  1. As most of us know, The Traveling Wilburys consisted of Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, George Harrison, and Jeff Lynne.

They each also had a Wilbury name. They were Nelson Wilbury, Lucky Wilbury, Lefty Wilbury, Charlie T. Wilbury Jr, and Otis Wilbury.

Match each of the band members with their Wilbury name.

  2. The western hemisphere begins at the Prime Meridian (the line of longitude which extends from the North Pole to the South Pole, running through Greenwich, London) and extends 180 degrees west from there: it encompasses parts of western Europe, some of western Africa, the Americas, some Pacific island groups, and the part of Russia that Sarah Palin apparently can see when she looks out her window. Ahem.

So, we can rule out all of that as the answer to Lefty's poser, as he specifically said NOT in the western hemisphere.

I'd go for somewhere on the Black Sea coast.  Bulgaria?

    Close but no cigar

  3. This was the Japanese empire at the height of their power, early in 1944

Notice how Thailand was not conquered by those A-holes but all their neighbors were.

The Japs were allies with Thailand who were under the rule of the dictator  Phibun. Free access to come and go as need be. Had there been a need, Japan could have conquered them in an afternoon.

  4. He was pretty good in a small role as Jennifer Lopez' boyfriend in Out of Sight.

Never saw BeetleJuice or his Batman nonsense, but he played a really good role in Clean and Sober from 1988.

Very believable as a drug addict/drunk spiraling out of control.

Keaton played the same character in Jackie Brown. Both movies based on Elmore Leonard novels.

  5. Yeah, I mentioned that it may be a good time for Kahuna to get NetFlix.

I don't know what they have for programming but I'm quite sure it's worth the 10 bucks a month. Hell, if they have The Newsroom and all seasons of Breaking Bad that would be worth it right there.

They do have Breaking Bad, and it is only $7.99 a month. So one would be saving $2 right off the bat. :)
