  1. I've followed NOTHING regarding the NFL yet this year.  All I know is the Saints D was kicking it all preseason.

Im going with what I think might be team emotion for most of my first picks.  Falcons gotta feel they have something to prove.  Maybe seeing the Pats get their ass kicked will motivate them today - giving a lot of points on the road

Thanks for doing this again Arch.  I'll try to get my picks in each week between all my great dining!  :- D

    Falcons

    Rams

    Texans

    Saints

Lunch ANYWHERE???  Hummmmm The Renaissance in Chid Lom has a nice Italian restaurant!!! LOL!!  Serioulsy, if you are buying I will defer to you.  I would be happy with a roadside 40 bowl baht of noodle soup or pork shoulder with rice!!!  The food court at Paragon does a nice noodle soup with duck for 100 baht!!!!

Hey, if I'm in the mood to pamper myself, maybe we'll go high end.  I'll let you know in advance so you can leave your Mets cap in the apartment.   555

    Minimum 3 picks?  (sigh)   :Hmmmph:

  3. Come on, Arch, you ignored my sage comment:

But I gotta take it, this one is a given.  If only the whole season was this easy!!!

    Saints +6.5

Admittedly, I thought I was going to lose it early on in the game, but my boys covered.  If you look at the numbers for Saints/Falcons in the Ryan/Brees era, you'd see overwhelmingly the games are a FG or less, particularly in the Georgia Dome.  Saints have the best record of any visiting team, games played in that dome.  So I felt pretty good getting so many points, but have to admit, the Falcons offense is super.  It truly was one of those games Vegas either loves or hates; Payton had gone for two the prior two TDs and failed.  I thought he would do it again, but Saints only needed a point to bring it to a one score game.  That extra point sealed the deal for me, and blew it for you!

But hey, you still get your Krispy Kreme lunch on me.  All we have to do is coordinate schedules.

Seriously, lunch is on me, anywhere you want.   :party0011:

OH, I only chose one game because I only felt good about one game.  And, I could have picked five and, while I'm no math whiz, don't think I would have caught you even if I ran the table.

Is there really any point in this?  But I gotta take it, this one is a given.  If only the whole season was this easy!!!

I'm searching all the drawers, sofa cushions, and under car seats for every last satang I can find.  Lunch at Krispy Kreme, Arch!!!  I can't wait!    :yahoo:

It was looking dire for a while there!  But my boys pulled it out at the very end, much to the chagrin of several of you.  Hey, it's always close in Atlanta!   :good:

  6. Since the only way I can gain ground here is going for broke, I'm going to take the Lions and the points, if it's not too late.  I've lost track of everything with the games on Saturday and no Sunday night game.  So, Arch, if I can, my fourth pick of this week will be the Lions +7.

  7. I thought making lots of picks improved one's average over time.  But mine has done nothing but go down since I began picking more games.  So much for that.  Guess it only works if you pick more winners!   :fool:

    Falcons +3

    Texans +2

    Raiders +4

  8. Freaking Lions couldn't score one TD????  Pricks.  If I remember correctly I chose them in the suicide pool in week one or two and got smashed.  They're supposed to win the north, they can't beat the giants?  Or come within 5????

Then I bet against hoody again!  What am I thinking???  Oh, I know.... I read that brady has a horrible record in Denver and they never beat the spread.  I gotta quit reading.  Where the hell is K.Daew?  I still want my apology.

And I didn't pick the bills? Again, what am I thinking?  Rule 1:  always pick with hoody, and against the browns.  I know this.  Why do I reject it at times?  If I don't do it this week, Arch, reject my selections!

If the skins cover, I'm .500.  So much for running the table and catching Arch.   :cray:

Arch, I'm just getting over a cold.  Thankfully it came AFTER I left Pattaya.   :yahoo:

  9. The only chance I have to win this is start running the table.  Betting max games and throwing it all out there!  This is the first week of going 6-0!  I'm coming after you, Arch!!!   :aikido:

    Lions  +5

    Steelers  -3

    Broncos  +3

    Buccaneers +7

    Saints  +2

    Redskins - 5

  10. Considering the 'hawks got trounced a couple of days ago, the line is interesting.  The Rams D was great until the Saints took them apart; I would expect them to get it back together for a divisional foe.  I guess I'll take the Rams - what have I got to lose at this point?  Did Greg Williams get fired, too?

Then again, can the Rams score any points?  Maybe that's the bigger issue.  I saw the Rams have scored 6 TDs all season, FOR THE WHOLE SEASON, at home.  That's hard to imagine.

Been watching the series "A Football Life" on NFL Network; I get it with the Season Pass.  I never watched them when on live, but I'm really enjoying it.  I've watched Jim Brown, Warren Sapp, Chuck Noll, sweetness, Steve Smith, and Mike Vick.  Today I watched Paul Brown.  OK, so hoody is not the greatest coach ever.  Paul Brown is.  But get this - when the NFL sucked up a few teams from the old AAFL, or something like that, back in the '50s, Cleveland was one of the teams.  They played the Eagles, who were the champs of the NFL.  I guess the game was sort of a predecessor to the colts/jets super.  The Eagles were "going" to crush the Browns. And I guess in those days the game was all about running.  Well, Paul Brown's team comes out passing and doing all kinds of fancy stuff, and kicked Philly butt.  So for the next few months all the bitching from Philly was, in a sense, they didn't play fair, can't win playing "real" pro ball.  So next time Browns-Eagles played, Cleveland RAN THE BALL EVERY PLAY.  No passing for the entire game.  The only NFL game in history in which a pass was not thrown by one team.  Browns won, 13-7.

    You gotta love it.   :sword:

I'm going to think a little more about taking the Rams.  I think the line is too much, but if LA can't score a TD, it's easy to see the 'hawks mediocre offense scoring 17 pts at home.  Or at least +15.

So, Arch, I'm not taking that game yet; if I decide to do it I'll post my pick.

  11. Saints +3

    Pats  -7

    Redskins  -1

    Titans -1

    Chargers +1

    Bills  +2.5

hoody F'ing me lately, so decided against going with the pats this week.  Let's see how this plays out.  I'll go with the Ryan brothers instead.  Pretty brave, huh?

  12. I got wiped out. What you might have seen flash by was me throwing in the towel. Done!

Got destroyed in my fantasy league, too. Got a lineup to die for and not one of the fuckers even met projected point totals. Sick of getting beat by schmucks that dont even bench players on IR or a bye AND STILL WIN!!!!

I was recently on a flight where one passenger carried on a box of Krispy Kreme donoughts.

Don't get the appeal Bubs;  too sweet IMO. DunkinDonuts  for this Yankee but know KK is popular in Nawlins

Was the flight BKK to CM?  If you're Thai and you're going from BKK to CNX you have to carry KK as a gift. When going from CNX to BKK you have to carry fried pork rinds. Written somewhere......

Yeah dog, only one at a time to avoid sugar overload, but a few seconds in a microwave and it's heaven!

  14. Looks like someone (me???) is going to be buying Arch lunch.

Will Krispy Kreme work, Arch??  ;- )

Two different hotels, neither allow access to the site - says too many redirects. So struggling through this on phone. Ugh. But onward in an attempt to regain 2nd place!

Saints -6  Probably too many points but I thought that last week, bet against my boys and lost. Here's looking for redemption.

    Eagles -1

    Bears -1

Rams +14  hoody, don't let me down!

    Colts -2

  15. This is a tough one.  At first blush I said this is easy, pokes.  They pretty much roll everyone.  Then I checked a couple of boards and all the talk is "Vikings are desperate, pokes will be looking forward to the Giants game, etc".  The usual cliches about why the cowboys will lose.  So thought I'd stay away.  But I gotta catch Arch somehow!   :sword:

I hate to give points, and I really hate to give 3.5.  But I gotta go with the hot hand, and Dak's a home boy.  So.....

    Cowboys  -3.5

  16. Man, I didn't feel good about any of Sunday's picks.  And sure as shit, it proved out!  Lost two by .5 pt each!!  Should have kept it to a minimum as I had a good Thursday.

Arch running the Sunday table again!  I said weeks ago I was going to copy your picks, never have.  Shame on me.  Damn, Arch.  Tampa Bay????  Where you getting your tips?

And I went against my Saints..... :character00292:

  17. Rams  +7  Saints always seem to have trouble with the Rams; they should win but I expect them to F enough up to make it a small margin, as usual.

    Broncos -3.5

Giants  -7  One week the Browns are going to pull one off.  Or maybe they won't!  Could this be it?

    Bills  -7.5

  18. Last weekend I had my eye on a couple of games, and I read some of the "advice", such as "'skins will be looking ahead to the Thanksgiving matchup against their rivals the cowboys" so of course they were supposed to lose.  So I stayed away, and sure as shit the "experts" were wrong, 'skins rolled.  Now this week I'm hearing "Sunday night game, 'skins have to travel.....".  Screw them.

I love Prescott, a LA boy who that moron Les Miles ignored, so he went to MS State.  Meanwhile, Miles never had a QB at LSU his entire tenure.  And is Prescott the steal of the '16 draft?  A fourth round pick?  Think Cleveland is kicking themselves, again?

But never been a cowboys fan, and Cousins is on a roll, so I'm going with the 'skins!   :geek:

    Redskins  +7

    Steelers  -3

I should know better than to pick a game with the 1/2 point hook!!!!

i went to bed st halftime and it was 16-3 I think.  Doh!!!!!

i bet a couple of buck on this game but I actually bet it at -3.

The only part of that game I'm happy about is that half point!!  :sign0200:

  20. No reason for me to change now!  Anyway, love the 'dogs.

    Saints  +3.5

If you didn't see the way the Saints lost to the Broncos, you gotta see it.  As Saints fans are all too familiar hearing "for the first time in NFL history, a team lost due to a blocked kick being returned."  I didn't know the new rule was you get two points on a returned blocked kick.  In summary, there was less than a minute left on the clock when the Saints scored the tying TD (you gotta see that throw and catch, unbelievable), then all that was needed was the extra point for the saints to go up by one.  Kick was blocked, run back, Broncos win by 2.

Though just as bad as the whole episode is the fact the returner probably stepped out of bounds during the return.  Based on the reaction of people on the Saints sideline, I'm sure he stepped out of bounds, which probably would have resulted in the game going into OT.  But the official didn't see it (of course), and there were no sideline cameras, so it was impossible to tell through replay.  So, end result, Saints fucked again.

I could not have been more depressed this week if Hillary had won.

But this is a new week, right!!??  :sword:
