Part 1. Somewhere in Mandaluyong, next to Makati, in Manila is a beautifully installed shower tray......years and years ago on my first travels here I met a GG.  Later, filled with love and lust and and struggling with a streaming cold, I used air miles to fly from Europe to Manila for a long weekend stay with her.  She was living with 3 other girls (courtesy of a range of sponsors) in a small and fairly run-down apartment.  First night I realized that the shower floor flooded each time it was used.  No idea what possessed me but I volunteered to fix it all.  Fuelled by Sudafed, jet-lag, rum, some weird male machismo and the possibility of multiple grateful BJ's I spent all weekend buying a new tray, removing the old one, finding new tiles, grouting, putting on sealant, adding an extra overflow outlet and so on.  I barely left the bathroom - I was completely obsessed. I finally finished about 3 hours before my flight was due to depart. It looked lovely. Didn't receive the ultimate oral thanks from the residents though.  Some three weeks later the first e.mail arrived requesting help with college fees / rent / clothes etc.  Never saw her again.  The strangest thing is that rarely before had I done anything that could remotely be described as DIY and to this day I still can't work out how I managed it all.

If the week leading up to this event is like last year it should be a fun time in Pattaya with all the parties happening.  A great occasion to kick off Party Season 3.  We'll start a thread to cover that nearer the time.  Anyone got any definite plans to be around come late Oct./November yet?

Again, she would be a part of the "new" group of superstars but unless you have spent a lot of time in Pattaya in recent years you would have no idea who she was.  Some other people talk about a ''Noon'' in Pattaya who is somehow the leader of a whole group of LB's and may be semi-famous but I saw her once at Sensations and frankly she looked average to me.

 

IMO for someone to make a list of the most famous they should be easily recognizable to anyone that follows the LB scene, someone such as Mint or Areeya who have their own pay websites and have been popular for years.

Jaidee, This is the Noon I asked you about last year to see if you had any videos of her. yes, she does not look as exciting as she did in her Club 131 and JSB days when she was thinner and less 'wild'. Glasswax

Just my 100 riel on the politics, nothing wrong with eminent domain to promote the greater good of society however if one's land is seized one should be fairly compensated and it seems the powers that be never want to be fair if they don't have to be.

Where do you think the profit margin comes from in a job like this? Lo-ball the bid and make the profit where you can. That is how it is done in Asia.

There are other options. The outdoor areas of Baby Boom Agogo and LaBamba. One can sit, relax, have a drink and chat up the ladies. And the great atmosphere and good craic of Sensations. These are open air, relatively laidback and relaxing places. In Bangers, there is Darkside and Guess (the outdoor portions). However, the bars have the widest selections, so find a target, chat her up, sit outside and cement the deal either then or a later date. Get a phone number and arrange an afternoon meet.

Where there is a will, there is a way to get laid.

With the onset of puberty starting earlier than ever these days, there are many a young teen going out to bars & being served. I personally know parents worried that their 13yo daughter could get served alcohol in any bar they went to & had to regularly tell gentleman callers on the phone that their daughter was a child. And don't ask me why they were still allowed out, that argument was exhausted long ago.

 

It's actually worse in LOS because of the economic imperative of earning the money their daughter can make. There a gentleman caller would be encouraged. Who do you think is responsible for that 13yo in Pattaya for being there in the first place? Mother of course.

I have also known very young GGs who had fled the village after being molested by a family member, particularly by step-fathers.  Glass

I really hope that the recent move to a venue, that includes rooms for rent, will be a new start for the La Bamba team

 

I personally have always had a soft spot for the bar and still reckon that it is one of the best run and friendly lounge bars in town.  When Frank started 131, with Sam, the intent was a smaller copy of Guess bar.

 

When Frank left Sam was caught short - he discovered he owned very little for his investment. I did the audit. Frank could sell snow to Eskimos.

 

The decision was made to start fresh - La Bamba was born. Sam had some interesting experiences. Previous partner stripped the bar and took off. Only a police notice, barring her from the premises, and a 1 month closure enabled Sam to reopen. She held the various licenses but, fortunately, no the lease.

 

Nok now became the licensee, mamasan and cashier.

 

Sam gradually lost interest in the bar and basically went silent. He just stopped communicating.

5 months of accounts were unpaid and the bank book could not be renewed as it was in Sam's name.

 

After 3 years Nok had a choice - take over Sam's expiring lease or quit. She carried on with much encouragement from Ciobha and so many others. Her concern was that Sam could reappear at any time and reclaim fixtures and fittings.

 

Nok needed someone to share some of the responsiblity and help her. Annie joined the team. Annie is a tough cookie with a level head and has known Nok (and Nancy) for years. She is a huge calming influence and a bastion of support to Nok - like a big sister.

 

November 2012 dealt an even more cruel blow - the landlord wanted a 67% increase in rent and further key money. LaBamba was on the brink of needing to close - no cashflow and an exorbitant rent.

 

A miracle occured as then an alternative venue in the same Soi was found.

 

Nok has been through a tough period never knowing what her future may hold. Now the move finally breaks any ties, with the past, and she can look forward to operating her own bar and Guest House.

 

Nok and her staff have a unique opportunity - many bars are struggling with shorter High Season and lower, slower Low season so any new stream of income is a huge bonus.

 

Most Thai operated bars have poor visibilty on the Forums as the Thai operators seem incapable of updating forums.

 

Having 4.17 to help promote is fantastic. In the past they relied on their customers and 'friends' to post on their behalf.

 

I wish LaBamba, Nok, Annie and all her team all the success that they really do really deserve.

The barfines are 300 baht at sensations.

The price of longtime is between you and the girl but I would expect it to be approx 1000/1500

The staff at the bar are instructed to never come out with all that jealousy shit and you can take a different girl each night without any issues.

Not to contest the above, I do feel it is always wise to make it iknown that you are on holiday and you like to butterfly. It tends to save ruffled sensibilities. Always acknowledge the previous visit's partner on any return, don't pretend you don't know her. That will usually get you a lot of 'stink eye'. Nuff said.

I often refer to this as a bar full of midgets. Most of the girls are very short with petite bodies - by no way, could this be called an Amazonian bar. Here is what I mean - the guy is 5'10". Yuki is one of the tallest in the bar, and she is on the left of the pic.

If I am not mistaken, Cartoon is now the shortest currently working.
