  1. Dont feel bad about 2.5 years, i did it for about 28 years. 2 to 3 year stretches at a time with 3 or 4 month in between. Anywhere from central Africa to Ipanema Beach in Rio, from the rough civil wars and revolutions to cushy safe assignments. It did not kill me and the pay was good and assured a comfortable early retirement. When I look back and at the people who stayed home I have to say that given the choice i would do it all over again, sure I bitched at the time.

  2. Right now its not so much the PIGS but Italy. The PIGS being smaller countries where managable but Italy is too big to be bailed out and that puts the Euro into question. So be prepared for the Euro to stay at or below present levels.

  3. Sorry Tex, to the best of my recollection you do not qualify as Ladyboy :)).

I need to explaim my previous post, I did not mean to imply that Nicky is past 30. What made me ask the question is that she came back after some time with a sponsor and therefore does not seem to qualify as fresh stuff from Isaan as some BM's seem to prefer. As for myself, I could never get exited about femboys and ladyboys looking like 14 or 15 and I am much more attracted to the older group, maybe because silicone enhancement, maybe because they tend to look much more feminine or maybe because of the experience that comes with age or maybe because sometime I just like to have somebody else take the lead.

  4. Just curious. I am not a particular fan of Nicky or Emma but I wonder where does that wisdom of Nicky being jaded or a has been come from ? Does the same not apply to nearly all the LB's we meet in Pattaya? I would assume that many LB's we meet had a sponsor or a "long term boyfriend" at one time or an other and we still enjoy their company.

  5. Here is an other option somewhat away from all the action. Its the Boathouse hotel in Jomtien, located right on Beach Road near soi 8 at a price of 1300 Baht / day including all taxes for the premium rooms overlooking the beach. I am booked there for most of February after a couple of days at the Queen Victoria On soi 6.

  6. Yes, I agree. The bell bus service is the way to go. However, recently I found the bell bus website unresponsive when trying to make a reservation.

Here is some info for people who have never used the service. The first bus from the airport to Pattaya departs at 8:00 am and the meeting point for passengers is at level 1 at gate 8 inside the building, thats all the way to the left at the lowest level. Here a Bell Rep will collect the passengers, check theire reservation prior to leading everybody outside to the Bus.

  7. My Point, one can not allways judge based on our values or without knowing why people do what they do.

However, that is no way to say that it is an excuse to take advantage of people or kids in disfortunate conditions.

  8. Underage sex is sick and I even if I am not as drastic as Panicos I am all for locking these Types up for a long time and give them a chance to think about it (and maybe even get abused themself).

However, I am surprised that some BM,s are surprised that this is going on, it's an old story, and some of the older BM's may recall that way back some rural parents used to sell their young/underage daughter to highest bidders, many times falangs. Keep in mind we are talking a different culture here too and different values.

Now as far as Indian parents are concerned I would like to recall what happened to me quite a few years ago. In Colombo, Sri Lanka leaving an expensive restaurant after dinner we where approached by a mother who tried to give us her baby daughter hoping that the little girl would have a chance at a better life with one of us.

Many young kids in Sri Lanka and India where mutulated by the parents to make them more successful beggars. It's not always a phone or new cloth that make kids do what they do. It's a dirty world out there.

One does not have to go to Asia to find misery, while in Mexico during Christmas time I got involved in a private collection for poor local kids. Little did I know what the definition of poor was. When the time came to distribute the goods I was asked to come along and we went to the city garbage dump and for the first time in my life I saw families living on and off the things they found on the dump.

  9. Here is one website I use frequently : hotelscombined.com it puts most of the hotel search engines together for an easy comparison of prices and taxes.

RX - i agree with you, i would not get on a flight without having checked the seats on SEAT GURU

  10. I have to agree with Duke and think that the difference of opinion is due in part to Mardi and RXPharm looking at it from the local expat point of view and Duke and myself are looking at it from a tourist point of view. Without counting and comparing each of the various price categories I do know that I pay substantial more in BKK than in Pattaya. BKK offers more options when it comes to sightseeing and shopping but as far as the ladyboyscene is concerned it has serious short comings when compared to Pats. Even after a few years visiting Thailand I find the "places" in NEP intimidating and after I have made my round than what. Yes, I can relax in Guess Bar but that is only one vs many relaxing bars in Pats. In Jomtien I can go to a reasonable beach in the morning and after lunch can start going bar hopping, in BKK I have to wait until later in the evening to go out and all day long stare at the TV in the hotel room. No, I am with Duke. For me its 2 day BKK do what I need to do, forget about NEP and Guess and spend the rest of my 3 weeks in Pats. By the way, during my various visits I never encountered 30 LB's in Guess. I do find that BKK gets boring after a couple of days but never had that problem in Pats. I do realize that not everybody feels that way and quite a few are happy spending all their time in bkk and hang out at Dog watching the NEP traffic but that just is not for me.

  11. Good bye Guess Bar, NEP here I come. The choices are more and, hate to say it, in my opinion better and last time I used the Guess Bar room above it was filthy . Anyway I try to limit my LB days in BKK now and spend more time in Pattaya.

  12. PDogg - You may be right about them not hating us, but dont fool yourself I am sure they would thro us to the woolfs without a second thought. I lived and worked in Iran before and during the revolution and in the Middle East before and during the first gulf war (not in uniform) and what I learned is to never trust them and expect the worst and that goes for the Haves and the Have Nots. Remember Osama was one of the Haves too. Never turn your back to them. Just my own personal experience.

  13. Here the latest as of Nov 21 BKK time - Public polls were against it and Thaksin himself wrote a letter promising not to accept a pardon even if he got one - so the government has dropped its plan to include ex-prime ministers in exile in the draft of a royal decree. This as per BKK post and if correct should cool heads in modays protest marches of the yellow shirts and support marches of the red shirts.

  14. For the Hound of B - I get my news from the Bangkok Post and local contact. Here is the latest for entertainment: Taksin says he will not take the Royal Pardon if given and tomorrow Monday Nov 21 the red shirts and yellow shirts will take to BKK streets again. In preparation the police has been mobilized and the military has promoted and shuffeled command to make sure there is sufficient loyalty in case needed. Sounds familiar does it not?
