Roadhouse Bar (aka Sally's):  Was chatting to Som there this evening and she mentioned that there are 8 LBs working there now, and that she has been told to recruit 10 more to add to the 8.  They want to get the bar back to how it was a few years ago,  Should be a good option for a night out if she can pull it off so to speak.

Was there for Som's Birthday the other week - Excellent, The new gaffers are a great couple also. Come on down. !

I agree , a group of about 8 of us spent a good few hours there a few weeks back and the owner sent us over a round of drinks on the house .

Not often you get that in Thailand or anywhere else for that matter .

Thanks for explaining JS. I didn't have to get my English decoder ring out to figure out the definition of gaffer.

Late on Wednesday Night a 29 year old Thai Woman reported an assault by two Male Russian Tourists on Walking Street, South Pattaya, in the early hours of Wednesday.

Khun Orapan, who had a black-eye, and upper-body bruising, explained to Police at the Station on Pattaya Beach, that she was walking home after attending a friend’s Birthday party on Walking Street and stopped to purchase food at the Northern entrance to the street.

She claims a group of two Russian men and a Russian Woman walked past her and one of the men grabbed her backside. She screamed and out of anger kicked the Russian. Both Russian men allegedly grabbed Khun Orapan and struck her several times as the female Russian looked-on and laughed.

Khun Orapan shouted for help but no one who witnessed the alleged attack assisted her.

After visiting the Hospital on Wednesday, she reported the incident to Pattaya Police who will check CCTV and attempt to apprehend those responsible for the reported attack.

A 41 year old Irish National sustained serious injuries to both of his legs in the early hours of Saturday after he was struck and then run over by a Coach carrying foreign tourists as he attempted to cross the road and enter Walking Street in South Pattaya.

Tourist Police and medics rushed to the scene and assisted Mr. Eugene Lyons who was lying face-down on the street and was unable to move due to serious injuries to both of his legs.

He had been struck by the left-side of the coach, driven by Khun Anuson aged 60, as he negotiated a left-hand turn towards the South Pattaya Road in front the Northern entrance to Walking Street. Mr. Lyons fell onto the road and was then run over by the left-side wheels of the coach.

The coach driver was detained by Police pending further investigations and claimed that illegally parked Baht Buses were to blame as he was forced to take his eyes off the road as he negotiated the left-turn and was watching his mirrors to ensure he did not hit any of the parked Baht Buses.

Khun Anuson was taken to Pattaya Police Station and Mr. Lyons was taking to Hospital where the serious injuries sustained to his legs continue to be assessed by medics at time of publication.

PATTAYA – December 17 [PDN]; at 2.00 a.m. Mr. Bernard John Griffiths, aged 65,a New Zealander,, went to notify Pol. Capt. Phitak Nernsaeng (Investigation officer of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi province) that on the 15th of December 2013 at 9.00 p.m. he was drugged by the Pattaya ladayboy that he met in Walking Street and had property totalling more than 300,000 THB which consisted of 1 VISA card, 1 diamond ring with a value of 8,000 dollars, 1 gold necklace with a value of 3,000 dollars and about 10,200 THB.

Mr. Bernard John Griffiths (the victim) said that he was walking down Walking Street then he met a lady boy that persuaded him to drink liquor at a bar which he claimed that it was his own bar so he went to the bar with him but he could not remember the bar’s name. He drank 1 bottle of beer and when he went to pay his bill he realised he didn’t have any cash so he went to the ATM machine and the lady boy went with him but due to there only being instructions in Thai language the lady boy assisted him in withdrawing money as he told the lady boy his password. The lady boy then withdrew 10,000 THB to pay the bar bill.

Later the lady boy took him to lucifer bar and they drank 1 bottle of beer and ordered 1 more bottle which at that time he noticed that the lady boy had picked up the beer bottle to shake so he asked him what he was doing then he replied that “Nothing at all, I’m cleaning it for you” and after he drank the beer he then passed out (got unconscious) for approximately 15 minutes in lucifer bar and when he woke up he found that the lady boy had disappeared. He then checked his belongings and realised that he had been robbed by the lady boy. He told police that he thinks he was drugged with a hypnotic drug which the lady boy had placed in his drink. He then went to notify the police to arrest the lady boy.

The Famous Bar Facebook page says its up for sale and Lita is apparently going to open up another bar in a different location in the new year, we'll have to see what happens

Its a shame about the Famous Bar because I love the set up of the bar there (its just perfect and has everything imho)  but I suppose the location is probaly not the best for trade, so good luck with the new venue Lita wherever it may be Clap.gif

Passed by the Next Station bar this afternoon on Soi LK Metro and it is gutted.  Still the same sign above just now.

Was open just the other day when I was watching football at Irish Rovers.

Guess that real estate is just too valuable for a small beer bar.

Suppose the 15th agogo will be opening on Soi LK Metro!

A British man committed suicide because he didn't have enough money to take care of his Thai girlfriend. He set fire to charcoals in his bathroom and died from the fumes.

The officers assumed that he had been dead for approximately 24 hours.

On the dressing table, the officers found a letter that was wrote to apologize to Ms. Thawan Naonok, aged 41, a Surin woman that he didn’t have money to take care of her. A few of us ended up in Jomtien last night where we bumped into  LurSaluces doing his rounds.  He mentioned a seafood restaurant at the end of Beach rd, Jomtien where about 30 LBs work.  Hopefully he can fill us in on more details.

Poo Pen restaurant, at the south end of Jomtien beach Road has about 30 LB's on staff. Many are young and highy passable. I was served by this cutie below. There is a giant crab before the restaurant. So hard to miss that.

Bali Hai is all ready for the big night but perhaps a bit too hectic for people who hate crowds.  The traffic is pretty crazy already coming over from Jomtien and it's only going to get worse as the night progresses.

I used to think for a long time that the Thais had a special name for New Years Eve "Kow dow" until one year in Hua Hin the penny dropped when the Thai i was with pointed to the big countdown poster and said "Nice kow dow photo."
