Great atmosphere and with girls like Jen, Nancy and Cindy it is just a great place to start the evening. Not so sure how easy it will be to clean the toilet with all those pebbles on the floor. Rossco Posted November 30, 2012 Share Posted November 30, 2012 La Bamba expanding into LadyBoy Bar and Guest House La Bamba opened in Dec 2007 after Club 131 was quickly vacated. The original lease was for 4 years - terminating Dec 2011. Sam the owner had lost interest so Nok and the team renewed the lease for 1 more year which expires in late Dec2012 The landlady got greedy and wanted not only a 67% increase, in monthly rental, but also key money per annum. Just do not understand her mentality as before La Bamba the building was a vacant for over a year (Birdie cargo). Basically the La Bamba team were in a panic as they need a good High season to get them through Low season. La Bamba is also their home. No negotiations on price so the alternative was to find a new venue - Soi Lenke/Soi Chayapum and Bukhouw were all possibilities. The La Bamba staff really did not want to move out of Soi 13/1 (Yamoto) but the rent hike on the current building was just too much. Buddha was on their side and a new venue, in the Soi, has been negotiated at a more reasonable rent. The new bar, still called La Bamba, will be open in late December this year - 4 weeks time. Work is in progress in the new bar.. No disruption to service. In fact a far better service. La Bamba is to become the first ever LadyBoy Bar and Guest House - you too can sleep under the same roof as: Nok, Cindy, Jen, Nancy, Veil (Will), Lanny, Patty etc etc. Prices per night will depend on your length of stay. Each room has its own shower/WC/AC/Fridge and small TV The rooms are basic small double bed rooms but clean and comfortable. Price per night up, to 7 days, is 500 baht High Season (Nov to Feb inclusive) and 400 baht Low season Longer stays by negotiation I know some guys, who live here, are thinking of renting a room for the long-term anyhow as a home from home. The building they are moving into was the Legless Arms - looks like it just got its Leg back...... Opening party to be announced soon - late December As you stand with your back to LaBamba there is an Internet/Photcopy shop directly opposite. The Legless Arms is next to this on the right side (with your back to LaBamba). Club 131 is the other side of the Legless Arms to the right again. Club 131 is still operating as a GG bar and has been up for sale for some while. PattayaPhotoGuide kept club131 on their street imagery... Legless-Arms /the new La-Bamba is next door. I tried talking to Nok about this a few weeks ago as it was really getting her down, and I know she wasn't keen on a move beyond soi bukaouw. I for one hope this catapults the success of the bar, Nok,Nancy,Cindy et all deserve a bit of good fortune,imo. As for staying there, not sure it would be a good idea, even though it could be said I already spend most of my holiday in La Bamba .Although they aren't the jealous type on the surface, I don't know how they would react to various LB's from different bars staying under "their" roof on a regular basis. It's always been touch & go for poor old Nok from day one & I know that keeping hold of the place has been a never ending cause for concern for her. Funnily enough I've always treated it like a bit of a hotel, often saving up my last night in Patts for Nok & a night in the boudoir. She's an amazing host, the last time I stayed she actually took me out on the piss, at her expense, bought me food, nurse maided me all night long where I'd just come out of hospital & then the next morning got me breakfast & then kept going over the road to get me coffee all day until the taxi came to take me to Swampy!!!! Fuckin' unbelievable. And that's why, in my opinion, she always will be the best ladyboy in town! I wish her ever success & I know she'll make a superb host... Well, on this particular trip the Panzer was commissioned by his real mother to take as many photos of weird Pattaya folks as he was able... And he was doing a fine job of capturing the strangeness of Pattaya and the strange folks who made Pattaya their home for his mother until one evening when we wandered down Soi 13-1 to La Bamba... On this particular evening the owner of the Armless Legless Bar was sitting at the bar...The Panzer thought now that is a good shot to take home to mama...And so he pulled out his camera and commenced to take a photo when Khun Legless Armless demanded 2000 baht to take his photo... The Panzer being the gentlemen that he is said fuck you to the Armless Legless Dude and turned his camera off and put it back in his pocket... But me being the insensitive asshole that I am...said, "Take the fucking picture. It's not as if he can't chase you down the Soi." Nokky and I had a long talk about this the last night I was in town last month (as you may recall); I'm relieved to hear things have worked out. As for staying there, not sure it would be a good idea, even though it could be said I already spend most of my holiday in La Bamba .Although they aren't the jealous type on the surface, I don't know how they would react to various LB's from different bars staying under "their" roof on a regular basis. Pussy. You know I'll stay there. As discussed previously, I should just cut out the middle man, so to speak. I shudder to think of the nights (er, days, rather) I didn't use my hotel room other than for storage of my suitcases, this last trip, while "sleeping" in La Bamba. Of course with 24-hour pizza across the street *and* Thai food (not to mention the eponymous restaurant), with Starbucks at the end of the soi, I'll probably never get out of Soi Yamato now. Just one thing Rossco, when they are moving the fish, make sure Patti isn't about. When I get down there in a few weeks, I'm telling her you said that.
