Hotel rates to go up as Chinese tourists spend big

 

Just glanced at the Bangkok post today, and news about future hotel rates are NOT Good.

Thanks to our Chinese Friends, it's going to be more expensive (Probably mostly for high end hotels)

Interesting article Woofer! 

 

I love pouring over stats.

 

The article points to the distinction between Chinese package tourists and Chinese independent tourists.

 

A Pattaya real estate agent explained to me that the Russian package tourists have much different spending habits than Russian independent tourists.

 

Also interesting is the survey stating that the two things Chinese tourists enjoy most is sightseeing and shopping.

 

I guess LBR Members might have to click those boxes too if sexual relations with ladyboys is not an option.

I reckon most guys who use the forums have their own favourite accommodation options and hopefully it does not affect them too much.  Cannot see it doing too much damage to the guest house options, so maybe more guys will go that route.
