So far they removed the old surface down to it's base gravel layer and have done nothing else since early in the week

Maybe that’s what they consider the improvement.

I just talked to one of the girls downstairs.  I asked when they plan to pave and she said "after new year". So who knows?

I went to the new location of Pim Stars Bar last night and it was less than exciting. Although lots of places are slow. Too many NYE hangovers I guess. But that beer bar complex is a tomb.

I heard a rumor second hand that Sensations was going to move to the old Pim Stars Bar location, right on Buakhao, at the front of Action Street.

Soi Chaiyapoon (aka Soi Pothole) has been paved with asphalt all the way from Third Road to Chow Soy/Canterbury Tales. There is only a small stretch left to be paved on the Buakhao end. At 2:15 PM they had quit for the day and say they will finish "tomorrow".

Passed by Pim Stars Bar tonight and seemed as if there were quite a few ladyboys inside but just one farang.

Blue Ratree Complex certainly lacks excitement that will draw in passing trade.

But I hear the rent is super cheap so maybe good for a bar with a special niche such as for fans of the Scottish Premier League or guys who enjoy being urinated on.

If you wander down the dirt road past Blue Ratree there is a super secret casino with a gate and a guard who opens the gate for cars.  There's green netting overhead so arial photography can't catch the building. Hear it's mostly Chinese clientele.

Took another visit to Kink and it has to be the premier gogo in Pattaya.

The stage lowers every hour on the hour.

Pretty girls, great sound system, and quite comfortable seating.

Plus an upstairs Sodom and Gommorah although the girls on the smaller of the two upstairs stages/beds aren't that pretty.

Here's typcial Kink music, might not be everyone's favorite but the great sound system enhances any style of music.

It seems like they just remodeled.  And Oct 20 is just about the time the guys who stay for 5 months get into town.  Anyone know why they're closing?

The bar has been sold so something will still be there. Likely not a LB bar.

The place never had whatever is needs to keep lots of customers in the bar. I've been in many times but often I was the only customer or one of a very few. Usually didn't stay very long as there just wasn't any atmosphere despite the bar being very nice inside.

Guards at a “restaurant” in Pattaya allegedly attacked an Italian man and a Thai woman early Thursday morning (April 14th) .

TPN uses the word restaurant for the purpose of this article as legally all nightclubs and bars are closed by Thai law due to Covid-19 restrictions, however, have been allowed to open as converted restaurants in the meantime.

Ms. Waranya (last name withheld), 35, and Mr.V (an alias), 32, an Italian national, filed a report to the Pattaya City Police yesterday, April 14th.

Mr. V told police that at about 2:15 A.M. on April 14th, he and his Italian friends and Thai friends were sitting in front of a closed “restaurant” in Soi LK Metro (Near Soi Buakhao).

About five male guards, according to the victim, attacked Mr. V who was allegedly sitting on a motorbike. He sustained injuries to his mouth and head, with a severe injury to his lip.

Ms. Waranya told police that the couple had been in a “restaurant” (modified nightclub) earlier on LK metro but claimed to have no arguments or problems with anyone inside.

She was on the back of Mr. V’s motorbike during the incident. The couple were chatting with friends from a nearby bar when they claimed a group of men attacked them for no reason while brawling with others. The couple dropped their motorbike before running away on foot.

Yesterday afternoon, (April 14th) CCTV footage from the nearby area was released by Pattaya Police. CCTV footage appears to show a group of people on motorbikes stopping on LK Metro before getting into an argument and physically fighting.

After the initial fight, a group of men wearing black tops which were similar to security guards entered the brawl. Finally, a third group of men, possibly Thai nationals, joined the chaos. It was during this chaos that the victims were injured nearby.

Last night, April 14th, around 6:00 P.M., the Pattaya City Police Colonel Kunlachart Kunlachai called all people to the police station who had been allegedly involved in the incident. Multiple people, including “restaurant” security, reportedly admitted they were the people in the CCTV footage in the fighting. However, the security guards told Pattaya Police that the incident was after bars and nightclubs were closed and had nothing to do with the business as they were technically off-duty but staffers and customers were still in the area.

One of the guards, who wasn’t identified, told Pattaya police that the incident started from two parties of foreigners arguing and fighting. They (staffers and guards from the “restaurant”) tried to stop the fight but claimed the foreign tourists involved attacked the guards, causing the security to defend themselves.

The guards are apologizing for the incident and have reportedly agreed to be charged with legal action. It is unclear if the venue where they work will face any legal action and the guards stated they were acting on their own and not as employees.

Colonel Kunlachart told TPN media, “This is a confusing incident and we have had multiple stories about who was responsible and what the argument was about. Not all the foreigners involved are cooperating fully with their statements and there are multiple conflicting statements between some parties on the cause of the argument. However, all suspects in this incident will be facing charges of attempting to cause bodily harm and assault. Police should be immediately called when there is a dispute between tourists or a customer escalation and security should never get physically involved with a tourist.”

Colonel Kunlachart did not release the names of the suspects or the venue where the security guards worked, citing an ongoing investigation.

Can someone please confirm as I don't understand theThai signage above the bar .

If you're talking about the white lettering on red it looks like Scooter Restaurant but the Thai word for restaurant is not used but rather using Thai letters to approximate how restaurant should sound in English (I think)

Pattaya –
The Pattaya Traffic Police are trying to solve traffic problems in Soi Buakhao, Pattaya after locals have complained for over a year. As restrictions for entry of international visitors ease from May 1st, residents have increased their complaints and concerns that the area could become a major traffic jam.

Locals have complained many times that motorbikes are parked on both sides of the road in Soi Buakhao, especially around the “Tree Town” market area which is causing traffic problems as traffic flow is very slow. The problem has lasted for a year, according to local residents, but has become significantly worse lately driven by several things:

An increasing amount of tourists and foot traffic, especially around the Tree Town market area. This includes intoxicated locals and tourists using the street to walk late at night.
People disregard traffic rules and park their motorbikes on both sides of the road, limiting the ability for traffic to flow.
Baht buses (songtaews) stop for customers at unapproved stops, delaying traffic.
Lack of stop signs/traffic lights at several major intersections, such as Soi Diana and Soi Chiayapoon, which cause backups and delays.
Motorbike taxi drivers have increased in the area and set up stands in areas that should accommodate vehicle traffic flow.
Food carts parked in areas not designated for them and slowing traffic.
A team from the Pattaya Traffic Police led by Lieutenant Colonel Arus Sapanon went to Soi Buakhao Wednesday night, April 27th, at 9:30 P.M. to inspect the problems and consider possible solutions.

According to Lt. Col Arus, motorbikes were found parking along the roadside for more than 50 meters, including in areas that were not reserved for parking. Taxi motorbikes were being parked on the road with stands which makes the road become narrower.

Lieutenant Colonel Arus spoke with staff and security guards at the Tree Town market, as well as taxi motorbike drivers on Soi Buakhao. Lieutenant Colonel Arus told TPN media, “As a start, customers should park their motorbikes inside the area of the market. This is for their safety and to solve traffic problems. We are going to restrict parking on Soi Buakhao in front of the market to improve traffic flow.”

“Closing Soi Buakhao to vehicle traffic at night around LK Metro and Tree Town is not a feasible option for a variety of reasons, as some have suggested online. We will be taking the feedback from local business owners in the area and law enforcement and presenting them to the new mayor when elected, which will be on May 22nd. At this point, a longer-term permanent traffic plan can be developed for the area to benefit all parties involved while not impeding vehicle traffic. Some items, like stopping motorbike parking in front of Tree Town and stricter rules for motorbike taxi drivers, we will begin immediately, however.” Lt. Col Arus concluded.
