Well PD, the check in guy at Manc Airport wouldn't let me on the Loganair Flight as I didn't have an 'entry' form for the Isle of Man, whatever that is

Or maybe it was because I voted for BREXIT :db:

Dai Dilemma strikes again

Fuck, what a bummer.  Are you on the hook for plane fare and your hotel room?

Sucks the moose when holidays get swept away from you.  Perhaps a few pints of Camden Town will ease the pain.

Never sucked a Moose tbh, not too sure I would want to either

Using the famous British "stiff upper lip' and laughing about it now with a few good mates in the bar, all is good :drinks:

I don't think Brits are going to be welcomed back soon. We have one of the highest rates of infections in the world.

Thank you anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers, covid deniers and Boris.

you're welcome QG. but, you forgot dodgy statistics...

and thank you to all the lockdown 'i'm all right jack' crew from all the people here having to queue in the rain for a meal once a week

The stats are in the link bbg.

It is Governments across the world who are implementing lockdowns to protect their populations.

Here it is hospital doctors who are saying that new covid admissions are mainly partly vaccinated or non vaccinated people.

Thankfully I wore/still wear masks where appropriate , have had my two AZ jabs and applaud the NHS and its workers on a sterling job.

However, I am a Brexiteer and have no qualm whatsoever about being so, surely they will still welcome me back, won't they?

so, between july 14th and sept 2nd 203 patients admitted? yes? hardly a major world ending total there.  But as ever QG, you forget to mention how many recovered and were sent home well.

of course covid is having an impact on people with serious diseases. so would flu, so would practically anything. that is what flu virus's do, thin out the herd.

what pisses me off is that many people are treating covid as viagra...it's giving them a hard on talking about it. [and although i'm answering you, i'm not referring to you particularly]

so while we are here talking about figures what happened to the 600,000 or whatever in Peru that you posted some time back. recovered? dead? magically vanished? living on the dark side of the moon?

people only like bad news.

the only decently reported figures i have seen are the ones posted by Woodie some time ago, somewhere on here.. i note they were hardly commented on, because i guess that they weren't disastrous enough.

People only want to look on the dark side... i'm referring here to someone's recent comment that us in Thailand would soon know someone who has died from Covid. I'm still waiting.  i'm still waiting to know of anyone who has even had covid, sure, i know 2 LBs who coughed for 2 days and proudly announced that they had the virus...  3 days later they were playing on the beach and still are. Okay i do personally know 2 people in England who had covid. One a severely asthmatic nephew who recovered, and one my stepmother who died. Mind you she was 102. Fact is QG, if my nephew had died in a car crash within 6 months of testing positive he would have been a covid statistic. BULLSHIT figures!

People need to understand that the price of life is death and to live while they can, not run and hide in their rooms. That isn't living. Neither is watching your children go hungry.

Yes, i know that governments are trying to protect populations, on the advice of doctors, scientists etc...  perhaps governments should lock such people in rooms along with their kids and starve them. See what the advice would be then.

The lockdown mob are ruining this world QG, but no-one cares too much, it's the health and Safety madness that has been growing for years reaching it's peak.

Well done for the anti-covid measures, and support for the NHS. I am the same.

But I don't think that being a Brexiteer (or anti-Brexit like me) is going to help us return to los.

bbg, we are never going to agree on this, so will just have to agree to differ. You might not personally know anyone who has died of covid, neither do I, but there is enough evidence out there to know that people are dying. You can choose to not believe that. I haven't actually seen Australia but I believe it exists.

But you believe anything you read without thinking about it!

of course people are dying! people died of HK A2 '68, Sars, Bird flu. etc etc etc etc.  so why the hard-on about Covid? it's all natural. It's the reporting of figures that isn't. Okay it is a nasty virus, i don't doubt it.

there is just too much bullshit, fear of it, compounded by doctors and scientists getting their media money which is ruining lives far more than covid is.

just save the money not being spent on viagra and get that laptop will you!

The government has been doing a good, steady job here.  No rush to open things up, which understandably pissed off some businesses, but it is paying off now.  Hopefully there will be no more lockdowns or reintroduction of any restrictions, but who knows with the way things have been these past 18 months.  Haven’t checked any flights yet, but it’s comforting to know there are options out there again.
