Don't you worry none Jimmy. After all you have August to ease your mind and body. Which sort of reminds me, i will probably see her on the 15th at Emmy's, is there anything you want me to say to her on your behalf? I hope there is, don't for god's sake leave it to me to make up......

Tell her that we've been married for six months !

I wish I was living there and could keep my favourite in a dungeon.

...  Hop-Hip and Deep House...we can sing along all day!

Gawd it sucks being old. I just can't relate to any music lbs like. It just underscores the fact that I am twice their age :sorry:.

    A dad-in-disco disaster story!

    Barfine-able? 55

Not the Stones obviously but I wonder why bands with a smaller audience but still very well known don't perform in TH. Especially in a place like Pattaya with its large visitor numbers and expat community. It's a ready-made audience for those bands. I think it's some kind of visa issue which prevents Western musicians performing (you'll see a few in Bangkok but they probably only play for beer money). Only the Filipino musicians seem to get a pass.

It's a big missed opportunity by Thailand IMO.

    it's really very easy.

if you don't want to be bothered by someone, just start telling them about Indian tranvestites getting free housing in somewhere you have never heard of.

    They'll soon be fast asleep.

If you really want to get rid of them permanently, talk about Afghani trannies in England as big truck's are passing by the bar....

    Wickedly funny Grunt !

I imagine explaining the rules of cricket to them might have the same effect.

Here are the photos that best characterize Jenny. A big asshole and a face that is ready to bite. She's lucky she was sentenced  to only 9 years in prison for her boyfriend's murder.

    Photos by P/G of course.

Details on what happened were pretty sketchy. A friend demanding money. Both high. Jen impulsively over reacting. It was out of character but she'd been heading for a big fall. F*cking drugs. Was her sentence only nine years? As this happened several years ago, she might be out in 1-2. I liked Jen a lot even though it was only a brief acquaintance - I hope she can sort her life out.

Stones Saturday and Bob in September , thats enough. Cost me a damn good 4-week millionaire soi 6 splash, buying drinks to all the barowners included.

I love these blues men, bought Mannish boy album long time ago. That said, honestly I'm too white, I don't have that in me,  but to my defence I never listened to Fleetwood Mac.  I'm a privileged gen x who wouldn't know first thing about the hardship these guys went through.

Rediscovered Beck the other night. The guy is a genius. Saw him live in the nineties right after Loser came out. Brilliant gig. We weren't sure wtf hit us.

I think seeing the Stones and Dylan is money well spent mate. I haven't visited LOS since 2019 but did about ten times in the seven years before, and to be honest I was and am a bit jaded with Thailand. I'd rather see a music legend at home.

    (ladyboys.....meh!!)

I like Beck too but heard a few stories which suggest he's a bit of a dick. Talented though.

  7. You lucky cashed up concert-going bastards...! (Kidding - good luck to you all). My evening last night was at home listening to blues music - the old stuff like Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Little Walter, Buddy Guy, Leadbelly, all those guys ... I don't have much patience with those today who say white people "stole" black music (music is supposed to break out of its culture and infect others), but it's totally true that white rock and roll couldn't have existed without the black man's blues.

I would have loved to have been at this gig, a couple of years before Muddy passed -

so.....Sunny has been discarded by Jimmy the butterfly heh?

QG.... the road is open for you!

QG had better not be the jealous type - Sunny says she wants "10,000 husbands by the time [she's] thirty". I think she's well on the way...

I figured August might have a more traditional view to the sanctity of our marriage vows (which she doesn't know about yet).

Hiya Jimmy, nice to see you here.

you have any plans to visit?

I spent a fortune on the wedding to August (which she was absent from...can someone tell her!) So I have to start saving again from scratch... but like that yank, I shall return :yahoo:.

  10. I'm glad to hear it was a top night. I wonder how August got on (frequent visitor, not staff) - She doesn't know it but we're embroiled in a passionate tempsterious (sp?) affair at the moment. In fact I've married her - She doesn't know that either!

  11. This one was Jen, Cocktail and Dreams bar Phuket. Nearly 10 years ago. A great little femboy who I wish I'd known longer. Unfortunately had a bad drug habit and ended up going to jail for murder of all things. Totally out of character - she was very sweet and honest when I knew her...

Tonight in concert  with Johnny Depp at the hansum sum of 200 bucks per ticket. Screw that, I’ll pass.

This is an issue that grinds my gears - the expense of ticket prices these days. I saw bands all the time when I was younger, as we all did. Being young was part of the reason, but it was also affordable. I haven't seen many of the legends I want to (Stones come to mind) because I can't afford to pay bloody hundreds of dollars for the privilege!!

I don't think it's always the musicians or promoters being greedy (though some are - looking at the Eagles). I understand there are huge overheads in mounting a tour, but it never used to be so expensive -- it's just something else that sucks about modern times!

  13. I wish I knew how Mick dyes his hair (surely he must). It's a good job and looks alright. I tried just before my last trip to TH three years ago. I decided it looked awful (dead animal on my head!) and got it cut off with a severe hair cut in Jomtien (then looked like a criminal!)

    Really?

I honestly don't think they do. These events made a lot more sense twenty and more years ago when there was far more active discrimination and hostility to alternate lifestyles. Nowadays they have achieved that acceptance, at least in our countries...

There's no such thing as a LBGT+++ community btw. They're just as disparate a group as hetero people are. (That comes not from me, but an e-friend in the UK who is in a same sex marriage).

  15. Pride months and gay parades leave me cold tbh. I don't relate to them as they don't seem to have anything to do with me. And the trans debate in the West gets pretty extreme and ridiculous IMO. But Pride month is a big deal for ladyboys in Thailand. It's meaningful for them and for that reason alone I applaud it. (Wish I could upload a 'ticktok' of a favourite BKK lb celebrating her pride month).

  16. My last favourite bingeworthy tv series was Justified, which ran for six seasons I think. It's about US marshals in Kentucky. Unnecessarily violent but good story lines and characters.

All time favourite series is The Wire. I don't think any other television drama ever made touches it or comes near. Epic in its scope and writing.

  17. What a load of fuss about nothing. Ok I did watch the incident once. As duke said, only in America, and I'm all for it. Oscar nights are a bore anyway (very few decent films still made) so a bit of biffo might bring us back... Nothing I'd like to see more than Hollywood trash and the rich and shameless getting stuck into each other. They should drop names into a hat to pit celebs against each other. Oscar night becomes Fight night. Personally I'd like to see some child actors get belted like bells by men twice their size.

Looks like Sunny had a better experience than a former Miss Tiffany finalist.

A first-runner up for Thailand’s Miss Tiffany beauty pageant for transgender women was denied entry to Dubai when immigration at the airport questioned her about her gender. Her passport says she is male. Apparently, she had to wait hours at the airport and talk to various authorities about her gender and surgery.

Rachaya “Mick” Noppakaroon was the 2014 Miss Tiffany’s first-runner up in Pattaya. She was recently invited to Dubai to do a Muay Thai demonstration this month at the World Expo. She says she had prepared all the necessary documents to enter the country, but at the airport, she got held up by immigration officials because her passport showed that she was male, prompting questions about her gender identity and medical procedures.

Mick wrote on Facebook saying “it was a nightmare in reality.” She was separated from her 14 friends and then asked to wait at the immigration office for nearly three hours. During the meeting with immigration authorities, she says officers shouted at her while asking her different questions about her gender. She tried to explain that she was visiting Dubai to work at the Expo

She said the officers shouted at her while asking her different questions. She tried to show her works and reasons why she visited Dubai, but she told the authorities focused only on her gender. Mick says authorities made her feel awkward with the question, “why do you do a sex change operation?” She says she tried really hard to explain, but started crying.

Mick says authorities explained that Dubai was a Muslim country and she could not enter because her gender indicated on her passport did not match her gender identity.

In Thailand, transgender people cannot change their gender identity on passports. Mick says Thailand should consider allowing transgender women to revise their identification documents to match their gender identity.

The US government is in the process of updating passport forms to allow an “X” gender neutral marker in addition to the “M” for males and “F” for females.

    https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thailands-miss-tiffany-transgender-pageant-finalist-denied-entry-into-dubai-due-to-gender

I think "Mick" may have tried to enter the country dressed and appearing female. I don't think they can do that. Sunny had a haircut and needed to dress as a male to get into Dubai.

I'm not sure about changing the gender shown on passports. I see it as a slippery slope to other changes. (Though tbh those changes are already happening).

in Thailand? they will be wearing them here for the rest of their lives. Usual thing this morning , i went into a shop and the mask had slipped below my nose... mass panic ensued!

PD without a mask is like a cowboy without a hoss... Won't happen...  not unless his covid insurance pays for the amputation of it...

I take it mandatory masks in TH still apply? At home it hasn't been compulsory for several months. But you still see some who do, like a neighbour here who wears hers to go to the letterbox. :fool:
