No music or "song" in bars is actually a gift IMO. But each to their own.

I agree for the most part ,  although  there is a bar on New plaza  where the owner (friend of mine )  lets me play whatever  I want for the  price  of a few new plaza  priced ( aka cheap,   55 baht )  beers,  so I often   Iike to start my night off there and play the music I miss from back home

The addition of the new Scooter's Bar will no doubt mean me paying more visits to Soi 6

I like  Scooter's  too but I have some bigger ,  not as big, , and some yet undiscovered  reasons  to go down to Soi 6 :on a blistering hot afternoon )

Same here, have quite a few ladyboy contacts and bars to visit after starting off with a couple of drinks in Scooters

Ya I will definitely  have a few there as well  but always  start off at My Friend  you  bar for cosy  air  con  ,    55 baht  beers  and a little oral gratification  if the mood strikes me: )

After meeting up with a ladyboy in another bar yesterday I went to have a couple of drinks in Scooters at around 5pm, happy hour until 7pm,.. bottled beer @ 50 baht, I did notice the music being played was louder than that of their other bar on LK Metro the night previously, until Monday anyway

50 baht is a damn good price. Gone are the days when Bar 54 had most beers for 35 baht until 9PM with 7 ladyboys and no lady drink pressure whatsoever.

Does Scooters has 2 for 1 at other times or am I confusing it with another bar?

Scooters does beers at 80 baht, but if you buy a second one you get it for 40 baht (so works out at 60 baht each), but you have to buy two and it is continuous, same goes for discounts on all drinks

Had a few drinks with Essex Boy the other night in the Marquee Bar on Buakhao and the Sang som and cokes are 35 baht a pop, meeting up with BigTel there in about 45 minutes...he will be enjoying that price too B)

One thing which has honestly never tempted me to patronise  any bar in Pattaya while on vacation is the lower cost of drinks compared to other places. I'm much more interested in the general ambience of the chosen establishment together with whom I'm likely  to encounter and socialise with or be entertained by.

I ration myself to approximately ten bottles of San Mig most evenings therefore, paying a premium of an additional 30-100 Baht or even a massive 250 for a bottle in Oskars or Levels in Bangkok is neither here or there so far as I'm concerned.

Clearly my decision making progress would be less cavalier if I was living there longer term and operating on a budget.

I dont really care if a bottle costs 50, 100, or 150, I don't travel 6500 miles to find the cheapest bars, as long as I am enjoying myself in the bar then I will pay whatever

went by whisky bar last night and it was closed and an LB who used to work there told me it had been closed for about, 5 days now

Thanks for the update. It's always sad to lose a LB bar. Hopefully it reopens, but it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't after reading some reports about they way they have recently been conducting business.  Sounds like Soi 6 as a whole may be doomed as a P4P area with recent developments.
