  1. I was staying at the I-Ris hotel for a while last week, a decent place for only 800 baht per night and nice and clean and new, etc.....but 90% of its clientele is Arab {I guess I should have concluded that upon check-in, with the clocks in the lobby all set to Arab capitols and Mecca} and they make extremely loud noises at all hours of day and night, in the hallways and in the lobby, always yelling and not even trying to have the slightest modicum of civility.

I have the same experience on my last trip (jan/feb 2012).

I thought it a good deal new hotel etc etc.

All day all night noise. Almost had a fight about the noise.

So i left I-Ris after a few day's and went back to my favorit area LK Metro/soi Buakaow.

  2. Wow! I don't think I've ever done that! :clapping:

I checked her profile and it says she likes 'cum diving'!!! What the hell is cum diving?

Her profile also says she like groups twice! She must really like that one! Haha!

I like the bar scene too, but I do try out website dating from time to time. I have gotten a few girls from them, some p4p, some not. But it's so easy and fun to hit the bars...

    You mean this Jenny??

I've been walking out of her room she was to drunk to do anything

    For me a waist...it can happen 55555

    Cheers,

  3. I managed to book "ROOM 2" at the CHOW SOY on Soi Chayaipoon for November, I dont only think its a bargain at 700 per night in "High Season" but also the restaurant downstairs is the "Dogs Bollocks" :yahoo:

"The rooms have King Size Bed, A/C, Hot Shower, Cable TV, DVD Player, Kettle,(All Rooms Now Have 42" Plasma T.V.), Large Fridge, Digital Safe in room, Very nice bathroom & and is very nicely done out with Sofa. The rooms have Free WI-FI Internet. The location is very convenient for most places in town.

***Please Note The Very Large Room (Room 2) Has A Pentium 4 PC With WiFi ***" :thumbsu:

Dave you talking about this room??

I must tell you its a nice big playroom with bacony very good choice.

  4. It is in the Bophut area, about 5 minutes from Fisherman's village. If you are familiar with that area, about 200 yards before you come to the traffic lights to turn down to Fishermans village, there is a soi on the right hand side of the road called "soi sundae". My house is just up there in a complex of about 40 bungalows.

    Cheers.

  5. Throwing this one out to the expats living full time in Thailand, particularly those who still have their finger on the pulse of the business community. Any advice given will be rewarded with beer. :drinks:

I am trying to sell my house in Samui, and despite several Google searches and various rummages around several websites, I am still unclear to the ins and outs. In particular

What are the general agent fees/commissions for undertaking the advertising and sale of the property. I know these may vary, but does anybody know an average rate?

What taxes will I have to pay? My solicitor has given me some advice, but it seems to contradict what is said on the various websites. For example, I have been told if I have a foreign exchange certificate, all money will be repatriated without tax liability, but otherwise I will have to prove nil taxable profit from my company accounts????

SBT (Special Business Tax) I was under the impression this was due to be paid by the seller on slaes transactions, however on going though my initial accounts, it appears I paid this as a buyer when I purchased the house!!

Any other unforeseen taxes or fees I should prepare myself for on successful sale of the property.

p.s the property is a house, not a condo, which I believe has slightly different legislation than selling a condo. I bought the house in 2008, and don't expect to make any, or certainly very little profit from the sale in terms of Thai Baht, so if there is a profit tax I would expect this to be negligable.

As I say guys, any help will be appreciated, and will result in beers bought.

Hugs and kisses, love you lots,

    Ciobha

    Hi Ciobha,

May i ask which area is your house?

  6. Here in Pattaya you can hear the low spark of high heeled boys!

OK, not every day is going to be less than 1000 baht, living here, you may not want to go out every night, and if you spend less than 1000 in a day, those baht can be applied to a future day.

Other than the rent the only other thing you have to spend money on everyday is food. But there are lots of delicious street stalls where u can sit down and have let's say a delicious plate of chicken and rice for around 30 baht. So on a day, where you just laze by the pool, read a book, watch the telly, surf the net and eat cheap you will have spent 400 on rent plus 100 on food coming in at just 500 baht for that day.

    Great thread PB...very interesting
