La Bamba

Hey kids, quick note to let you know there is a party tomorrow -- well, later today, 555. We have three things to celebrate. 1) La Bamba is coming up on its first year anniversary in its new location; 2) khun Nancy is back from her trip to Oz, and 3) one of our favorite regular customers, Magic, is in town. Huzzah!

It's the same rate it's been since the guesthouse opened at the new location, as it says on our website (linked in my signature) and here on the forum; 500 baht per night. Stay a week (7 nights) or longer, and you can get a weekly rate of 450 baht per night. A month (28 nights) and it drops to 400 baht per night.

Yes, they are small, by Western standards; if you want a room with typical Western amenities/standards, you'll want to look elsewhere.

If you've got a question about La Bamba, or a problem with the bar or one of the girls, you are welcome to post it here, of course. But if you can't use respectful language with regard to the girls, I'll just delete it and answer you via PM -- that is, if I can be arsed at all.

Bear in mind this isn't directed at anyone in particular, but the forum at large: you want to troll. please take it elsewhere. Start your own thread, or better yet, take it to that other forum where they love this kind of ignorant bullshit.

You want to feed the troll, well, I appreciate you coming to the defense of La Bamba, as I'm sure the girls do to. But all it does is give the troll what he wants -- attention. So again, please take it elsewhere.

No problem, from my side, to adopt the formalism that you recommend, but my question remains the same: "she" was fully available to be shagged by me in the upstairs room of La Bamba, but not in my hotel room (located close to La Bamba, by the way). Why? Perhaps because "she" is used to attract clients to the La Bamba rooms? In this case, who would be more respectful towards "her": myself, ready to pay a good price for renting "her" body for a while, or the La Bamba mamasan?

That has absolutely nothing at all to do with it. In fact it's less work for the staff to do short times off the premises, in terms of cleaning/prepping the rooms, etc. Some of the girls do prefer to use their own rooms, however, here in La Bamba, simply because it is convenient for them -- this is where they live, after all. 

The barfine for taking a girl off the premises vs. renting a room comes out the same, so it isn't a matter of money or anything to do with the mamasan. 

No, I know it must be difficult to believe, you being *such* a handsome man and a big spender and all, but she didn't go with you simply because she didn't want to.

It is as simple as that.

La Bamba isn't Coconut Bar; these girls frequently get taken to fancy hotels and restaurants, not to mention trips abroad. That is not to say the girls in La Bamba think they are better than anyone else. They don't. They don't put on airs or act hi-so; most of them come from modest rural families, like most bar girls in Thailand.

But the fact of the matter is they are popular enough that they can pick and choose who they want for customers, and it is entirely up to them. 

Maybe she just didn't feel like going with a customer that night. The fact that you didn't want to go upstairs but did want to go to your hotel gave her a way out without you or her losing face. But I don't know.

But I will wager it was your attitude. Your attitude and choice of language belies your willingness to adopt "formalism," as you so eloquently put it -- you talk of her as a "boy," for one thing, which is a grave insult to Thai ladyboys. Many of them don't even like the term ladyboy, in fact. It's a serious loss of face, calling a ladyboy a boy, and I've seen more then one idiot customer make a butt-first exit from a ladyboy bar because they called the girls "boys." 

I'm not saying that will happen in La Bamba, but if you come into the bar with that attitude, you'll likely leave empty-handed and have to go somewhere else. Which is just fine with us; no problem -- there are plenty of bars and ladyboys here. 

Then you speak of "renting her body" -- at least you got the pronoun right, that time -- the girls don't see it that way; they don't view the transaction that way. There are some girls here in Pattaya that do see it that way, though -- you are welcome to them, but you won't find them in La Bamba; it's obviously not the bar for you. Again, no worries and no problem -- you are welcome to go elsewhere.

Simply put, the girls here will not go with you if you are impolite and disrespect them. They aren't going to be impressed with your money or your hotel or whatever airs you want to put on. I've seen plenty of guys of modest means who are anything but handsome, whom the girls absolutely fawn over -- simply because they treat them right. 

It's as simple as that. 

This is a Buddhist culture; they believe in karma and the Golden Rule here. The way you treat people here is the way they will treat you.

Sindy's birthday part on Friday, November 15. If you've experienced a party at La Bamba, you know the girls pull out all the stops. There are of course many photos on the La Bamba website of Sindy and previous parties, but here she is recently (at a recent party in the bar):

Whalp, the party on Monday night was a big success; the bar was busy all night and the girls looked fantastic (as usual). Poor Annie didn't get out from behind the bar all night. But special thanks to our friends from Kings Bar 2, Stringfellows, TJ's and Sensations for visiting -- among our many other august customers that night.

Just go and barfine her already, Duke, 555. Looks may be intimidating, 'tis true, but Sindy is probably the easiest person to talk to in La Bamba, not to mention one of the most easy-going. 

Just a friendly reminder of tomorrow night's sponsor thank you party (Monday, Oct. 21) in La Bamba: a thank you to those that sponsored La Bamba in this year's charity water volleyball tourney, and everyone that sponsored a team. Of course everyone is welcome.

True story. Us La Bamba denizens were hanging out with the Famous Bar duo, Karl and Lita, the other night, in La Bamba. It came up in conversation that someone was incensed that 4:17 was badmouthing me in this very thread. So much so that they almost came to my defense, but then saw that I had diffused the situation.

So lest anyone else be confused and feel the need to come to my defense the next time 4:17 takes the piss, let's just say Khun 4:17 and the person that posts as La Bamba, being me -- well, we're pretty tight, shall we say. In fact we're just about as tight as these two guys: 

So no need to worry. He's actually a somewhat hoopy frood who knows where his towel is. 

TRUMPETS DO NOT IMPLY SIZE.

All depends on the trumpet. 

Of course that doesn't imply size so much as exhibit it, I suppose.

But you know, being a Yank, I hear a chorus of Hallelujah, with an orchestra (with trumpets giant or otherwise) and all the implied grandeur, and I naturally think "big." Grandeur = big, in the American cultural zeitgeist. The first time I saw natural D-cup breasts in the flesh (so to speak), I definitely heard a chorus of Hallelujah (I don't recall what size the trumpets were, though). 

That design firm must have some Yanks on staff.  Anyway, we've cleared that up for my fellow colonists at least.

Just a few updates. WiFi is available in all the guest rooms now, although reception tends to be better near the front of the building. 

Also, the La Bamba ladies have been busy during low season, sprucing up the guest rooms a bit with fresh paint, wall decorations and whatnot. Here, for example, is Room no. 1, as it is now designated (formerly Room 31). As you can see, compared with the photos above, the rooms look a bit different. 

Also, they are now equipped with flatscreen TVs (as seen below). 

Three things: 

1) Thanks, Khun 67, but trumpets may imply size; don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. As I say Anna was quite modest in her choice. In fact in her house dress last night, if I hadn't known she had gotten her breasts done, I might not have noticed at all. I'll get some pictures up as soon as she'll let me, 555. 

2) It's on the calendar, but I'll mention it here, too: Friday, September 20, is Nok's birthday! Details are still being finalized, but you can rest assured the girls will celebrate as only they can in La Bamba. Of course there will be the usual: food and a cake at midnight, lots of bell ringing and whatnot. So come help us celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the owner and hostess with the mostess.
