The last time this made the news here at home, the savings in health costs were estimated to outweigh the loss of the tobacco tax raised. But it will take years for the savings to be realised... first they have to pay for the smokers health problems. In other words, they have to die before the health budget fully reflects the savings.

Just look at prohibition in the US in the 20's. It didn't work and the sale of alcohol just went under ground with bootleggers and speak easy's taking over the supply and sale.

I live along the border in Ireland which is rife with smugglers buying counterfeit cigarettes in places like the Philippines and shipping them into Ireland where the tax on them is among the highest in the world. 100,000us for a 40ft container full of cigarettes has a street value of 1,000,000us, and the punishment handed out by the courts for smuggling cigarettes is so lenient its not even a deterrent to the smugglers.

If a country was to ban cigarettes outright, they would want to back it up with other changes to the laws on smuggling with harsher sentences. I could never see it happen, even though I would like to see it because I caught my 15 year old niece smoking recently which was very disappointing, and the benefits to a country as a whole, in about 20 years time would be brilliant but in those 20 years, the burden of smokers on the health system would still be a strain.

The only "drug taking device" that I think you could make from that would be a bong.

I doubt it was the pot that killed him.

A bong just runs the smoke through water to take the burn or sting out of the smoke so it can be used to do the same with harder drugs.

Also pot could kill if he had any underlying cardiac problems as it can give you low blood pressure which can be just as bad as high blood pressure.

Any chance the powers that be adding a log in to reply option on the site.

Usually on forums you would have an option or button to click at the bottom of the thread to log in if you want to reply on that specific thread. Here it just has a thing saying log in to reply and when you log in at the top, you end up back at the index page and have to go back to the thread to reply.

Also when logging in I enter in my username and password, and then 9 times out of 10 I always hit the sign up button. Thats more my stupidity than the forum though

I wouldn't be into doing the lottery. All your buying is a fantasy for a few minutes until you start thinking realistically. But every once in a while I would buy a ticket for one of the bigger ones when there is a roll over. I recently done the Euromillions when it was about 180million.

I would just give a million a piece to each of my family members, then give about 100million away to a number of different HIV related charities that can prove to me that the money will go to a good cause, and not some corrupt African government. Then with the 60 odd million left I would give half of that to an Irish based charity like St Vincent De Paul, and then with whatever is left buy a nice house in an area with decent broadband coverage and holiday 3 or 4 times a year.

Last trip I was a B guy hitting alot of different ladyboy venues in one night, but next trip I will mostly likely be an A by just having a regular venue to spend time in. Most likely LaBamba and Linda Bar.

QI is a good show. I remember an episode that spoke about sperm while talking about Brazil nuts. If you eat Brazil nuts, traces of it will remain in your sperm and if someone takes a load of your sperm and they have a nut allergy they better get to the nearest hospital. Brazil nuts are also radioactive according to QI.

If you have the option to buy it from a Irish company whether it be Powercity or a online company, unlocked, I would go for it.

If you unlock it with one of the many sim unlock apps, it can lock up again with a firmware update from Samsung. You also need to have the rom rooted and busybox installed for the unlock apps to work.

Only way to unlock it permanently is to get the unlock code. You can get them for free for blackberrys but I have never seen a site doing them for free for the Galaxy S3. Once you have the code, unlocking the phone yourself is as easy as dialling a number. A firmware update wont effect this unlock.

Best bet looks to be Powercity as at least they have a bricks and mortar store to go into if you have any problems.

Quite a few people I know switched from the Iphone 4S to the Galaxy S3 and they swear by the S3.

Hi guys, first post on ladyboyreview.

While waiting to register I noticed a glitch that allows an unregistered visitor to this forum view all pics posted by people in their trip reports and posts.

While logged out, if you go to a users profile, lets say Fogmaster for example, all you have to do is go to find content, show posts only, and bobs your uncle, all the pics from his trip report. Some of them also show up in google images search.
