I took the Blue? Bus with the ticket purchased from the counter way in the back. Booth #96?? (It's been a few years) Seems like the booth was 90 something. It technically was only suppose to stop at Cha Am and HH but when a Thai on the bus got close to home he would tell the driver and they would stop and let them off. I'm glad I took the trip but I'll probably use Bell most of the time now.

Thinking about visiting again, now that there is a daily big bus (Bell Travel) direct between Pattaya and Hua Hin.

Looking at the Bell website, it doesn't appear that hotel pick-up drop off is provided.

I can understand the difficulty of initiating this service in Hua Hin, but in Pattaya the infrastructure already exists.

It does suck that one has to get to the bus station unless traveling light enough to use a moto taxi.

With more than 1,000 long-tailed macaques now living at Kho Takiab temple in Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Hua Hin district and insufficient supplies to feed them all, officials are all set to launch a sterilisation programme to keep the numbers down.

Hua Hin Municipality’s Jirawat Prammanee said help had been sought from the National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department in neutering the monkeys. The municipality will shoulder the costs, he added. The plight of the monkeys at the temple came to light when a Bangkok woman, Pimolwan Silpwisetsan, 38, posted on a note on Facebook begging for donations of food for the starving animals. She said on Monday that she has closed the donation account after raising B116,959. She used the money to buy 100 bags of dog food pellets and water containers for the monkeys at the temple.

She said her voluntary team would monitor and refill foods and water for the monkeys there. Jirawat added that the municipality would also dispatch water trucks to deliver water for the monkeys at the temple. Saroj Chanlad, chief of the animal health division of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Livestock Development Office, said there are about 5,000 long-tailed macaques living at three locations in the province. He said the monkeys had changed their eating behaviour after being fed by tourists. They no longer scavenged for food in the wild and merely waited for hand-outs from tourists.

Made it over to HH back in February, my first time there in just over 6 years.  The bar scene has upped its game, with Soi Bintabaht now using the alias of Walking St also.  Came down with a fever so didn’t get out to check the bars at night, but I did spot the odd ladyboy around the sois early in the evening, but you have to keep your eyes peeled and ears open for that distinctive cackle.

Nice pics bb. I've been considering a trip to Hua Hin next visit. Still never been there after 12 years. I like that name - Bintabaht. Bint is slang for a woman up my way. Probably in the north of England too I'd imagine. Very apt name for a street I reckon.

Cheers RR,  and you are not wrong about Bintabaht being the main drag for the ladies.  Nice beach but a shame about the horses and the smell of them if near the beach entrance.

The pic with the monkey and potato chips is one of the best I've ever seen.  Shame the lighting wasn't a bit more favorable but I reckon when you have a chance for a shot like that you just point and shoot before he scampers away.

So they want to sterilize that little fella?

We had been relaxing on the jetty of our guesthouse when he popped up from below, strolled across and casually snatched our bag of snacks.  Fortunately I was cleaning my camera at the time, so close at hand, (he may well have taken it if it was also on the table) and like you say had to shoot quickly before the moment was gone.

I felt like sterilizing him myself at that moment as I was enjoying those nibbles.
