I walked through there an hour or so ago. There is a sign that says "opening Oct 1".  All of the signs are up and it looks like all the furniture delivered for most of the bars, although still in plastic.

Just a bump on this thread .... someone I know well that works in a hospital said that some hospitals will look for evidence of ability to pay prior to full treatment of unconscious people brought into the ER.  They will look for an insurance card and give them a ring, or better yet, a credit card.  He cited Pattaya Memorial, for example, is known to take a credit card and see if 50,000 baht can be authorized (not charged).  If authorized OK, then they render full medical treatment.  If not, they stop the bleeding then send them off to Banglamung Public Hospital.  In addition to the good advice above, the key is to make them want to treat you. 

So here is what was recommended to me in Thailand and Cambodia(this can all be done in a very small plastic baggie jammed into a pocket).

- carry copy of Passport
- carry a copy of insurance card
- carry a credit card that can be authorized for a high amount
- carry this note:

May 5 is no longer a public holiday in Thailand, everything should be operating as normal.    July 28 and October 13 have been added as new holidays.  How they are treated by officials re: bar openings is unknown.

Visakha Bucha Day is May 10 this year (2017).  It is the most important holy day in Buddhism, shops, bars and restaurants are "officially" prohibited from selling alcohol from midnight to midnight.  You might be able to get a drink somewhere but do not expect music, dancing or partying.

I only use the PortaPow cables. Google them. They never break and they give a full charge. $7-8 in the US.  I'll bring a few for you late next month if you want.

I'm headed to AC in a few weeks, and in the past, I've used PinaLove in addition to the streets and bars.  LBR and a few of the other boards have some threads dedicated to online LBs in Thailand, but none I've seen for Philippine LBs.  Anyone used these sites and have any recommendations or experiences?
