  1. I read about them , a bunch of cool dudes in mohair suits and smart overcoats .

Legend has it the Kray twins took a train to Manchester in an attempt to take over their patch , took one look and jumped back on the train to London .

theyre all old men now,but still well respected "jimmy the weed" has even brought a book out!....(i stood in Waterstones and read a huge chunk of it)...sadly,he hasnt long left,he has the big C....

Theres many conflicting stories about the Krays coming to mcr....i believe the one where they were met bt Mcr CID,who put them on the next train back.....not very exciting, but the most likely imo....

  2. Hibernia comes from the Latin word for winter as the Romans viewed it as a land of eternal winter and possibly a reason they never bothered crossing the Irish Sea.

au contraire BB....there has been recently a mass grave excavated north od dublin containing the remains of roman centurions....serious.....i'll post the link when i find it ,or mr google will tell you...

    Freud for #1

Mr O'Higgins rings a bell for Latin America, can't remember where... so a wild guess: Bolivia

I apparently have family in Argentina since my mom recalls a letter to her father, from his uncle, that told how sad he was living in Argentina away from the ould country without any family. His name wasn't O'Higgins though, I would guess the letter to be around WW1 era vintage give or take, maybe earlier.

(Been to BA on business, highly recommend to any who haven't visited, very European & cheap, good steaks, beautiful women & a flourishing tg scene also.)

Which Irishman famously said this at a Concert?

'Is there anybody here with any Irish in them? Is there any of the girls who’d like a little more Irish in them?'

Bernardo o higgins was Chile....i beieve Irish/Spanish ancestry....

I think the pop star was Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy fame......drank and drugged himself to death.....like any true pop star!....Whatcha think mr duke...was he an Irishman or a Mancunian...?or both?

  3. i dont know how much this can be believed ,maybe a much larger number of men need to be measured.....some interesting anomalies eg,In the green zone, the only european country to feature is Hungary.....and Lebanon appear in the green area with 6.6 inches whilst their next door neighbour Iraq are in the red zone at 4.5 inches.....such a discrepancy for the same ethnic people is hard to believe(i very nearly put "hard to swallow"]

  4. Lots of interesting comments regarding prayer, beleief systems, parallel universes......just a thought, seeing as we're(mankind that is) about to land on Mars in the next 20years,should we ban all Religion from going there...Wouldn't allowing only atheists make much more sense?

  5. the Baltimore Ravens

well done mr pdogg, actually named after TheRaven,a poem by edgar allen poe,a favourite son of Baltimore.....

Ok a soccer question, well more than one actually......which spanish team are nicknamed the "yellow submarine".......which italian team nicknamed " the flying donkeys"........and which scottish team are the only football team mentioned in The Bible?

  6. A clue is, rogue trader.  Go on Williethepimp i know you can take an educated guess at it now. :winking0023:

hahah...yes, a certain mr nick leeson who singlehandedly bankrupted barings bank.....he was also one of manchester city's celebrity fans.....proving his footballing knowledge was as flawed as his knowledge of investment...5555...Now the financial consultant to Galway City fc apparently.....
