I am back in Asia and had thought not to report on it this time as to not reinforce the impression that I share so much of my personal travels and sex life that it becomes an imposition on BMembership and I am oblivious to it.  Also, given the frequency and duration of my travels to Asia since 2022, I feel I have become a bit more like a semi-sexpat for whom, like for the full sexpats, sex becomes a default state and there is no longer that urgency to have as much of it as there is during a 2 week trip like I used to do and therefore no reason to report on what becomes a normal steady state.  There is also the aspect that I am devoting more and more of my travel sex time to GGs and it would become an irritant if I reported on all of it in a ladyboy board. So, like the sexpats, perhaps it's time I let the sex tourists do the TRs while I patronizingly read them and bask in my self-declared superiority whereby I have become too good to make the effort of sharing my stories and pics.

Problem is: I ENJOY TRing to the point that my trip experience without TRing is diminished.  I also know that some readers enjoy my action-ladden TRs while others resent them, both of which such reactions motivate me to keep writing.

So I will be sharing some happenings from this trip that will last into March and that is a different trip from all previous others because it's my first after a major surgical operation from which full recovery will take some time and will hamper the frequency and intensity of sex for me and my choice of partners who, in the case of the sissies, will be mostly previous acquantices I am comfortable with as not to be under pressure to perform and whose extended companionship I enjoy not just for the sex. 

My posts will be sporadic and non-chronological, at leas.t I intend so at this time but there is also a chance, especially when I get to TH, that this could evolve into a more classic TR.  I will give an example of such posts with my next post.  Now it's 9 PM in Manila and it's time for me to go out and get me some pussy for the night

Thanks The-Sith.  Fantasy Lounge and Nidcha right next door to it (since closed) made the lower-mid TOP 10 rankings most years prior to covid and PRIOR to Chayapoom diverting the mongers from soi Buakhao proper.  Last year (2023) I was not so impressed with Fantasy Lounge.

Surprise Yourself never made the TOP10 list and may have been an oversight on my part but they were not in business that long.  Moreover, it was precisely during the period when TJ's Lily reigned supreme. It was a well fitted bar with some hot ladyboys that got poached by CIB. (that's the June edge being a ladyboy herself)

In my view only the TOP 5 bars I listed were serious contenders.  I give myself some leeway in awarding the #6 to #10 rankings to highlight special situations.

I'd like to add that in making the TOP10 list, I also let myself be influenced by bar-diplomacy for the bottom of the list slots.

For ex: this year I put Peachy Lily on the list at #10 even though I did not go there and from what I see online the ladyboys there are few and not so hot.  But then there is Lily and I want to remain on her good side as she knows me and might remember when I gave the 2 Romscars to M at TJs.  Plus I have a hunch Peachy Lily will take off in 2024 and I am giving it a good pole position.  All it will take is for Youngone to send over 3 or 4 of the hotties from KRUs (which he said he would not do).

Another example: My crush on one of the Bon Bar sissies may have slightly biased my choice to put it at #6.  But it IS a TOP10 bar and the best sissy bar along soi Buakhao.

Another example: since joining LBR and seeing how much Emmy's Bar meant to some BMs, I included it in past years at the bottom of the TOP 10.  But this year I just couldn't.  It was for most of the year a 2 ladyboy bar and one of them has to be romanced and the other has become more business-like.

Another example:  New 69 bar.  Late comer in 2023 but was packed when I passed by there all the week of the inauguration. I did not see any ladyboys that made me want to stop for a beer, but sure saw plenty of them Cliquers... so the place must be doing something right.

Another example:  Sally's Bar Jomtien.  I have no idea if it is open, let alone if it has hot ladyboys...  I remember going there 10 years ago and horsing around with the sissies Baby Boom style.  Or was it not Sally's bar?  in that inner soi where cars don't run?... Out of my range ....

So yeah it is personal.   When I used to do the Romscars at PY I polled BMs to vote for the different award categories and each of their votes counted as much as mine.  Except for Bar of the Year.  That one I had to pick all by myself to have a modicum of objectivity.

Being somewhat of an outcast and not bound to any bar or bar owner, I believe I do as good a job as anyone would, including in explaining my choices as I hereby have done.

It's the responsibility of the person(s) doing the ranking to have meaningful criteria and be impartial.

The reason that I am making this post is to reiterate once more that in awarding the Romscar for #1 Bar of the Year, in addition to the bar being reasonably staffed with attractive sissies and not overcharging, I seek to acknowledge bars that bring something new to the scene.  Which is why the Romscar goes to a different bar every year, with the exception of the years I gave it to TJ's and then the following year Jimbo joined there and made it even better and I gave it again.

If you look at my list of past winners, most of the winners were obvious choices for the respective year but once in a while a lesser known bar pops up.  Yes it had to do with my personal experience.  But part of that experience was knowing that I had discovered a gem most mongers were not aware of. 

The 3 dark horse winners in my list were (i) Minou in 2007, a short lived bar in soi VC-Sunee that I think was closed by the authorities for reasons I can't mention here and (ii) Boomerang Twin in 2016 that lasted another 2 or 3 years, both of which were unique in that they were staffed with beautiful silicone-and-mostly-hormones-FREE femboys like no other bars in Thailand at the time (or since!!!).  The 3rd dark horse was Baby Boom in 2014, which every monger came to know but back then not so many did when it opened in the exact location (I think!) where CS 2 just opened. (In fact I credit myself with starting the in-bar shenanigans at Baby Boom but that's another story).

There is also the case of New Bar that was never staffed with that many ladyboys, but when it opened in 2017 it had GGs that did 3sums with them.  Plus it had that positive energy of Petesie and New starting out something together and it drew and contagiated a lot of the mongers.  So I gave it the Romscar in the year it opened even though most other bars had more ladyboys around.

One that never won was 69 bar even though it was a steady TOP 10 finisher reflecting its popularity with the Patts regulars, that have since moved on to Delirious...  69 was 69! year after year.  Killer pool, table of wisdom and the knitting club ... it deserved some kind of longevity recognition but not a bar of the year. IMHO.

All this to say that I picked Cindy's not based on my personal experience (I went there only 4 or 5 times since it opened and only barfined once) but on the merits of the bar in less than 2 years becoming an established BKK mongers' landmark with its unique contingent of Cambodjan sissies and then opening a 2nd bar, which no one else did in 2023 ... or ever!  For these 2 reasons, CS 1 + 2 were one of the most clearly deserved, easiest Romscar picks I ever made.

Thanks DM for printing and framing (and paying for it!) and hand delivering the Romscar to Cindy as I had requested.  Besides the perfect end-year timing (I wont go to BKK until mid-February) I also felt Cindy & the gang would appreciate the award more if it came from you who they all know and cherish. And also that you would give more gravitas to the award being a more popular BKK punter than I am and our LBR content leader.  Back at PY I used to award also a Romscar for BM of the Year but I stopped here at LBR because there are too few contributing BMs to choose from, but if I gave one this year you (Dan Miller) would have won LBR BM of the Year hands down. 2023 was a good year for ladyboy bars in that none I know of folded (well there was that wannabe overpriced joint in Pratumnak... good riddance!) and there were newcomers to the scene (Cindy's Secret 2, Peachy Lily, and 2 or 3 in NEP where I am not sure the postie bars were there already in 2022).  But there's the caveat that I am seeing the numbers of sissies in most bars thinning and their ages advancing... Also I see more and more punters are coming for them from all over the world and prices and quality of service are reflecting the higher demand/lesser supply pressures ... As far as I saw, no ladyboy bar reopened in Patpong which is on its death throes down to a few GG bars and a couple of gay ones with beefy 30 year old dudes.  Of note also in 2023 is the passing of Iain the owner of Why Not, which a couple months later remains open and well staffed.

Here is the 2023 Romscar TOP 10 Ladyboy bars of Thailand list:

#10 Peachy Lily, soi LK Patts  opened only in December and I haven't gone there yet, but if it has the beautiful Lily Diva on the premises it makes the Romscar TOP10 automatically.  Let's see how high it will go in 2024.

#9  Duangjai, soi Chayapoom Patts is that other soi Chayapoom bar that operates in the shadow of Delirious but is just as well staffed with rock bottom ST prices quoted to me whenever I asked about LTs which the Duangjainites did not seem interested in (or allowed?).

#8  B-52, NEP BKK is the former DC-10 bar 2 doors to the left of the old Casanova in NEP.  On my first visit of 2023 it seemed coed with a couple ladyboys.  On my last it was all ladyboys with 2 or 3 very desirable ones. Has 2024 potential to go a lot higher than #8...

#7 Why Not, soi 4 BKK is the elegant spacious bar that was empty of other customers everytime I went there in 2023.  Good for me!?... except if you don't keep buying the sissies drinks there is no one else to talk to there. I wish the best for Iain's widow and that she keeps the bar in business.

#6 Bon Bar, soi Buakhao Patts is a personal favorite in that I am smitten by one of their sissies who transfered there from another bar down Buakhao.  But there are other hot sissies at Bon Bar, including one who has an identical twin down the street.

#5 Obsession, NEP BKK  Likely the best staffed bar in Thailand, it seems to be bypassed by most old hand farang ladyboy mongers.  Why? Perhaps because the premium image they project to attract the japs and the koryos intimidates us more value-minded farangs.  In 2024 I must remember to barfine a sissy from there and see if it changes my misgivings.

#4 KRUs, soi Diamond Patts  remains a rock solid bar choice and is the best staffed in Pattaya plus is the only sissy go-go there. It is only handicapped by the distance from the epicenter of the ladyboy world at Buakhao.  I hear it gets going kinda late which is when I never went there so perhaps it's me who is missing out on the bigger picture.

#3 Check-In Bar, soi 10 BKK remains the single most awesome ladyboy bar to gawk at many hot ladyboys in bikinis and on a good night there is no other place on earth as fun to party with your clothes on as there. But in 2023 I did not experience such good nights at Check-In and having won bar of the year in 2021 it would have to up their ante even more to win against the exciting newcomers.

#2  Delirious Bar, soi Chayapoom Patts was last year's winner for having become the unofficial headquarters for ladyboy mongers in Pattaya.  It remained so in 2023 and added more hot staff (although they lost their hottest one).  We are all grateful for Herbert's effort to keep drink and barfine prices as affordable as it gets.

#1  Cindy's Secret 1 and 2, BKK-Patts CS1 had from day 1 the innate edge of being managed by a popular ladyboy legend and in 2003 it consolidated its contender position by digging further into her (Cindy's) SECRET motherload of Cambodja ladyboys.  But the magic dust for the Romscar came from the opening of CS2 in Pattaya in what became the first ever ladyboy franchise in different cities.  I am looking forward to visit CS2 in 2024.  Well done Cindy and Gavin and I blow a kiss to my CS crush Lily.

All I can justify is that I try to make the Romscar Hall of Legends a credible exercise and to that effect:

1- Halls of Fame in general (rockn roll, footbal, country music, etc) don't just induct new members as soon as they reveal a spark of exceptional talent.  Rather the induction are after a solid track record or career and in many cases posthumously.

2 - I can't just give Romscars to monger pals of mine.  Mostly I gave to mongers I never met or interacted with online, and in one case I awarded one to one of the PY mods who 'unanimously' banned me. He deserved it hands down and banning me did not erase his other deeds. 

*** We had a case here in this board of a popular BM who I did not nominate personally but got the Romscar by acclamation, only to stop participating here not long after.  

3 - There are a few BMs here at LBR worthy of Romscar consideration including you PG who shares unique intel of Viet Nam and other non-Thailand countries. If I keep doing the Romscars I may well pick them in future years.

4 - Jaidee is an obvious candidate for the Hall of Legends for being the pioneer of ladyboy boards.  If he hadnt done it, someone else would have done it sooner or later, but being the first is what legends are all about ... He also had one of the first erotic websites with ladyboys.  Not many punters can show that.

5 - A couple BMs instantly expressing support for Jaidee was also a factor in my decision.

Last I heard Stogie was living somewhere upcountry.  He came up in conversation the other day in a visit to Cindy's as the first time I met Cindy was at a party in his house. Franck is/was quite the rogue.  Being a natural extrovert he was an excellent bar host.  If you weighted a bar's legendary status by years of operation giving extra credit to famous bars with a short life span then Franck's Club 131 with the iconic wallpaper and hot ladyboys would be the winner. Perhaps Club 131 should have been my Bar of the Year pick for 2007.  But that year there was also this other shortlived bar at Sunee Plaza called Minou that also only lasted a few months, Perhaps for legal reasons it was shut down along with another one nearby from the same French owner.  Does anyone else remember Minou?

I endeavor every year to add 1 or 2 mongers to my Romscars Hall of Legends and in doing so I try do it on the basis of documented merit.  Problem is that I am more familiar with the merits of some mongers than of others and the bias has been towards the more recently active on the field of play and online.  But I have inducted a few of the oldies (Captain Outrageous, Stealth) including 2 I never met (Ernesto, Paultain).

This year I am thinking of inducting 1 or 2 of the ladyboy boards pioneers and would ask BMs for help with their background and in picking one.  These are the 3 I have in mind and what I know about them:

JAIDEE -  All I know is that he is the guy who set up the first semblance of a ladyboy board at the Asian TS porn site and he did it in the free access part of the site after he (?) launched it in 2001. Prior to that, there had been a Yahoo Group, but Yahoo groups did not allow for the kind of recorded multilogue on different topics that an online board does.

STOGIE BEAR -  I know that he joined Jaidee at Asian TS and took over the mini-board management making it more technically advanced with subforums and user friendly to upload pics which greatly expanded membership to the point that the mini-board detached from the Asian TS domain and became the first truly full fledged ladyboy board TheLadyboyForums (TLF) which dominated the online scene until Stogie got greedy and made it a pay site and BMs scattered to other more recently launched boards that remained free.

FRANCK - The bar owner of the short-lived Club 131 on soi Yamato (2007?) is credited with being the first bar owner to actively promote his bar online on the abovementioned TLF where he uploaded many photos of his ladyboy staff.  Such active participation by bar owners would eventually become the main draw of ladyboy boards, namely the one who has come to dominate the scene despite being moderated by thickos. Franck was also a bit of a rogue character allegedly fucking all his ladyboys and borrowing from customers who never saw their money back.  He is even said to have faked his own death.

So if any BMs knows a little more about any of these 3 oldies please share and let us know who you would pick.

Mongeringwise how were they?  I know Franck fucked every sissy that moved, but the other 2?  were they in relationships or also players ?

Because it is NOT a "hidden gems in mixed bars" map.  Only 2 or 3 of those bars are "mixed"  (Wanwood where you find a couple ladyboys by no means "gems", Coyote may have a few but again not "gems" and maybe Warm Up which I don't recall).  Juju is a disco not a bar.  

I can think of at least 7 bona fide mixed bars along the Buakhao-MIT axis that are not on that map (including 3 or 4 in Treetown) and that indeed have or may have "hidden gem" ladyboys amongst the GGs but I am keeping that info for myself and certainly not sharing it for the benefit of PY that does not want my contributions.

There are also "hidden gems" now on soi 6 where there are no more (as of the last time I passed there last year) all-ladyboy bars.  Quite a few "hidden gems" also in the mixed bars on sois 7, 8, 13 and in Naklua and elsewhere.

That map is helpful for a monger who wants to focus on the area of greatest concentration of ladyboys, which is the Chayapoom-Buakhao-MIT axis.  It's a ladyboy bars map, not hidden gems map, and it throws you off with the inclusion of Sensations which is out of the way and not worth the walk to go there beyond Chayapoom.

It's now 2023 (8 years since the post above) and another thread here in the Board was just started under the title "ladyboy prison" used as a metaphor for BKK and Patts, but it got me thinking about ladyboys IN PRISON, an outcome that periodically befalls some of our ladyboy bar acquaintances who get caught using or selling drugs.

So I googled "ladyboys in prison" and "ladyboys monkeyhouse" and a few articles and photos came up including this LBR thread that deals primarily with specific Pattaya ladyboys who were in prison in the early 2010s.  If interested, you can google yourself and read the same articles and I would only highlight here some info I found interesting:

In Pattaya, the imprisoned pre-op ladyboys are placed with the male inmates and their hair is completely SHAVEN.

The posties are placed with the female inmates and they can keep their long hair and dress in GG prison uniform.

(I guess the idea is to prevent all penises in the women's ward).

The ladyboys suffer greatly with their loss of femininity from having the heads shaven and not being able to afford hormones.

However, one of the articles quotes several ladyboys saying their life in prison was preferable to outside as they enjoyed more status among the male inmates who competed for their sexual favors and cooperation with cell upkeep chores.

Some ladyboys found loving or at least affectionate relationships in prison that they had not found outside. In some cases they djd not want to leave prison to stay with their lovers.

Some ladyboys continued to prostitute themselves in prison for cigarettes they then used to purchase other comforts.

Some ladyboys get HIV infected (and presumably transmit it) while in prison.

It seems the ladyboys can have the chop (gender reassignment surgery) while in prison.  (It's not clear from the article who pays for it).

A special prison facility was being set up near Bangkok for LGBT inmates to protect them from discrimination and abuse, including rape.  There did not seem to be a lot of interest from inmates to be moved there as it would distance themselves from their local relations.

There is more you can read for yourself if you do the googling and also some compelling pics like those below.  If this generates any further interest and more BMs post, perhaps we can share our personal experiences with ladyboys we know/knew who went to jail... I have known a handful, including in the PH where I heard nothing but that prison is hell for the ladyboys.

There is a variant to the "You are too big" buggery-dodging strategy, which is the "I am not clean" excuse I also get sporadically.

The problem with this one is that it may or may not be true, and the sissies are just giving you fair warning but will still let you bugger them.

If I assess them to be lying I insist since I wear a condom anyway.  Then if they were not lying, shit may happen but at least I am alerted for the pullout.  But more likely they ARE lying and after I insist they will still refuse or escalate to the "You are too big" pretext.
