A Russian man was found hanged in a room in Jomtien just after midnight early this morning, according to the Pattaya City Police. He was reportedly due to fly out of Thailand today and return home.

Major Palakorn Trachunit of The Pattaya City Police was notified of the incident at 12:30 AM at a room on the third floor of a shophouse with rental rooms in Jomtien.

Police, rescue workers and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the body of a Russian man, 45 years old. His name was withheld pending notification of family and his Embassy, per Pattaya News policy.

He was found hanged from a doorknob. No sign of struggle or bruises were found on his body by Pattaya Police and the room was otherwise undisturbed.

Ms. Rattanadawan Thammanan, 44, reported to be the landlord of the shophouse, told The Pattaya News that the Russian man was scheduled to return to his hometown in the morning. He had been in Thailand during the current visa amnesty period, according to her, but his passport visa was reportedly expired for some time.

He did not know what to do, she said, and did not want to return to his country. He asked her for any help but ultimately decided to choose death by suicide.

Pattaya police are continuing their investigation and will notify the Russian embassy and his family.

About 100 kilos of cannabis were seized at Jamjuree Restaurant (across from the Hideaway) on Soi 15 off Soi Buakaho. Mr Mac, Boy, and Kid were arrested. Their customers were mostly foreign tourists so the police had a foreign spy lure Mr Mac so he could be busted.

Hi and welcome. It's different for me as I live in Thailand, but up north. I'm just back from 6 nights in Pattaya, and I did enjoy the time there. Not as it was, of course, but still very enjoyable. Best of luck with your travel plans, whenever you make it here.

Very unlikely that we will be able to return this year. I'm still hoping I will be able to return in January, but I think it might not be until maybe mid or late 2021, or even 2022.

The Tahitian Queen (TQ) has had to finally shut down.

The TQ was PH3’s longest running “Happy Hour Bar.”

It was first open on the 2nd.March 1987.

Owned by Woody and Bob, but run by RA. “Emperor Airhead”.

I did the Christmas Styrofoam snow thing there once as well as at TQ2. It was fun once or twice.

How much you can give? I knew it, johns from Sweden sending baht. Fu**ing mugs.

Foreign sponsors or back to Isan only options for many Pattaya bargirls

https://www.pattayamail.com/news/foreign-sponsors-or-back-to-isan-only-options-for-many-pattaya-bargirls-340169

With no real prospects, many of Pattaya’s bargirls say they have basically two choices during the city’s coronavirus shutdown: Depend on foreign men to bail them out or go back upcountry and let their parents take care of them.

“Warunee” said she used to make her money spending time in hotels with foreign men and dancing around chrome poles. But now that bars are closed, she has no way to make money.

She said her “boyfriend” in Germany sends some money, but she wants to go back to work and meet other guys.

Her bargirl friends are doing likewise, pleading with johns from the U.K., Australia, Sweden and other places to support them. Some are now sharing their tales on live video streams and enticing lonely men in the west to pay for “virtual’ drinks, of which they get a small cut of the bar’s take.

Warunee said girls without a man to take care of them usually decide to go back to Issan and live with the family.

Bargirls have a storied reputation for laziness, but a small number of industrious bar workers have broken the mold, choosing to stand on their own two feet by selling second-hand goods at markets, selling vegetables or getting into the cook-to-order food business.

An intoxicated Thai woman and a Korean man have escaped serious injury after their vehicle crashed into a parked car near Jomtien beach this morning.

The Pattaya City Police was notified of the accident in front of a condominium near Jomtien beach just after midnight (January 23rd) .

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find an overturned red sedan on the road.

The heavily intoxicated driver, Ms. Nuchthida Kraisri, 28, from Chanthaburi, was not injured. Her Korean passenger had sustained head injuries but was reportedly laughing and in good spirits. He was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Nearby, Pattaya Police found a damaged black car whose transgender driver, Priwan Oadherng, 37, was waiting for law enforcement at the scene.
