"So glad I haven't got a trip coming up with all this crap going on."

I've decided to postpone my trip until at least February / March '22. Currently struggling to get a refund from my airline... A chatbot has just confirmed my refund request... Let's see what happens...

Bali Hai restaurant I think:

Chonburi Public Health asks for cooperation from restaurant operators that sell alcoholic beverages during New Year. They ask all customers to be screened with an ATK antigen test kit in addition to inspecting employees.

Currently, the number of infected people tends to increase, especially in Bang Lamung district.

Requesting all shops to cooperate and strictly follow:

If it is a "request" then no venue comply.

Is a waitress going to shove a swab up my nose?  Or ass?   :movethatass:

The Big O is spreading.  A popular gym in my neighborhood is closing for 4 days to disinfect because of some cases associated with the gym.    :gym:

And to think, just two years ago you would wonder why these girls are wearing masks and why are they showing their pregnancy tests.  My, how things have changed.

Here's to 2022 being a Happy New Year!

That was just one year ago...

And it feels like an eternity...

Hopefully, in one year from now, December 31st, 2022, we'll look back and wonder why these pictures were taken...

@soiboy: & everybody else: A very happy New Year 2022!!!

Today, Chon Buri has become the province with the highest infection rate in Thailand.

The Pattaya mayor today said that establishments ("bar-restaurants") that do comply with disease control measures (covid tests, no dancing, 11 pm booze ban...) can continue to operate as usual despite the currently high infection numbers. Those places that do not comply must be shutdown however...

The Director-General of the Department of Disease Control at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said that today more than 1 million new cases of COVID-19 had been reported worldwide. But the trend of deaths had decreased. It could be seen that there are more infections worldwide but that mortality had decreased.

This year he said, we're entering now the 3rd year of the Covid-19 outbreak and that COVID-19 will become endemic:

After the shutdown of the Test & Go scheme, the number of tourists entering the country is clearly going down he mentioned.

Richard Barrow mentioned today that there will be a CCSA meeting tomorrow Wednesday, and then a big meeting on Friday...

Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health will recommend to postpone the resumption of the Test & Go scheme at the BOE / CCSA meeting on Friday, January 7....  https://www.dailynews.co.th/news/634233/

Thai Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has indicated that the reopening of pubs and bars, scheduled for January 16th, may have to be postponed indefinitely as, in several provinces, they are being blamed for outbreaks of COVID-19 infections during the long New Year holidays.
