  1. Istanbul is a city I have considered visiting, for a variety of reasons. But this thread is gold dust, and a complete surprise. Was thinking of travelling in female company, but this suddenly alters my thinking.

Might persuade 'katoeylover' to be my wingman (or vice versa!)

might be more fun than Lisbon!

  2. I am not so active on any boards any more, mainly due to the fact that i am not that interested in the bar scene so much now, but more to the fact that i am too busy too check in every day.

However, was talking to the Duke today and he tld me to check in, so here i am.

I like here cos all the "clan" is here. However the login process really pisses me off! sorry PD but i have to login every time.

  3. From my own personal experienceS, long distance relationships DONT work

well speaking from my experience, they can work, but work is what they need.

as most here know, we have been together for over 2 years, she has been home for 2 years now and is loving life away from the bar.

Now, i am nough of a realist to know the basics, but what i do know is that i have a companion when i visit LOS 4-5 times a year (I am here next weekend for a flying visit and she will join me in bkk for 3 nights).

I will never live in Thailand and i doubt she will move to Europe, but what we have suits us both for now.

Luckily i can afford to look after the family now, and they have a lovely house to live in. This suits me to the ground, and i dont give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks.

  4. 7-11, minmart and the supermarkets are not receiving regular orders because the warehouses are out in the affected areas.

though Central Bangkok remains water free for the time being, i would advise all visitors to go to pattaya, Hua Hin or an Island for the foreseeable future.

It is likely to be affected for a while yet..

  5. I have been in Bangkok since monday.

The area around central: ie Sukhumvit from Thong-lo to MBK and surrounding areas are water free and working as close to normal as is possible,

  6. "we live in interesting times"

a landslide for Yingluck and the Shinawatra clones.

The wine is so big that it will be near impossible for either the military or ruling elite to ignore or face the wrath of the rest of the worls. Thailand has spoken again and we must take note

As for Khun(t?) Shinawatra , when he returns will be very interesting. return he will, but in what capacity?

The north eastern provinces are delighted of course, but what is more interesting is the huge swing in Bangkok.

Bye bye mr Abhisit, you wont be missed...

  7. I agree - it seems churlish that both groups are at odds with each other.

Personally i cant fathom flying half way around the world to scrimp and save.

i am here on holiday and will enjoy my time whatever. worry about the money when you get home, and if you cant afford it - dont go.

Maybe there is some jealousy that they have money to spend? I dont know and dont care either really, we are a small group, we should all be able to get along.
