to a halt. Anything new, when it starts up again, I'll try to update.

Betting: All totalizator betting, minimum 50 baht (and multiples of 50 baht). Win, Place (1st, 2nd or 3rd), Quinella (1st and 2nd, in any order), Trifecta (1st, 2nd, 3rd in order). Only on course and only on the current race (you can't put a bet on a race later than the one with the horses on the track). On the screens, approximate odds are shown for 10 baht

Form guides: Along Henri Dunant Road (avenue) there were many stands selling form guides, mostly Thai, but there was an English guide  for 100 baht, but it only gave Bangkok form; some Thai guides cover form at all tracks (e.g. Chiang Mai, Udon Thani and Korat, as well as Bangkok)

Getting there: I'd suggest BTS to Siam, and walk or motorbike taxi down Henri Dunant Road to the gates. Best view is at 200 baht but 100 baht is ok if you like looking up the straight from past the winning post.

I'm not the resident expert, just a bloke who has spent a lifetime at the races. As I've said before, Royal Ascot or Randwick it is not, but you can have an interesting day out for a small outlay - something different. Anyway, I'll try to find out what is the current set up, and also for Korat if/when it starts up also

  2. I'm led to believe that horse racing will (maybe) start again in Bangkok and Korat in the next month or so. I haven't been to Korat yet (a sand track) but the Royal Bangkok Sports Club has a grass track, where they raced every second Sunday. I'll keep an eye on race dates, but here's a reminder of the bangkok track.

While donuts aren't the healthiest thing to consume, I might be willing to make an exception.

I saw her (Donut) when I was in the bar the other night. She looked lovely, but I was otherwise engaged.

    Geez Nosher, you have aged!!!.

    And where is the mustache?.

Geez mate. stop picking on me! I had to borrow a shirt because i stayed an extra day and didn't have an extra shirt in my pack.

Back on topic, the bar is all SP said it is, and more. Service staff: excellent. Ladies:excellent. What's not to like about the bar? I'd like to wish Iain and Nam every success in the new location, and I'll be in there again on my next Bangkok visit.

Is that Cobber in the middle of the picture?.

Only jealous that I cannot be there. I wonder when it will be?.

Yes it was me, mate. Great night as you can see. Hope it isn't too long before you can get back, though I guess every day is one day too long at present

indeed it is. I hope he has forgiven me for calling him Geoff!

Quinn and i had the V.I.P table. It took me ages to work my way around to sit opposite Nam.

Yes indeed it was me; and yes bbg, all is forgiven. It really was a very enjoyable night, plus I knew you were distracted.

    Are they really? Think bigger.

I suppose it depends on the definition, but thinking of Australia, . Melbourne, with some postcodes "locked down" or deemed "hotspots", as against state borders being closed.

What a great device with only an on/off switch.  Would be nice if tv remotes only had on/ off, volume, and channel switches. Does anyone here know the function of every button on their remote?

Yes. I do. Apart from the ones you mentioned, all other buttons are there to confuse the user. Can't have viewers knowing more than the smart-arse tech people. I think I'm getting old and crabby like BBG.

I think a video thread exists somewhere but I can't find it.

There's a lot of cognitive dissonance with this clip because you know they're mostly lads in wigs and dress up but, shamefully, this gets my pecker standing ... I like bottoms, feminine appearing bottoms I hasten to say, and knob ends exploding their goo (is there no end to a chap's depravity?)

I wonder if others here share my perversion and shame. Answers on a postcard please

No shame, Jimmy; just sharing your perversion. Great video mate. And I also liked Woodie's video, so I suppose I really am a random pervert. Couldn't send a postcard as I couldn't write too well after watching the videos.

I had a look at the live feed last night,  I was impressed but unfortunately with the YouTube police there is not a lot the girls can do . Hopefully Mr. Jim will post a link .

Yes, SP, I agree with you. With the financial situation as it is, I can only admire the girls for turning up bright and smiling, and doing their best to make the night a success. It's the first live streaming I've seen, so I'll look again before my next visit to the bar in person.

... I have postponed my trip for next year because of the risk of covid19 :-(... I am very unhappy. Maybe I will try in December... And you? Same same or different?

Hi and welcome. It's different for me as I live in Thailand, but up north. I'm just back from 6 nights in Pattaya, and I did enjoy the time there. Not as it was, of course, but still very enjoyable. Best of luck with your travel plans, whenever you make it here.

Two new cases in Thailand.  Unclear if they should be counted as domestic cases or repatriated cases.  Two separate women arriving from the UAE on different dates in June completed their mandatory quarantine and have now tested positive.

I was reading this in Bangkok Post today, and the explanations seemed to be trying to not count as local transmissions, (and of course the government would not want local transmissions) but if they were all clear after quarantine, when they went for their fit-to-fly papers, they're positive, it makes me wonder. And then what about their contacts since going home? More to follow, I'd suggest.

  13. Emmy, thank you for a great night at the bar with Stoolpusher and the other visitors you mentioned. And the girls of course. As you know I made an appointment for the Tuesday to see Mind again. Lovely girl; I hope she enjoyed the evening as much as i did.

Best wishes for the days to come; and hope to see you at the bar again soon.

  14. Emmy, yes, a great sign. And Teya is a beautiful model.

Sorry I cannot get down for the big night , but best wishes for a Very Happy Birthday, and for the official opening night for Emmy's Bar.

I will be thinking of you.

I reckon the Chiayapoon Inn in Soi Pothole is a good spot. Not mentioned in Mike Bairds guide, but should be. I think Cobber 32 would agree.

Woodie, you knew I'd respond.. Yes, I stay at Chaiyapoon Inn most times I come down. I think good value, and very near Zaza Massage as a bonus.

Uh-oh, a soldier in Rayong could possibly head up to SodomBy The Sea for some boom boom.  Hope he doesn't like the third gender.

Incredible isn't it? Everything was going so positive, and now we have a bloke who IS positive. Heads should roll.

Just when you think you've heard it all...

Exactly. We haven't got many cases here, so let's bring some in from outside. I'm stunned.

Zaza Massage is now open for business. :yahoo:

As with all businesses in Thailand we have suffered to but we have a great landlord and now all is paid up and ready to go

Great news SP. Best wishes to Zaza Massage in these difficult times.
