a game changer in the real sense... i think its only $4 a pop as  non profit and can be stored in the home fridge.... jack me up please

I think the London vaccine is only a few weeks away as well..  that will do nicely...

Call me a cynic, but I think it is going to be sometime before governments ease up on restrictions. It seems like they are playing some competition. Lets call it " The longest we can hold out before relaxing things award".

I don't know what the prize is. Any guesses?.

Oppps. Maybe its not only dirty farangs who will spread  infection in Thailand.

Growing fears over Thai coronavirus cluster from Myanmar

A coronavirus cluster in Thailand grew to 10 on Wednesday amid fears scores of other Thai women connected to a hotel in a notorious Myanmar border town could be infected and may attempt to return home under the radar.

Health authorities in Bangkok were holding emergency talks on Wednesday night, an official said.

Thailand has managed to contain Covid-19 infections to just over 4,000 cases.

Its Achilles heel is an extremely porous 2,400-kilometre (1,500-mile) border that it shares with Myanmar, where the virus is rampant, with more than 1,000 new cases a day in recent months.

Thailand tracking 200 people as infected returnees skip COVID-19 quarantine

https://www.yahoo.com/news/thailand-tracking-200-people-infected-071757781.html

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand was racing to track down about 200 people in its northern provinces on Monday to stop a potential coronavirus outbreak, after three Thai nationals entered the country illegally from Myanmar and tested positive days later.

Three women bypassed immigration checks and entered via natural border crossings last Tuesday and Friday, skipping the mandatory quarantine for new arrivals, Chiang Rai provincial governor Prachon Pratsakul said.

One advantage of Thailand's policy of doing the best they can to get to zero new cases a day is when a screw up is discovered they can immediately marshal all their resources to contact tracing and stoping illegal border crossings.

What surprises me is these Thai women were working in Burma.  I thought it would be the other way around with Burmese women working in Thailand.

Wonder what this entertainment complex in Burma is?  Casinos?  Hookers?  Maybe Burmese sex workers are stigmitized if done in their own countries much like none of the hookers in Bali actually being from Bali.

This has stuffed up my planned trip down to Pattaya. Fear is the killer here in Phitsanulok, apparently at least one school is closed because a teacher was on the same plane as one of the returnees from Myanmar, and then went to Phichit also. In my farming community, people are quite worried, and I'm being pressured not to go for my trip. Aah well, see what happens today.

Karaoke bars

throw the border hoppers in Jail

It appears that there are many more Karaoke Ladies who entered Burma illegally who have not returned.   The two governments are trying to work out a way to repatriate these ladies through the border checkpoint.    Then these ladies would be quarantined.

If there is a threat of jail time then the ladies would be incentivized to come back to Thailand illegally thereby infecting others if they are CV+.

There is rumour that Blind Boy Grunt and Quiet Guy will provide a safe house for the ladies.  The Grunt will instruct them on the three legged stool of safety (masks, condoms, helmets) and QG will introduce them to the joy of C&W Karaoke.

I don't attend any of these places. Kinda hard to argue with the travel restrictions reading this. It doesn't mention blowing a Soi 6 ladyman, but I think its safe to say we can add that one to the list as well.

Thanks seven. I'm still planning to go down to Pattaya tomorrow, but only to numbers 1 - 4, although I may well worship at Zaza at some stage. And of course I'll wear a mask and wash my hands.

Thanks Woodie as well.

Capitalism 'will collapse on itself' without more empathy and love: Scott Galloway

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/capitalism-will-collapse-on-itself-without-empathy-love-scott-galloway-120642769.html

The coronavirus pandemic accelerated drastic economic changes that were already underway. And one expert warns that it’s threatening the future of the free market system.

“We are barreling towards a nation with three million lords being served by 350 million serfs,” NYU Stern School of Business professor Scott Galloway told Yahoo Finance Live.

Galloway, the outspoken New York Times best selling author, addresses these themes in his latest book, Post Corona: From Crisis to Opportunity. Specifically, he explores who the winners and losers will be following the COVID-19 pandemic and suggests ways people can prevent a future that threatens to leave millions behind economically.

“We don't like to say this out loud, but I feel as if this pandemic has largely been invented for taking the top 10% into the top 1%, and taking the rest of the 90% downward,” Galloway said.

But he points out that while the two largest asset classes in America — real estate and the stock market — are at all time highs,80% of those assets by value are owned by the top 10%” of the population.

Galloway agrees that government efforts to save businesses and financial markets worked during the pandemic. But there has been little, he says, to help people at the bottom of the economic ladder.

“We've decided to protect corporations, not people. Capitalism is literally collapsing on itself unless it rebuilds that pillar of empathy,” which Galloway says in turn supports capitalism.

The Lords cleverly retain their grip on the political and economic levers of powers by encouraging the Serfs to fight among themselves.  Native Serfs vs Immigrant Serfs.   White Serfs vs Black Serfs.  Straight Serfs vs Gay Serfs.

The Serfs need to unite and depose the Lords.

Yesterday was the worst day ever in the USA with over 250K new cases. The death toll is now more than 300K and now likely that by the end of the winter more Americans will have died of covid than American soldiers died in WW2.

Yep. And COVID19 is a hoax, people shouldn’t be required to wear masks in public, and let the elderly and weak perish to keep the economy afloat. Selfishness is a virtue. And last but not least, Trump is spending his last days in office peddling despicable conspiracy theories about how the election was stolen from him rather than doing his constitutional duty to keep the American people safe.

Trump has touted the Texas suit as “the big one” and one of his best hopes of undermining our democracy and becoming an unelected dictator.

More people in U.S. have died from Covid-19 than were killed in WWII

More people in the United States have died this year from Covid-19 than were killed in four years of fighting on the battlefields during World War II, according to the latest NBC News data.

The death toll from the pandemic as of Thursday afternoon was 292,098 and counting, the figures show.

By contrast, U.S. forces suffered 291,557 “battle deaths” during the Second World War, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
