Hotel Near Famous Bar

For those of you who want to be just a hop, skip, and a jump from Famous Bar (like Lung 555) you might want to check out the Iris Residence just across the soi.

it's the next best thing to actually living in a Famous shortime room, now how cool would that be, round the clock ladyboy cock! :clapping:

As an added bonus you're a minute from Sunee Plaza for those so inclined.

Iris has nice rooms, free wifi, and an in-room safe at a very reasonable 800 baht. Clientele is farang and Middle Eastern.

Good location, fer shur... on my short list, btw does anyone know what's the name of the hotel directly (east?) bordering Sunnee Pl that someone at Corner Bar was extolling last time I was there, reasonable & cheerful with a pool as I recall. I think it was the one hulking over the Plaza. I want to try staying closer to that area next foray.

Hefe, That would be Yensabai Condo.

The units are individually owned and IMO Patrice is the best realtor to deal with.

Btw, the pool you see by Sunee is not the Yensabai pool but they have an even bigger pool on the other side of the building.

Caveat: Some of the units at Yensabai have a moldy smell; others do not as various owners have maintained there units to different standards. If you are booking there I can check out the room for you in advance to see if it has a fresh smell. However, i can only check out rooms that are currently empty.

Patrice's high season rentals get scooped up early so now in early October is the time to book. I won't be around after Loy Krathong.

Patrice also has units at the VCC and My View Condos that are almost brand new and at a similar price, also with a big pool. But the location is not as good, it's not much more than 5 minutes to Famous but not an easy walk along Soi 17 (which at 2nd road is Soi 16) which has no sidewalk and lots of motobikes.

The big pool is at the VC. Condotel site & it really is an excellent pool, being incredibly large & well maintained by Pattaya standards (best I've used yet & i'm a swimmer), plus if you're hard up for a doobie, you'll probably find an old bag of my dope tapped up under the urinal systern in the 'Gents' toilet

Haven't done Yensabai, but on PDoggs recommendation I stayed at the same company's other site 'VC Condotel' managed by the incredibly helpful & hard working 'Patrice' (a seriously professional & good hearted guy who speaks really good English). All the rooms that I viewed were incredibly clean & well maintained, most being oversized at 43 sq meters... I’d recommend it to anyone, but has PDogg stated, please book early for the high season, they can get incredibly busy.

The rooms range from 500 baht to 630baht per day with an additional 30 baht per day for 'good' wifi & then the electric at 5 baht per unit & water at 35 baht per unit respectively. I’m not sure how much the cable TV or satellite costs because I just watch downloads on my computer, sorry.

A LATE HALLOWEEN STORY: Please beware about taking rough trade in there from the street as they don't have the same security in place as a hotel & your escort won't have to show I.D... While I was staying there some gay guy brought two boys back 'off the street' & they beat him to a pulp & left him for dead; the next day whilst the commotion was going on Patrice said to me that he couldn't believe what he saw... In his own words, "Jesus, that poor guy, he look like a fucking Halloween Pumpkin, I never see anything like this"!!

Just checked out of Iris this morning really clean and new, good staff ,everything works.

800bht a night and no joiners fee.

Only problem full of Arabs and when I say full of them thats what I mean, they like to shout in the corridors at 3am or play loud horrible caterwalling music all night in their rooms as well.

I was woken up at 415 this morning by by this rag head shouting to his mate down the corridor.

I ended up having to tell him to shut his noise or I would go bring the hotel security. Seemed to do the trick as he went back in his room to continue whatever he was doing with his goat.

Okay for a stop gap if your stuck or if you like Arabs otherwise give it a swerve.

Methinks you do not enjoy our Arabic friends and their music!!! good job it was not a Friday or you would have had a mad Mullah calling them to prayers five times in the day!!!

Having not seen it, I'd guess your review is the most accurate. They may as well change the name of Soi VC to Soi Camel Fucker, and rather than Sunee Plaza, soon it will be Towel Head Plaza.

I think there's a good chance that in five years Sunee will be all Arab all the time with a bunch of Persians thrown in.

But ya know, the guys from the Mideast who come to Pattaya are actually allot like us. They're here to shag ladies and ladyboys as well as drink with their mates.

These are not guys who particularly hate the West, rather they aspire to be us. For sure on their forums some of them probably talk about the white motherfookers , kind of similar to the racism on Farang forums.

But I don't get the sense they hate us. They are the haves in their countries, not the have nots.

PDogg - You may be right about them not hating us, but dont fool yourself I am sure they would thro us to the woolfs without a second thought. I lived and worked in Iran before and during the revolution and in the Middle East before and during the first gulf war (not in uniform) and what I learned is to never trust them and expect the worst and that goes for the Haves and the Have Nots. Remember Osama was one of the Haves too. Never turn your back to them. Just my own personal experience.
