  1. Another nail in the coffin ouf the Catholic Church, who,IMO,held the country back for centuries.....I wonder how many people who voted YES did so because of their animosity toward the Church....?

Great news indeed for both the advancement of equality and a further blow to church influence in state affairs .

The great Irish socialist James Connolly foreseen the dangers of Ireland partitioned over a hundred years ago when he predicted we would have two states both reactionary and church controlled - " A carnival of reaction " was his term and a carnival of reaction is what we got .

A southern state controlled by the superstitions and reactions of the Catholic Church and an equally repressive northern state run by Protestant bigots .

Thankfully the times they are a changing as new generations shake off the superstitious shit that has held them back for centuries .

How ironic that the south is now further advanced than the north , recently the Protestant led majority overruled the progressives on a vote on gay marriage in the N I Assembly .

  2. Every time I read of a slightly more risque ladyboy getting up to some frightening sexual deed I always picture Big Tel with that mischievous grin on his face and one of his witty retorts .

Similarly I came across a picture of the big scary High Boss ladyboy with the tattoo across her chest and a smile came to my face as I recalled Tel's near strangulation story .

Every time I see an Indian tailor in Pattaya I can just picture Donnykey giving the guy in Soi Diana a dressing down because of the attire he was clad in ..... I can just picture Brucie in that Aussie accent - "Your a shit tailor mate stripes don't go with stripes " Poor guy stood open mouthed .

  3. Funny thing was that I had booked Mr T and kliome PT taxis to Pattaya yet both our names were on the same placard when both we, Doug & Taleung had arrived from Philippines so they must work together, dunno who Jimslim used as he headed off to Bangers

After a nice break in The Philippines it was back to the cut and thrust of Bangkok .

I got some joker at the airport who gave the usual patter - "First time in Thailand mister ? "

OK Nana 700 Baht plus toll - Nope

Ok Nana 600 plus toll - Nope

    Ok blah blah  :roadrage:

    Welcome back to Bangkok .

  4. B B King was a legend .

Not many of the great blues and soul men and women left now .

Someday they'll all be gone but their music will live on forever .

  5. Is Thailand one of the worst places to have a relationship, be it long distance or on the ground, if you are permanently tormented by the green-eyed monster?

    If course it is .

If a guys not open minded I imagine it would be torture .

I always laugh when guys sponsor someone and then expect them to be faithful , so one minute they are young and permanently horny the next they become celibate and live like a monk ....yeh right .

Beware the young Thai man with big hair skinny jeans and pointy shoes and a poor attempt at a mustache .

  6. I'll say no more as the gentleman concerned is the shy retiring type

That was a funny night , I'm sure the late night Pharmacy on Walking Street has seen some sights over the years but a ladyboy arriving late at night to buy rubber gloves and lube must win some sort of award .

  7.  I am wondering if the point is to strangle the bars out of existence.  They squeeze the bars with high rents, which is win for the land owners.  Then when they cannot afford the rents anymore, they sell on the land or lease it to someone who CAN afford the high rents, which is also a win.

Could well be over the last year or so the place has been a lot quieter , any Nana ladyboys I meet are worried for the future

This discussion has come up many times over the years with the majority always swaying that Nana will continue on as it is for the foreseeable .

This time however it could go out with a whimper rather than a bang  many well known bars have closed already .

  8. I had some great nights at both places last trip .

Every time in the company of a big group of friends which of course made for a great (and funny ) evening .

I like both places but I'll plump for Volterra ,the anti pasti is excellent even though I was late last time and had to settle for Issan sausage before hand .

The wine is decent in Volterra and as already mentioned the owner is a nice guy .

That said I'd be more than happy to eat at either place when I'm in town ....right who's asking ?

  9. The DOORS over-rated!??!?!?!?!!? Goodness gracious NO!!

The Doors where way overrated , Light My Fire was their only decent tune ...all that other drugged up shit was depressing .

Same with Nirvana ..... one of the most overrated bands of the 90's they stole The Pixies sound .

And Morrissey  ? Another miserable sort totally irrelevant now , Johnny Marr was the man he made The Smiths .

  10. I was in there on Monday night 13th and it was deadly quiet , maybe 15 lbs and very few customers .

To be fair Songkran was in full flow and I'm sure this affected things .

Some clown had chucked a full bucket of icy cold water over me on Sukumvitt , add that to the cold aircon so I was feeling less than comfortable and only stayed for one drink .

Quite a few Bangkok ladyboys told me of big changes there and none believed they were for the better , the general consensus was the new owner wasn't too keen on our third gendered friends .

  11. I think 6 or 8k is a tad too much of an estimate in general. The bars like Pook where they have to dance yes that is about right. But you will find a large percentage of run of the mill bars the salary can be as low as 2500 bht with the average being about 3500 Bht.

That is from my experience .

    Cheers DK

Let me get this right you have both worked in beer bars and danced in Go Go's ?

    Which did you prefer ?

    :party0011:  :party0011:  :party0011:

  12.  I met Mr Lynott many times and must have been Thin Lizzys NO1 fan

    Now that's impressive .

Lizzy were the best band to come out of Ireland in my opinion and Phil Lynott was a cool dude .

Live and Dangerous is still my favourite live album of all time and I'm a soul boy !

  13.

But the song actually believed to be a referrntial tribute to a ragamuffin bunch of criminals based in Manchester called the Quality Street Gang, members of the gang frequented the bar which Lynott's mother ran,

I read about them , a bunch of cool dudes in mohair suits and smart overcoats .

Legend has it the Kray twins took a train to Manchester in an attempt to take over their patch , took one look and jumped back on the train to London .

  14. I am sure a few here are curious to know if he revealed all 3 attributes at the same time. :obscene:

Well I have made a dick out of myself singing and dancing many times if that counts  :party0048:

  15. Which british comedian /actor had a huge following in albania....and nicknamed "pitkin " there.....personally,i thought he was about as funny as toothache...

A bizarre story that one apparently all western movies / shows were banned by the old Communist regime but for some peculiar reason they let the masses watch Norman Wisdom ....perhaps some attempt at mental torture .

Anyway he became a big star there ....sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction .
