A foreign man believed to be intoxicated reportedly assaulted a female kebab shop owner in Pattaya. The victim said her attacker refused to pay for the food he had ordered.

Police rushed to halt a fight that broke up in the middle of Pattaya near the opposite of the Flipper House Hotel early this morning, March 24th. At 2 AM, the officers confronted a foreign man whom they described as being heavily intoxicated and frustrated.

The man, identified only as Martin with Danish nationality, had his shirt ripped off by a female kebab shop owner, Ms. Thanita Panwai. The 44-year-old woman told police she had to pull his shirt to prevent him from running away after he had thrown a bottle of ketchup at her and hit her in the face.

Thanita suffered facial swellings. She claimed Martin suddenly attacked her when she asked him to pay for the three kebabs that he had ordered. The food cost only 210 baht, and the foreigner reportedly became enraged at the price and smacked the victim in the face according to her.

Moreover, while police were investigating the incident, the Danish man snuck in another attack at the woman directly in front of law enforcement officers, having pulled her by the hair and smashed her head into a pole. Martin was immediately arrested and later put in jail for his brazen behavior.

Police said they planned to detain the man until he sobered up. The officers also instructed Thanita to visit a hospital to have her body checked and obtain documents in order to file legal charges against the man.

As for the suspect, he refused to speak to the media and was described as uncooperative by police.

Hmm, let's see.  Sickly pale white skin, obese, bald, heavily tattooed, wife-beater t-shirt, rumpled shorts, and reportedly drunk.  Although his face is blurred in the photos it's probably a safe bet that he's butt ugly and has bad teeth.  Yep, Martin is the poster child for Pattaya's finest farang tourist alright!

A naked British man on a rampage attacked an Australian tourist with a beer bottle in the Tahitian Queen Agogo until his face was covered in blood yesterday in Pattaya.

At 10.30pm, officers at Pattaya City Police Station were informed that a foreigner was assaulted and injured at the Tahitian Queen Agogo bar on Pattaya Beach Road in Nong Prue subdistrict in Bang Lamung district. Police rushed to the scene to investigate with rescue workers from Pattaya’s Sawang Boriboon Thammasatham Foundation.

At the scene, a crowd of onlookers huddled around 77 year old Josef Slezak of Australian nationality, who had a bust left eyebrow and a face full of blood after being hit with a glass bottle by the naked Englishman. Rescue workers provided first aid before transporting him to the hospital for treatment.

Police detained the perpetrator, a stark naked British man, and took him to the police station for interrogation.

Thanks Pdoggg.  Always interesting in getting news that most aren't privy.  Yeah back in the day Marijuana was straight forward, and for the most part pretty harmless.   But it's changed.  It is different and the adverse affects are more serious and it is being hidden.  It is unfortunate.

Police have stated that despite the claims of this Italian man who caused a scene in front of hundreds of tourists earlier this week throwing items off his balcony that it was from smoking marijuana only, he tested positive for methamphetamine, also known as Ice.

Thanks for the update Mabulox.  It's not surprising.

Murder on Soi Buakhao....the missus knows someone who lived in that building but being spooked by the murder just moved out.

A young woman was found dead at an apartment in Pattaya and Pattaya police suspect she was murdered.
The Pattaya City Police were notified of the incident on Saturday (May 20th) in the morning at an apartment in Central Pattaya. Police arrived at the room to find the body of a Thai woman, Ms. Rattana Thamrak, 32.

Rattana was found face down covered in dried blood. About ten knife wounds were found on her body and blood traces were found on the floor in the room.

Police believed that she died at least four days before her body was found. Inside the room law enforcement found broken glass and signs of a physical altercation and struggle.

Ms. Suwapet, 61, a maid who works at the apartment complex, told police that a bad smell was emanating from the room. She knocked on the door but there was no answer and she was concerned as she had not seen the tenant in several days. She told the apartment owner and called the police before they used a key to open the room and found the horrific scene inside.

Mrs. Big (a pseudonym), 23, a neighbor of the victim, told Pattaya police that she was talking with Ms. Rattana all day on May 14th. Ms. Rattana normally had many men who contacted and visited her at her room, according to Mrs. Big. She was a former staffer at a bar in Soi Bua Khao but she was currently unemployed. The name of her former bar was not given to the press by Mrs. Big.

The Pattaya City Police Chief Colonel Thanapong Poethi told the Pattaya News that after reviewing CCTV at the apartment complex police have identified three male suspects and police are continuing their investigation.

Thanks PG.  Very horrific for the woman.  The brutality of human kind is endless.  Sounds like they got some clues, I surely hope so.  I have read through several forums how safe TH is.  The truth is, it isn't.  Not saying some american cities are safer, I can think of many that aren't.    I'm just say TH is not the first country that comes to mind when I think safety.

Good that you say that as we read about a new mass shootings involving assault weapons basically every day now.  I've been all over the  world and believe Thailand is one of the safest places on earth.

I haven't been all over the world.  But I stay up on event.  I have even posted the ratio higher in TH then USA.  Of course it was time dated and things change.  I totally agree with the mass shooting thing.  It has become a fade with losers.  It is very very sad.  But to blame the car for a vehicular homicide when the drive was very drunk, isn't going to solve the issue.  I have some opinions on this.  it is amazing how stupid these people that are in charge for protecting the schools.  How many times did they fail to keep the doors lock as required?  One principle ( this was very close to me) after knowing the kid had a gun and made threats, let the kid go back to class.  The kid hide a pistol in the bath room and instead of removing the kid from the school immediately, he sent the kid back to class.  So the kid got the gun and started shooting.  When you study these things you find the obvious is ignored and the people in charge are incompetent.  Many of these horrific tragedies, could easy be prevented.  How many times does a kid have to tell the world what he is going to and the world doesn't intervene.  The other thing is why don't schools have metal detectors at entrance.  I know inner city schools have them.  The money spent per student is higher then any other public schools system.  Yet, we don't do what it takes to assure greater safety.  Couple that with school standards dropping lower and lower.  The other high value soft targets are malls.  In TH they have armed guards at all malls, checking everything coming in.  If TH can afford it, why can't USA.  The truth is we will argue back and forth for the next 100 years and get nothing done.  Just like abortion.  These are all wedge issues to divide people, but no common sense solutions implemented.

These so called assault weapons, is a word to get attention, especially with the ignoring public.  Also, have you seen these kids now adays.  They are all about themselves and are not well grounded.  If you want some facts, since 1940:s there have been school shootings.  It has progressively got worse.  In my day, when you had an issue you met after school and worked it out.  Now you go home and get a gun and start kill people.  You don't really see the blacks behaving like this ( not to say they don't have a list of bad behaviors).  This is mainly a white thing, with the most punk of kids.

Bottom line, if you point the finger to one thing, your not going to stop this.

You can't compare a mass shooting to the murder of an Australian prostitute in Pattaya. While she had chosen prostitution, it's likely that she had been involved with pimps or a small criminal network. The last time I read about an Australian prostitute in Thailand was in a post in PY by an Aussie ( LWFM) who described how his sister would seduce foreign tourists and then rob them while they were in the shower. It appears that this kind of  individual had chosen a criminal path and was likely involved in illegal activities. It's not really a safe way for those who want to live old.

A serial transgender person was arrested by police once again for snatching gold necklaces from foreign tourists near Pattaya Beach.

Pattaya Police nabbed a transgender gold snatcher named Boonyawin or “Frame”, under an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court early this morning, June 1st. Boonyawin was brought into custody for allegedly snatching gold necklaces from Indian tourists on May 13th near Pattaya Beach.

According to Pattaya Police, Boonyawin was a transgender person who had previously been prosecuted for pickpocketing foreign tourists on Pattaya Beach. After being released, she returned to commit the same crime, leading the court to issue a warrant for her second arrest.  Boonyawin remained in police custody as of press time.

The Thai Cabinet has approved a proposal to allow nightlife venues in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area to operate 24 hours a day to meet the growing needs of tourists.

This includes the popular tourist city of Pattaya with thousands of entertainment venues.

However, before you get too excited, the regulation is not yet official and needs approval from regional and local leaders along with guidelines and regulations for the change. No timeline for this has been set.

The Ministry of the Interior is currently in the process of drafting a royal decree to allow the 24-hour operation of the entertainment venues within the EEC area. No exact completion date of the decree has been given yet.

As for Pattaya, local officials will need to discuss the legislation first before making a decision in terms of which areas it will apply to and what rules and regulations will apply. No set date for when this is expected to happen has been given so excited bar owners are being told to wait for more information and city communication for now and to adhere to current legal closing times in the interim. Some early proposals suggest the change may only be to certain zones, such as Walking Street, and not the whole city, but this remains to be seen.

Local MPs for Banglamung and Pattaya have been strong supporters of making Pattaya a 24 hour city like Vegas.

Early this morning, nearly 20 Thai transgender individuals physically assaulted Saudi Arabian and Palestinian tourists at the Pattaya beachfront. The incident occurred after one of the tourists questioned one of the transgender people about their gender during an alleged escort service negotiation. The “misgendering” offended the transgender group who then attacked the tourists.

On August 2nd, at 3:30 AM, tourist police officers from the Pattaya police station received a report of an assault involving a group of transgender individuals and three Saudi Arabian and Palestinian tourists (two men and one woman).

Upon their arrival at the station, the police also encountered a lot of transgender individuals waiting at the station, making loud noises and shouting at police. Seemingly in connection with the incident, the police officers requested the unrelated individuals to wait outside the station, while interviewing two injured individuals, both transgender.

Identified as Thiraphat Paladchai, 23, and Narisara Ratchabutsri, 20, the two sustained injuries including swollen and bruised lips with bleeding and minor scratches on their arms. After the questioning with police, they claimed to The Pattaya News that they were paid companions working by the beach.

Narisara alleged that one of the involved tourists approached them, so they offered the tourist companionship services, inviting him to a nearby hotel. However, the tourist’s friend suddenly interrupted them and asked about Narisara’s gender, calling Narisara a man and allegedly asked if Narisara was homosexual. This angered Narisara and led to an exchange of words that swiftly escalated into a physical confrontation. Narisara then called upon their fellow transgender friends standing nearby for help, resulting in the chaotic assault as an estimated twenty transgender individuals began attacking the tourists.

Subsequently, The Pattaya News went to the beach where the incident took place and asked a local resident and eyewitness named Mr. Jakree Sriarun, 34, about the incident. He said that a group of over 20 transgender individuals attacked the foreign victims and claimed the transgender group were the aggressive party. Feeling compassion, many Thais, foreigners, and he intervened and tried to stop the assault.

Jakree noted that these transgender individuals are known to work by Pattaya Beach and often engage in disputes and altercations with foreign tourists. Upon his intervention, the transgender group also verbally abused him. He urged the Pattaya police to take serious action against them, as they were harming Pattaya’s reputation.

It is unclear to what extent the foreign tourists were harmed, but according to the police, three of them were transferred to Pattaya Hospital for medical checks. The tourists and the involved transgender people will later be summoned to the station for another questioning and legal proceedings and possible fines.

is this the entrance at old Hemingways where the quiz was? What's with the Russian sign?

Yes, it's Hemingways.  The smaller sign says Thai Food, European Food, and what Splaten says is Russian Cuisine.  Guess they want to encourage all residents of Jomtiengrad though it's not the type of joint that will attract Chinese.

Forgot to say at that same point in the video he reads a sign that says View Talay Jomtien Condo which is near the driveway of View Talay 7 but then shows a tall adjacent building which is Jomtien Complex Condo.  Just want to make clear that the condo he shows is not VT7 but a much older and less desirable building.

Right. Where I used to park the bike.

No ruskkie signs are tolerated over here in the west. I find it quite offensive, and Thailands stance towards Russia is well known.
