Not compulsory in London, but from what I see more than 50% are still wearing, including me.

The living kind.

Don't be silly, masks do not stop any virus, flu or deltacron.

N95 have definitely helped when vaccines were not around.. especially with us who work in hospitals.

The cloth masks I agree with you on that and being the living kind.

They just need to make a better mask that isn't causing me acne or facial scars that is still better than the N95.

Agreed. Are you still wearing  N95? I think I've seen one or two here since it all started, rest were those blueish paper masks worn all over the face, forehead and neck.

all this talk is scaring me... are you saying that i shouldn't be wearing old underpants as a mask? Not any old underpants i should say.. good ones, elasticated waist which holds the things airtight under the eyes. i do take care and ensure the fly-hole is buttoned and not open. i accept though that they are giorgio armani, not N95 whatever that may be. Okay, i'll have a look around the night market for proper N95 underpants. don't worry.

Well, since I am after all, an expert epidemiologist and nowadays a very busy military warfare expert I will give you my professional opinion real quick. Busy days.

The fashion and paper masks do fuck all preventing Covid. I haven’t had time to look into the reports regarding N95s efficiency but  I have no reason to doubt Ashokas testament. What colors fabric are Lily’s undies?

Many don't like the tightness of an N95 so they loosen it which renders it useless but as long as you don't wear it with loosened strings or fold it or wash it then it's the best protection at the moment outside of living as a hermit and wearing a hazmat suit.

What you think about these? Makes fellatio a lot easier for sure. I will send a box of these to PD for him to distribute among the sexworkers in Pattaya. Might take off.

Where I do my grocery shopping theres a man who wears this. I'm sure he has his reason for this, but I can assure you people stop and stare, giggling behind his back.

Should I answer with my big head or the little one?

Generally I'm pretty good with the big head as I've never paid barfines but the little head does make its presence felt as I've had good times in soi 6 bathrooms!

Well fuck me. Don't know If I've had Covid-19 in any form and not seen a ladyman in 2 years so I wouldn't know. Fingers crosses. Will Viagra save us? Never tried any erection enhancements but comes a time for everything, I guess.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/covid-lead-impotence-120216364.html

Now scientists are examining a possible link to an altogether unexpected consequence of COVID-19: erectile dysfunction. A connection has been reported in hundreds of papers by scientists in Europe and North America, as well as in Egypt, Turkey, Iran and Thailand.

When patients first started coming to Ramasamy’s clinic complaining of erection problems, “we dismissed it, thinking it was all psychological or stress-induced,” he said.

If there ever was a reason to take the covid jabs, the above  is of significance for us sexpats because:

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/we-might-not-be-in-a-great-spot-in-the-fall-moderna-ceo-190810232.html

COVID-19: 'We might not be in a great spot in the fall': Moderna CEO

The majority of Moderna's (MNRA) revenue comes from governments abroad — which are bracing are for an ongoing need for COVID-19 vaccines this year.

While the U.S. waits on funding and for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to decide on which virus strain to attack through boosters, Moderna and other vaccine companies are anticipating waning immunity to become a concern.

"This virus is not getting less infectious," Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel told Yahoo Finance. "As you see more and more infectious variants ... We are not done with this virus mutating," he said.

The increased circulation from the intersection of waning immunity and a more transmissible variant, as is being observed with more Omicron subvariants in the U.S. and abroad, is the real risk, he said.

"We have a risk in the fall — if we don't have the booster campaign early enough —that we might not be in a great spot in the fall," Bancel said.

Meanwhile, increased global circulation also feeds into the sprouting of more variants.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has been pushing the company to share its vaccine recipe even as it fails to order more doses through the COVAX facility program for lower and middle income countries.

In an earnings call Wednesday, chief financial officer David Meline said COVAX is another source of uncertainty for the company's 2022 projections.

COVAX is "actually the consolidator of demand from countries" and needs to confirm the requests per country before confirming its order to Moderna, Meline said.

So in short; take the VACCINE, MASK UP, (preferably double or triple masks), be careful when rimming a ladyman. A slip of the tongue could get you in deep shit.

QG and PD had it right all along, BBG.

It does everywhere. The worry is later on this year. Covid is a non issue here these days. Nothing about it in the news , life is back to normal , it's like it never happened.   Just thought it was interesting regarding variants and mutations and the importance for older and vulnerable  groups to stay updated with the jabs come next cold season in the west.  Thats all.

Now go out in the sun and enjoy life, QG. :)

I was sitting outside in the sun today. Tomorrow is expected to be cloudy, but improving again on Sunday with sun and temperatures in the 20s next week.

I do expect I will be getting fifth booster covid jab probably October/November.

Just had a message from my friend in Shanghai. The most upset I have received from him.

Shanghai has now shut down all of its neighbourhoods, supermarkets, hospitals, restaurants and express delivery drivers. He finished off with expletives the like I have never heard from him before!. He is a Shanghai local!.

Same here Seven, the only place masks are required are in hospitals and medical practices.  When I read what Woodie posted about Shanghai above it seems like a world away from where we are today concerning Covid.

I haven't posted graphs for a while, so here are a few data extractions.
Globally, the numers are going down in almost every continent. It seems a little bit harder though in Australia. Stats in the poorest countries are very low, probably due poor means of identifying new cases or younger populations. What's interesting is that even Europe with high numbers have stats going down. North America has had low stats for a few months but the curve seems to go up again. Let's hope it's just a small bounce and not a recovery. The 3rd graph shows European countries with something that looks like the beginning of a new bounce. Hopefully, it's nothing.

Regarding China : I followed fairly easily China's odering new locks down : Shanghai, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai again. The government prefers to let people die rather than tolerate a fistful of cases.

IMHO, China reveals the dark side of their methods to struggle against covid19. They have pretended to be the top of the world with the lowest stats but they are now revealing their lack of efficiency. As soon as they find a few new cases they prefer to lock down (and let die) their population since they probably know that a few declared cases mean many undeclared actual cases. In China, not only positively tested people are placed in quarantine. Anyone can be locked down by sanitary authorithies just after coughing for whatever reason. Maybe some people are protected against a lock down decision and other people can be locked without real reason. These are usual processes in dictatorships.

China prefered to use these methods rather than vaccines. Chinese vaccines have low efficiencies. The best one is under 50%. The Chinese government has prefered to use their sinovax as a political weapon to export vaccines in countries to show that they help them. The impact of authoritarian methods acted as an incentive not to declare family or friends' cases to the authorities and therefore let the virus circulate in the population. Vietnam had followed such a policy but the Vietnamese population is fairly undisciplined and the Vietnamese government eventially imported the same vaccines as those used in Europe.
I'm afraid that China will be the source of new variants in the next few years.

Of course it will be. Not from a lab Qanon loonies suggested before, but from wet markets and their way of living.

Not really what I mean. The coronavirus is hidden everywhere in China. Chinese people won't declare they're sick unless they're caught by Chinese authorities. They don't want to be held prisoners in a quarantine or worse be sent to an hospital where they will be sent to the crematorium still alive if they're really sick. Meanwhile, the virus is developping in the population and evolving to new variants.
