Looks like he is in the village of Ban Tai on Koh Phangan.  Ban Tai is not the best location for a guy who gets around on foot.  No Bolt on the island.  He needs to either rent a bike or move to an area on the island where you don't need a bike.  Ban Tai's beach is not swimmable especially at this time of the year. You have to walk out a few football fields to get to waist deep water.  Ban Tai, pre Covid,  had the Black Moon Party, which isn't bad, but an old mofo won't really fit in there.

In general, Koh Phangan is not a great place for mongers.  Many of the P4P bars are on the main road a bit further north from where he is, and the girls stand by the roadside trying to get the attention of customers. You pretty much need a bike to go bar hopping in that area.  There is always Had Rin, where the Full Moon Party is held, which is pedestrian friendly, but not really the best place for mongers.

Good place to relax with a girlfriend or at least it used to be.

I tried it out and Isaan for half a year+ each time, but always found myself coming back to Patts even with the girlfriend. Just that feeling of being close to everything without the commute and high prices of bangkok.

Also lived near Mabprachan lake which was a lot more isolated but if you don't mind a 10 km bike ride to and from patts everytime.. its reasonably close. Same can be said of Na Jomtien or Naklua.
