Pdoggg
In recent years, we have seen abhorrent human rights abuses by the Philippine government. This repression of trade unionists is a shameful attempt to silence people's rights and freedoms. More than ever, we must stand on the side of global human rights. https://t.co/hJDrDJBX2y — Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) November 15, 2019
ArchieBunker
Good for him!! This type of movement is needed in Thailand as well. I know first hand how employers take advantage of their employees. Believe it or not, I am a union member whether I like it or not. There are pros and cons of my union but I think it is a net plus. 4
Pdoggg
Maybe Bernie is part Swedish! More @BernieSanders dancing! pic.twitter.com/IxVenXQBCY — Adam Kelsey (@adamkelsey) November 24, 2019 EDIT: taken down probably due to copyright infringement. The billionaires are fighting back with propaganda as the politicians that the billionaires legally bribe need the support of the people. The reason Trump can shatter all presidential norms is because his base terrifies GOP lawmakers. For a political revolution to exist you need the support of the People. They are attacking my three favorite politicians. A coincidence I think not.

Quietguy
I was trade union activist when I was working. I'm still a (retired) member of my union. I have occasionally talked to Thai lbs about trade unionism and workers' rights but they don't seem to know anything about this.

Like I said there are pros and cons. Especially what I have been through personally. I glad one is on the property! A lot pf people think the USA should be more like Europe. If that were the case, our industry, airlines, would be able to strike at the drop of a hat. Imagine all the bitching and moaning that would cause in this country!!!! So many sectors of the Thai work force, especially the hospitality industry NO not THAT type of hospitality either, needs protections and rules. But I dont think its something in the fiber of the Thai DNA to fight like that. It would be crushed brutally in the crib anyway......
