  1. I've never done it nor ever will, it's not a good idea.

I know a few guys who have and there's always been problems, its ok for a bit until you bring back someone they don't like or had previous run-ins with

The fantasy of them knocking at your door in the wee small hours with a hard-on is better kept for the cold dark nights at home

I dont think I am breaking new ground here.  Prices have crept up though. Is a beer still only 125 in nightclubs/discos??  I think its more than that really.

The guy in the video is underestimating prices to prove a point, Insomnia, Marine, Candyshop etc are all 175 baht for a bottle of beer and have been for a few years.

With a current exchange rate of 40 baht to a pound sterling that's more expensive than at home, plus I don't get pestered for a tip here

The exchange rate seemed to fluctuate between 50-60 baht to the pound for years then evened out in the low 50's which most people could live with , however after the Brexit vote it dropped overnight by 20% to the low 40's , add that to a recession , constant austerity and insecurity for many in Europe and thats why we don't see many European tourists in Thailand anymore

That was better than a Kev video by a mile but it helped I had some interest in the subject. Tim's Bar Beer/GoGo/pool room has five bottled beers and at least 3 or 4 are ales. They are 140 baht a bottle but on special for 100 baht on Monday night. Monday night I had the IPA. It was definitely highly hopped but the hop flavor didn't really have a hop taste I am accustom to and I used to be an IPA junkie. I likely will go back and try one of the others sooner or later.

FWIW I was walking past Tim Bar Beer with a friend who said he had been walking past the place for 10 years. He had no idea there was a GoGo inside and in the back a big pool hall. He just thought it was a sidewalk bar. Perhaps an alternative pool venue if one can't get a table at Megabreak.

    Sorry, slight thread phuck.

Tims is a great bar, I also had passed the place for years before I was introduced to it earlier this year by a friend

  5. I wonder does this include those that have and still don't have a clue?

Some of the gormless looking blokes that pick up LBs late at night on Walking Street don't seem to have a clue about anything much let alone gender

I also think the reason many of us dont use/fancy the LB bar scene is a product of all of us getting older.  Its kind of a been there, done that type of attitude.

    True, it is all subjective

I see newer guys getting excited about bars and LBs and I don't know what the fuss is, but fair play to them they are getting the same buzz we all got when we first started going there

Now I prefer a good meal with some friends or a meet up in Scooters/Hideaway / PBG etc, its called getting old :Hmmmph:

Ezy Bar was excellent for all the reasons described by the guys above. You never truly know how good something is until it's gone.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it so far, but a venue I miss is Stringfellows. On a good night with a few buddies it was fantastic.

Stringfellows was great I think all of us who where around in its heyday had some great times there, I know around 2006 when it first opened and I was still ducking and diving ( not yet being out - IE walking in the street with an LB ) Stringfellows and a few Soi 6 joints were so naughty and exciting .

Though sometimes it was the ultimate letdown to see some LB you quite fancied having a roll in the hay with slobbering on some slovenly looking guys bell end across the room , always a passion killer.

Koyo 7 was great too though we all moaned about it at the time, too bright, too in your face etc, but I wish we had it back now, I remember wanking off an LB at one of the tables as we looked down at the throng going to Walking Street, ah the joys of Pattaya !

Found a place to buy reading glasses for 39 baht.

It's on the ground floor of TukCom on Pattaya Tai between the escalators next to the donut stand.

Always the man to spot a bargain PD !

With your new 39 Baht glasses, you will hopefully spot many more :bling:

These days I don't frequent the ladyboy bars as much as I used too and much prefer going to places like Scooters, The Marquee, the Cocktail Cars around Pattaya,  and the Go Go bars on LK Metro etc etc,  maybe I  am getting past it

I'm with you there Dave, there are some great bars springing up around Pattaya now where you can listen to good music without being pestered, I enjoy these places more

Gets my vote.  It wasn't the best bar in the world,  but there and then, it was to  me.

Cascades and Obsessions weren't "bars", but nonetheless heaven.

The LB scene was new to me, great staff,  friendly owner(s),   a good place to meet up fellow mongers in Bkk, a city I used to love around 10 years ago.

I agree BKK around then was great - early evening at Guess then a tour of nana not knowing what (or who) would spring up that evening.

I did enjoy 131 Bar in its brief incarnation but EZY was excellent if there was a group of guys in and Karl on the wheels of steel, more than once I left squinting into the early morning sun .... ah the memories :good:

 Is Jojo still around? She must be pushing 50 now.

Anyone remember the mamasan? Donnnnnny used to tell a funny story about her and her thumb!

I think she is, there's about 3or4 I recognise in there who seem to have been around forever including the guy with the shaved head and giant Buddha who seems to be the manager

I had one quick ( very quick) drink there last trip like all LB bars its fun with a few mates but a different experience when you are alone
