i remember that for the opening of the first Guess bar...i had to change my ticket so i could be there...and i didi it...i was there...and Jay who i never knew before started calling me Frank...she thought that i was Frank from pattaya...never knew the guy nor have i ever been to pattaya...she never believed that i came from greece..i remember that i gave her a small Colossus of Rhodes  for good luck...i had there the pleasure of having Jay and jenny's company....that was a very beautiful and very well done bar....  with very sexy ladyboys

I remember seeing that Colossus in Jay's apartment as I asked about it.    She took it home along with I believe a bottle of Ouzo or Metaxa which she kept in her fridge, I cannot remember which,   But for sure, she never left it in the bar.   She probably still has it to this day.  

I am really, really looking forward to this week of parties.     I will be playing 'spot the cheap skate' who has no ticket for the Charity fundraiser itself yet is happy to enjoy all the week long parties and free food.     Good times for those who do and bad times for those who do not.

Dave I think everybody has your chip (on the shoulder) already.   Heck its the second most asked question to me after who own's CIB lol.

53,950 baht was raised for charity just last night from the bar donating it's revenue.   Tonight all the winners have donated 50% of their prize money as well. Another 20,000b.    And its not done yet - the collection box in the bar has not yet been opened. It will be this week with an independent set of eyes to oversee.   That will then be added and kept open for a further month.     One bar is aiming to raise 100,000b for a orphanage focused on HIV infected babies in Nontaburi outside BKK.  The same charity the street bar raised some 30,000b + for last year.  

I really do wonder at some of the comments made by some BM's about fundraising.   Step up or shut up is my view.   Thus far I do not see either coming from some vocal supposed 'experts' on the scene.

That is Aem or Aom.  Been at CIB a couple of months now.  

For anyone fortunate to be in Bangkok this Saturday 30th August, the first Miss Check-in Bar competition is taking place throughout the evening.   All 34 members of staff are competing to win one of eight categories and prizes are up to 10,000b for the winner of each category.    It should be a big night.

34 LB's currently working at Check-in Bar.     Best time to see the most is about 9pm when most of the stragglers will have made it in.   At 6pm, you will see about 15 LB's working making it one of the only venues in the capital to be operational and staffed early.   The bar opens at 4pm and closes no earlier than 3am and often much later.

No effect whatsoever on Lao folk.    It is affecting Vietnam, they are only getting one 14 day visa then they have to go back to Vietnam.

Thus far, aside from couple hissy fits in Phuket and the Myanmar border for Westerners, its business as usual, despite what people on Thaivisa tell you.    i.e if  a guy in Pattaya does a in/out passport stamp Bus run to Cambodia - they are operating exactly as before and you get another 30 day stamp if you are from some G7 countries and 14/15 days otherwise, at least for now.  

There is concern, my GF is Lao and has to do this every month - she said its Russians, Vietnam and South Korea who are getting much more attention.   Thus far nothing for Cambodia or Lao.

Nat and Polly are supposed to be the two biggest girls.   never seen either's plumbing so cannot speak first hand, but that is what I am told. 

I have been there, but go and see for yourself.  Go and see all the venues in bkk - they all have their own merits.   but prepared to be amazed - BKK is the home of the most stunning LB's in Thailand.

Yup pretty sad but just a refection of yaba/ice use here.  Although what we have done is nothing compared to my old equivalent at his house in jo'burg - now that was a prison and i do not keep a pistol in the glove box either.      But its not one house - there are 8 in the compound and many cameras are for each house.      Not so much when you take it over 8 houses and all the systems are pretty cheap these days.
