The Thai Ministry of Public Health predicts that in the worst case scenario there'll be over 30,000 Omicron infections per day in the first quarter of 2022. Even in the best case scenario, it seems that there'll be 10,000 / day by mid-February
During the peak of the Delta wave in August 21, Thailand had 23,000 infections / day.
Never make predictions – especially about the future...

For unknown reasons, many people in the province of Chantanburi seem to be suffering from diarrhea at the same time.
A private hospital in the downtown area of Chanthaburi said that it was full due to the large number of diarrhea patients. There is no confirmation yet from an official agency.
The Chanthaburi Public Health Office at about 7:30 p.m. has posted a message to warn the people of Chanthaburi to avoid food poisoning. No information yet from Dr. Apirak Phisuthaporn, the Chanthaburi Provincial Public Health Doctor.

Chonburi Public Health asks for cooperation from restaurant operators that sell alcoholic beverages during New Year. They ask all customers to be screened with an ATK antigen test kit in addition to inspecting employees.

I also had 2 AZ jabs first. My booster shot was with Spikevax from Moderna. I did experience some side effects after the first AZ and the Moderna jabs. If I can get to choose it, I will probably go for Comirnaty for the fourth jab sometime later next year - or whatever vaccine that's adapted to protect against the omicron variant is available by then...

Good news and bad news for a tourist:
A farang tourist who arrived last Friday in Bangkok left his hotel without waiting for the COVID test result, which came back positive; he traveled to Pattaya and Koh Samui before turning himself in.
Mr. B. left the hotel in Bangkok without waiting for the result, which confirmed that he was positive for COVID-19.
He traveled by taxi to Pattaya, where CCTV footage showed him trying to check in at a hotel but being rejected because he refused to show his passport. On Saturday, he called the Bangkok hotel and said he was visiting a friend at a hospital and would return later that day, which didn’t happen.
He then reportedly turned off his phone on Saturday night and traveled back to Bangkok and then to the island of Koh Samu
On Koh Samui, he took three tests and they all came back negative...
On Thursday 23 December, he was sent to Thong Lor police station in Bangkok. There, he will be formally charged.
Why did he leave the hotel in Bangkok in the first place? At this time he didn't know he would test positive...
