williethepimp
Sex. I don't mean that flippantly, but if you think of all the things that motivate great art, SEX is probably at the top of the list, well in front of any theological construct. well considering we're discussing religions.........???? .....the history of Art,its beginnings and of course earliest patrons were all motivated by Religion, especially Christianity....almost exclusively Christianity.......I'm sure the Artists themselves were motivated by sex,as we all are. That actually sparked another interesting (IMHO) question: How many religions were created out of a sexual motive? Obviously you'd have to put Mormanism in that category. I've seen/read various theories about the canonization process of the Bible (deciding which "gospels" went in and which were left out) was at least partially motivated by a desire to ensure that patriarchy and male domination (and thus female subjugation) was codified.
